Lesser version of the Human Racial Elite, but available at start. Can be appreciated by low levels (1-32).

And I'm talking aboutthe Wolf pet, all the other things are one or limited time only.

Depends on what you call advantage. The elite skill means you get access to 1 more elite skill to chose from at level 30. Could be an entirely new skill, or just a reskin of the human racial elite.

Because it is a cash shop rental item.  They will likely have 3 or 4 things you can pay for a period of time to make the game easier.  Like a mobile banker, maybe a mobile armor repairer will be another, etc.

They are giving us cash shop items to get us hooked on them.

Oh I see, thank you for clarifying that.  I think the only thing I really might like is the wolf... I might actually only get the standard digital edition :p

The 5 day limit on the banker might be a deal breaker for $20.  That wolf summon probably sucks. Probably like the druid pet from daoc.. Just an annoyance and dies in 1 swing

Yeah I'm thinking it really isn't worth $20... and I've never really been much of a fan of 'pets' or pet classes... even if this wolf just runs out to distract enemies or a quick burst of damage.

It is an elite skill so it probably is a bit more useful. say 5 swings or so.

But yeah, 5 days ain't much.

Who cares about ingame items, as they will wear out very quickly...

Paying anything more then the standard box sounds like foolish to me, as the collectors edition is way to expensive, and the digital deluxe doesnt offer anything on the long run.

So there is digital, digital deluxe... and the boxed collectors edition, meaning that there will be no normal boxed version, or that there is no normall boxed version available at pre launch?

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

They said they learned lessons from warhammer.

I am not so sure everyone wants DaoC 2. The first game had a very loyal fan base but it was never that large, even here a poll if people ever played DaoC would probably not give that high resaults and a lot of people here are vets.

Just compare box sales of DaoC with sales of the original GW, one of those games are on the pc top 10 list and it sure ain't DaoC.

I think most people actually want Wow 2...

    Loke666,

    PVP People want 2 things.

    1. Sandbox  and everything that goes with it.. ffa pvp, politics etc..  They aren't very likely to get this because it is a low subscription market... Just look at Dominus, it's got potential and Sanya from Mythic, but it is early alpha... and sci fi ... MEH . Archeage who knows when and if it's gonna release, world of darkness? nobody knows anything..There is nothing else otherwise.

3 faction pvp has been long awaited again, people know 2 faction is fail.

I sure as hell don't want wow 2.. Just think about how unskilled and craptastic wow pvp was... ehhh blizzard can't do pvp, hell they even removed it from d3 because they can't get it right for release.... yet

I guess pve people could want wow 2, but who else in their right minds would?

Speak for yourself, I love PvP and I don't care where I get as long as its good. Also the amount of people that like sandbox MMOs are small enough that they are irrelavant to any real discussion.

I have bought games just to play the multiplayer (ACB/ACR). As long as the PvP is good, a lot of people that like PvP wouldn't care if its a sandbox game or not.

The elite skill is in no way beneficial unless it's an elite skill better than all others.  The wolf elite skill will have to replace your professions/race elite skill - you can have only 1 usable at any one time.

  • DJJazzyDJJazzy Member UncommonPosts: 2,053

There is speculation at Guru that the elite skill is just a reskin of a skill that's in the game. I'd be ok with that.

I might get the deluxe cuz i love vanity items.

If the people at guru are not overreacting then you know its not a big deal. LOL

    nvm, i was wrong.

Im guessing either it just isnt available for pre-order or simply not being sold directly through them. However it does look like stores will have a normal retail boxed version available: http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/guild-wars-2/75863 available for pickup at stores.

Also consider these vanity items will probably be in-game cash shop as well.  And if you pick and choose you can technically pay less than the $20 package price.  But this would all depend on how much they charge and set up the cash shop.

I can t wait to play this game, but standard it is foe me. Theres nothing at all that appeals to me in the other versions. Almost all the items will be useless in a day or 2 of playing i m sure.

I hate to burst your bubble, but any beta invite from this point foward will be based on preorders, not sign ups. It just makes good business sense.

I would also venture to guess that they will announce a release date and beta roadmap to coincide with the availability of pre orders...april 10th.

  • ProfRedProfRed Member UncommonPosts: 3,495

I would think elite skills would be class specific though and this one is obviously an all classes skill.  I am not too worried about it.  It may give an advantage early on but is probably fluff.

In Guild Wars 1 you could make max level PvP only chars from the start.  These chars shared your loot from story chars, and had access to any skills you unlocked across all chars in PvE.  Now if you PvP'ed with them you got points which is what I am associating with glory points.  These points let you unlock additional max level PvP items and additional skills at different costs.

Basically you could only play PVP chars and unlock most of the stuff in the game so when you made new ones you had access to everything.  Or you could make different PvE chars and unlock stuff never having to use these points.  It was a fair and unique system.

I don't know how this will transfer to Guild Wars 2, or how glory points are used, but I was figuring they would turn this into a cash shop thing.  Buy unlocks for PvP only chars.  It isn't pay2win because you could with just a PvE char make a char that could PvP great.  Through buying you can unlock a ton of stuff and have more variance, or stick with less options, but it is still an even playing field.

I believe they are still sticking closely to making sure there is an even playing field.

  • Standard edition for me, at least i can have access to all beta phases till the release.

ps: Was hoping in a beta test before buying because if i don't like the game i will waste 55 usd.

  • CammyCammy Member Posts: 864

Wow I can't wait to preorder, so excited for this game after the last MMO disappointment :( Im sure most know what that is... "in a galaxy far far away"....

Anyhow - bring this game on NAO cause I wants it! I was a HUGE fan of the original (huge) played it for years... can't wait to get my grubby paws on this one.

April 10th is close too! Schweetttt!! I don't think Ill go with the CE edition but Im very happy to hear the reg addition still gives the headstart and access to beta weekends.

    Giddy up!

You dont have to pre-order. Wait until you get accepted into one of the betas and then see if you like it.
