I'm still sititng over here trying to wrap my mind around the missing LFG tool being spun into building a better community thing.  I do genuinely feel bad for people who threw down big money to build a new system to run this game on max who probably didn't need to.

Really? Cause that exactly why pretty much everyone who bought skyrim for PC did so... because the graphics are 10 times better on PC.

Look I understand that there are Many, MANY people whom the graphics does not matter, or are too poor, too lazy, or have the money and just dont care that much about graphics to invest In a decent rig.... but dont drag the rest of us down with you...

A lot of us rememeber that was the whole point of new games coming out in the first place... to offer new innovations that bring fun and entertainment (which is this doesnt do for me much too much because its wow 2.0) and to look better and more realistic than the games that came before them. Otherwise there would have been no point to develop games beyond the atari... so yes... graphics do matter

Correct balty. You can type in /who and get a laugh at their piece of shit grouping mechanic.

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

See perfect example.   By the way, high res graphics were in game, during beta.   That is why the UI had three settings, low, medium, high.   Now Bioware comes out and says there never were any high res textures, which is a lie, and the UI showing the texture settings of low, medium and High should have only ever showed, low and high.   They out right lied to you.   They then tried to cover up their lie by removing the medium setting in the game UI and were going to say, "see high res textures are in game" - PTR screen shots be players showed where Bioware removed the medium setting in the UI.

It is not that they removed the high res textures from the game because the engine cannot handle it, it is that they tried to cover their arses by lying to you and every other player of the game.   Some of you are so blinded by fandom that you don't even know you've been lied to.

    A few points;

    1. They still have their new systems - SWTOR has in no way changed this fact.

    2. They should have know better than to spend money building a system to run a game that hasn't been released, especially an MMO.

    3. The game has been live for a month, it can expect to live for another 7 years in which time there is plenty of scope for improvement.

Like ive said in the other thread on this topic... give it a month or two... when the low level zones are ghost towns and running any dungeon before max level becomes impossible without a run through... then we will see the LFD tool

You do know what Stephen Reid wrote there is a Corporate spin on this issue right?

You don't actually believe the bug in the UI statement about the Medium setting? While early in beta there were clearly 3 different visible settings! Low, Medium, High.

His whole statement is full of Corporate spin and conflicting statements.

That and many other things.     Bioware so so concernmed with the story, that they forgot that they were suppose to be making an MMO.

Considering how many threads I've seen entitled "what kind of hardware do I need to purchase to run this game on max settings"... I would be pretty frustrated too.

Enter a whole new realm of challenge and adventure.

In defense of ToR (look at me, defending the game after everything else i've said about it lol) we ALL knew from the very beginning that ToR was at no point ever going to compete or revolutionize or out shine any other video game ever made in the past, present, or future. They made it perfectly clear when they first officially announced plans to develop the game and at every moment since that ToR was going to be developed with sub-standard graphics and visuals for the purpose of being accessible to every possible PC configuration from the most advanced computers necessary to run Crysis 3 on Ultramax settings with consistant 120 FPS and 0 lag allllll the way down to an empty cardboard box with "kompyooter" written in sharpie on the side.

Now, unless they stated at some point in time that the game would feature the option(s) to enhance the visuals to be superior or on par with other modern generation video games then I fully redact my statement. But I never saw such a claim.

If we called out and boycotted every company, corporation or identity public or private...down to each person around us for "lies" (tho..maybe we should)...we'd likely be living lives alone in a cave. Even if they intentionally lied , those who still play the game aren't 'blinded' we just don't find  their "lie" all that important or made such a neglible impact on the game as to seem unimportant. Let's stick to pointing the finger a corporations that are really bending us over...not ones that didnt make our game look prettier than it already does.

If they mentioned the game would be high texture mmo and it ended up an 8bit platformer or if they said it would have competitive monthy fees but turned out to be $50 a month then ..hell yes..fuck em. As it stands they are having issues that many people didn't even know existed anyway because the game looked good already. Even if they had High res textures for all...I really don't think it would make that much difference to appearance without implementing DX10 or DX11. Now that's something they should have utilized...DX11. Just my opinion.

Don't get me wrong ..I hope they eventually do make an all hi-res option. I really do...I'm just not getting all worked up over it's absence when the game looks pretty sweet to me.

Ehh what? You can go to the official website and browse every friggin' screenshot and CLEARLY see HighRes textures in every single one of them!

There is also plenty of early Closed Beta footage on the net, posted by Closed Beta testers after the NDA was lifted, that showed HighRes textures ingame!

Another LIE by DLCWARE, and of course, the Biodrones will defend it, no matter what.

There were in the beta forums official statements right from moderators... unfortunately all beta forums got wiped

I've been playing the game since June. I know damn well what was in beta and what wasn't, thanks.

I still don't give a damn if the high-res textures haven't been put back into the game yet. I average anywhere from 95-110 FPS with everything maxed out and no lag, and my new rig -- which I bought for this game, BTW -- cost me just under $1000.  Decent rig for a decent price, and the game looks fine.

If that's being blinded by fandom, then I guess it's better than playing for a few hours, giving away my beta code, then spending months whining about a game that I claim to hate and be bored by. Oh well.

  • lies are one thing.. false advertising is a whole different story. they better take out all those high res screen shots they used to boost the game.

what sucks is they said a fix was coming in since beta. fix?

Okay... its not important to you... or alot of people.... we got that with post number 2 or 3.

But it does matter to us... yes as petty as that sounds it actually does matter to us that the game took a substantial graphics hit after the game was launched.
