I personally have been waiting for this game ever so devotedly since ArenaNet announced it, so I'm looking forward to April 10th, 6 days after my birthday! :)

Now I am completely willing to help support a company that has been working so hard to please its community and does its best to provide us, the community, with a game that doesn't have a subscription fee. I will gladly put out some of my extra cash--by getting the Collector's Edition-- to support a company I love. :)

Most disappointing MMO CE ever, and i've bought many of them over the years.  Even Swtor's was worth it.

I'd prefer to preorder the game from steam (first preference) or amazon. But you don't get access to beta events this way now do you? Add to that that neither steam nor amazon have the game for preorder.

Gee, sorry there are no Charr Lightsabers for you. The ten inch figurine, the art, the book... soundtrack by Jeremy Soule... for me, well worth it. SWToR you overpaid for a crap game that charged a sub on top of it. This... this is good stuff, and it's B2P.

    Oderint, dum metuant.

I actually wanted to buy it.  I usually buy CE's, but this one doesn't persuade me that it's worth $150. :P

    I don't know if that's worth $150. $150 for a game is a lot...

I think I will go for the middle one.

Edit: Doh, Dio got before me...

i pre-ordered GW2 like 2 years ago from Gamestop. On April 10 im going back to gamestop to change my preorder to the one in the middle as well. Seems more balanced. I have no interest in any of the extra stuff from Collectors Edition and standard is kind of meh lol

The editions on the website are directly from Arenanet/NCSoft. You can't preorder these from Gamespot, they will get other (physical box) versions, with shorter head-start time.

Heard about this via VG24/7. It makes me very happy.

Also, has anyone else noticed all the Rytlock love? I dig it!

    • Rytlock Brimstone the plush toy.

    • Rytlock Brimstone the figurine.

    • Rytlock Brimstone the framed concept art.

    • Rytlock Brimstone the in-game miniature.

I now want a Rytlock Brimstone branded flamethrower to round everything out. You can never have enough Rytlock Brimstone. I understand wy they use him so much, though. Of all the five heroes, he stands out the most, so that's a good reason for having him as their poster boy.

    No game's collector's edition is worth $150!

    SWTOR's CE wasn't.

    GW2's CE won't be.

Unless you're adamant about getting a bunch of art you'll look at once or twice and a figureine, it's NOT worth the extra $60. Still, I'm sure there will be a couple of people so fanatically dedicated they buy CE just to help out ANET.

If you're THAT into Guild Wars, the only logical purchase is Digital Deluxe because it's items you can actually use in-game, where it all matters anyway.

This quote system is so funky. That was the best I could do for a direct quote. Usually I manage better, but with odd spacing, but this time it just had to be in another box.

    Anyway!

It wouldn't be a Charr lightsabre, it'd be Asura. The Charr deal with real world tech, it's the Aura that dabble in wibbly wobbly magic hoodoo handwavium. So if you wanted to use a Charr as an example, you'd want to say: Sorry there are no Charr automated missile turrets for you.

WTF are you guys talking about with Buy2Beta? They did the exact same thing with GW1, I still have my CD Key to get into the GW1 beta events somewhere around here.

Amusing to me all these people that act like this is all something new. That you're only just NOW taking notice of the franchise if anything means you should do a bit of research before you start complaining :

EDIT : And yes, I agree, 150 for a collectors is never going to be worth the price for the average person. It's for people that got to have it all, the artwork, the figurine, the soundtrack, etc. There are people that will find value in that but it's above and beyond the game. The majority of us care only about the game, which is why there's an option to buy just that. But a LOT of work and care goes into making those figurines, which is why they significantly raise the price. I will be getting the deluxe though, both in support of Anet and for the ingame goodies. They're not particularly powerful, but years from now just like GW1 items, they'll be a way to show I was there from the beginning.

Also, yeah. It's not buy to beta at all, I agree.

It's buy to ensure a place in beta. Otherwise you have the same chance as the people who signed up. The vast, vast majority of MMOs doesn't even do unpaid betas any more.

    ---

Not taking a shot, here, just an honest comparison...

Consider TOR. You had to pay extra for the preorder as the only way into the beta. So... yeah. ArenaNet had sign-ups for those two days for people who don't want to pay their way in. Like I said, most MMOs don't even do that these days.

I'm going to get CE edition  give Rytlock to my nephew(age 10) let him do what it do, keep the rest, because I have the money, no complaint, I wouldn't get it if I have to buy that and end up spending twice as much by the end of the year.

Honestly though I'll be getting the Deluxe though.

Quote me and let's keep bullshitting gogogogogo!!!

Well, if you don't want to account for the difference between hard light and fire, sure. Not to mention that Sohothin isn't of Charr construction, which was entirely the point!

Very psyched about pre-order details. I think a June release is looking more and more likely!

I think a lot of retailers aren't going to be too happy about the shorter headstart, but it means more profit for NCSoft to sell digital editions, (no wholesale pricing and other expenses related to shipping physical products).

I'm on the fence about the physical CE, but no matter what I decide, I'll be pre-purchasing from Arenanet on April 10th!

I can't wait to get my hands on the game! I would definitely play the beta (even though I don't play betas like ever) just to try it out :)
