sorry to sound like a bit of an ass after all of this - but as i said from the start, not over reacting, basic trouble shooting and messing around and voila you fix it yourself without having to complain and over react about Anet / NCSoft - again if i come off as being arrogant or an ass so be it, but my point was valid and true... it worked for me and now it's worked for this guy, if you're smart enough to play an MMO you should be smart enough todo basic trouble shooting on your account. Simple.
thankyou for your time ladies and gentlemen i'll be here all week
I know it can be frustrating but all the complainers fail to understand one thing. This is still in beta, and a lot can go wrong. You aren't the only customer. They launched the pre load wednessday (in europe atleast), now seeing this topic alone i see a lot of people had some troubles. Imagine how many people there where world wide with problems and you exspect a awnser within 15 hours? They probally get a giant load of emails from people who have this or a likewise problem and even if they are fully staffed they don't have thousands of employees to adres the problems.
My experience normally with Anet and NCsoft is that they respond rapidly and being very helpfull even though the problem was my own damn fault.
Give them time and try out things for yourself. Don't blame them for your own unknowing. And with that i mean that you fail to realise you aren't the only customer they have, they got thousands if not millions and a x % of them have problems. Be patient and wait while trying things for yourself. Just ask help on forums as well without going into anger mode and shout "FAIL ANET" while everyone knows you will be shouting "OMFG ANET IS SO DAMN AWESOME THEY PWN" a few days later (or the beta will be a disapointment in that case you probally won't cheer for Anet).
But really people need too understand that they are in a testing phase, everything can go wrong, this is not a trial version. You aren't entitled to anything. You are participating into testing, that is all. People have began to believe its their own play time that they deserve when buying a MMORPG. But beta's, closed and open are nothing more than test phases for the devs. If it doesn't work for you, too bad, report it as detailed as possible and hope that you get acces before the end of the beta and otherwise wait for the next beta or release. If things like this with accounts happen when the game gone retail then sure you can complain about if they keep sending a automated response that isn't helping you one bit and you been waiting for over 24 hours.
I was messing around with my master account at NCsoft as I was getting no help from NCsoft and all their ideas to fix this was not working. I was resetting passwords again and just as I was getting frusterated that the steps I have been given still dont work. I decide to change what master email I have listed on my account. Well I goto the forum log in and BANG I get in using my new email addy as the username. I logged into the client and got that nice message as well saying, your account is set up for beta. NCsofts customer service still sucks but looks like I get to play Friday!!!!!
Glad to hear it!
Now you can put all that frustration behind you, lol.
If you pop back in here Digna hope you have the same success soon. Bummer it seems you're still having problems
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
To be honest I always had issues with NCSoft support, took me like 3 days to get into my GW1 account because I couldn't remember any character's names (what a f'd up system?!)
But once I DID get the ball rolling after a few automatic responses, it was about as good as expected for a MMO company - which is not very lol
I actually changed the password, linked to GW1, changed e-mail, and re-did password again to get my GW2 login working.
They certainly have some things to work out before launch...
But my original post STILL stands-
15 hours is far, far, far, too short a time to go to the BBB - completely and total over reaction OP.
Glad you got it working finally though, GG and GL in game!
