    Yup I did and when I try to reregister my CD key it says that has been asigned to account (gives my email addy) When I use my email addy to reset my password it prompts me to enter my new password. I do so and says my password is changed. I goto log in and it says I need an account to access this page. Its a fun little loop.

    As to why I am not asking for a refund and walking away is because I think the game looks solid and being a huge DAoC PvP fan I think GW2 has everything I have been looking for in a new MMO for more years then I want to admit. Been MMOing to long lol.

    You attack me for what I am doing but people like me are what make companies change how they handle things and when ANet does and you have a problem and you go that was easy you can thank me then. Its like anything else the things easy in life you enjoy came on the blood and effort of others. Often with much ridicule. You think freedom of speach was just handed out? Labor rights? You think corporate ginats didnt resisted the idea of the BBB when it came out? You jump on me for expressing my problems with NCsoft and I am upset at the people that didnt tell me how bad their customer service was. You are mad at me for going to the BBB but thats a right I have as a consumer when I feel a company is not adressing me or my problems with their product. My reply from the BBB says they take this matter serious and ANet has already been sent my claim. 

    EDIT: Im not dropping this because I am trying to get NCsoft attention. So they fix my problem and also to make them see they need to address how they look after customer service. With the product I see, I hope I am here for a long time.

    First off, i'm not attacking you....

    Did you have a GW1 account? Did you use the same email addy for GW1/GW2 if you did? If so, try using your old password, try different Caps for any reason, I've been seeing people say when linking accounts you get a NCSoft account? Do you have one of those? if so try those login crudentials. Yes i disagree with going to BBB within a matter of a day, but I MYSELF never brought that up, hearing that you PvP'd in DAoC just jumped my respect for you up a little bit :) Even if you were an Alb.

    I'm trying to help you, while i may not know the fix to the problem, sometimes putting 2 minds to it will for some reason spark the right idea, So, what have you done OTHER than A, B, and C that they have told you to do? Did you have a GW1 account? all that kind of stuff matters. And what was A, B, and C that they told you? In order for people to help you, we have to fully understand what is going on, your OP didn't do that.

    The "Youtube Pro": Someone who watches video's on said subject, and obviously has a full understanding of what is being said about such subject.

    In Nanfoodle's defense, I've had the same issue he is having for more than 2 weeks now and have submitted regular tickets/updates. I am back in queue with their live chat to see if they will recognize that the last live chat fellow told me I needed the 'elevated' tech support (in live chat).

    4 hours thing was used as an analogy, hence the "that's like..."

    Listen, I'm not saying I approve of their CS it might be total shit, sounds like it is not at all good, but that doesn't change the fact no matter how bad it is that 15 hours is way, way, way too soon to report someone to the BBB in this situation.

    That is my point. Not defending anyone or anything other than sanity and logic.

    1. changed my password on the GW2 forums

    2. Tried useing my email addy as the username and username@ncsoft

    3. Logged into my GW1 trial account at NCsoft and changed its password

    4. reregistered my CD key to see what account name it was asigned to and its my current email addy

    5. changed all my passwords to make sure it was under 15 characters (as some had a problem with that)

    6. Made sure all my NCsoft passwords where the same (played many of their games)

    P.S. how did you know I was a Alb? lol, let me guess you were Mid? lol

    OK. I tried to replicate the error message you've been getting and I think I know what the problem is.

    The only way I get the same error message as you is if I enter my GW1 info. If I enter a fictional email, or use my real email with a fake password, I do not get the message saying "you need a Guild Wars 2 account".

    So, I'm guessing that you used the same email for GW2 that you used for your trial of GW1, but did not link the accounts.

    If so, expalin this to support and ask for help linking your GW2 account to your GW1 account.

    No try more like ANet has not done a good job of looking after this process for 3 weeks and I got sick of tweets saying they are working on it. Broken links in the confermation emails. No mass emails saying they know they have a problem and working on it. Till I told my friend they were working on it he had no clue as he does not use forums, facebook or twitter. For me, since they have taken my money I have been bewildered.

    That's because you are getting automated responses. Which rarely if ever are helpful. Most of the time it's not a rep that sends those, it's completely automated and simply reacts to keywords.

     

    Looks like your best bet is to either A: wait which I know is not the best of options, B: attempt to reach live chat support somehow, which your schedule doesn't really allow. or of course C: get a refund. And I know your reasoning for not wanting to do that as well, "like the looks of the game".

    I would agree none of these options really help at present, and it does show a lack of support on behalf of the company.

    Well I know he wants to play. If I had the money I would just buy another copy, make a new account, and then refund the other purchase. His wife has a copy and it would kill me having to sit there watching her...I might have to find a way to lose power in the house. :D

    For people who plan to register a GW2 pre-purchase, if you also have a GW1 account AND your GW1 login name is an email address, don't use that same email address to register GW2, just to be safe!

    3 weeks? Are you sure of that? Game is for sale since 10 of April.. And you didnt have that problem on april 10 for sure. You have this problem for less than 2 days...

    And this is a beta test, problems always happen, i understand you arent happy but at every single beta someone wont be happy about something, there are always problems. Out of hundred of thousands that bought the game you are one of the few with this problem if not the only one. If it was some kind of a bug it would have thousands of players with the same problem.

    Be pacient and all will be solved :)

    I was messing around with my master account at NCsoft as I was getting no help from NCsoft and all their ideas to fix this was not working. I was resetting passwords again and just as I was getting frusterated that the steps I have been given still dont work. I decide to change what master email I have listed on my account. Well I goto the forum log in and BANG I get in using my new email addy as the username. I logged into the client and got that nice message as well saying, your account is set up for beta. NCsofts customer service still sucks but looks like I get to play Friday!!!!!

    Planning on contacting the BBB or just leaving that little gem floating out there for Anet.  If I could have my way, I would make sure your money was refunded and your account was invalidated.  I hope I end up on a server you're not on, I've had enough of your type.

    Ya I was waiting to read about it in the news and how he had barricaded himself in the house, SWAT had just rescued his wife from him attempting bodily harm to her to get her copy of GW2. He was shot and killed by the SWAT team and his last words were 'I hate NCSoft but love the BBB".  hehe! 

    Again I'm very glad you get to play.

    Anti-climactic is being kind. Sorry but someone ranting on forums and really  not asking for some help troubleshooting is pretty sad when in less later than 24 hrs, Lo and Behold, he solved his problem.

    Had the time been used with a clearer head and less whining, it might have been fixed sooner.

    Internet is just so emo nowadays...
