So you are saying I would deserve prison or jail for "assaulting" someone.
Dont take my word for it. If you actually start acting out your fantasies about punching guys on buses you'll find out for yourself. But I hope you dont, because then we wouldnt have you here to say such funny things

When you get a chance look up how the federal government is now allowing privatizing of jails and prisons. That'll shake you up a little. Heck, I'll help you out with that.

Originally posted by Clywd You Don't need replayability in tsw by design. There are no twinks. Swtor? Lol.
So what do you do when you finish all of the missions?
The same thing you do in every other mmo?
There is raiding and nightmare modes at endgame I mean what do you do in every other mmo when you reach endgame you either start raiding doing endgame dungeons or quit basically....
If anything at least we know with what they have done with AOC that in a year or two it will be worth coming back too just to check out again and see how much they have actually turned it around....
So then you understand how rules bend and bow. That's all I was trying to get at. Have a good night.
I'll tell you what I *do* know: the people who the rules bend for arent going around punching guys on buses. They are power players and are breaking the law on a much higher level than that
Its pretty obvious that F2P is the direction that the MMO industry is heading, and the recent news of TOR only reinforces that. With that in mind, how long do you think it will be before TSW goes F2P? And do you think they actually *plan* on going F2P after they have recouped the development cost from box sales and subs?
Errr... tomorrow, at 1:43 PM CDT - didn't you get the memo?
Seriously, how you can pull a rather general "fact" out of your arse and pretend that this will be the set future for a MMO that has not even be released, I don't know...
are you by any chance also working on a theory that the sun will explode on Sunday and we should all buy lots of tin foil because today you saw an ant turn left when you thought it would turn right?
Okay, seriously, you have to understand that how a game fares is based on how the market reacts to it, and in turn the game publisher will react to the market's reaction.
TSW is unique in many ways (setting, skills over class, game style, etc.) so it may just ring true with a good share of MMO gamers out there, enough to give it a solid subscriber base in FC/EA's eyes.
Or they may see it as a fail and pull the plug completely after a short while.
This remains to be seen.
So, why don't you give things some time to progress?
Oh, yeah, because the sun explodes on Sunday... silly me... except the way you draw conclusions from SWTOR data... well... I think there may actually be a chance we'll see Monday ;-)
Seriously, SWTOR going F2Plvl15 is a far cry from SWTOR going full F2P!
I don't think it was yet officially confirmed what would happen if you on your F2Plvl15 choose to go past lvl15, whether you still need to buy the box or can just take out a sub...
the thing is if it's the latter it makes perfect sense as the next "evolutionary" step for SWTOR: they've gotten as much out of the box sales as they can, now they are basically offering KOTOR3 for $15 - and yes, pretty much all of the SWTOR hater say that SWTOR would have made for a good KOTOR3.
And once the player is done with a character story, he notices that you have more character stories, alas under the the same faction with lots of already familiar quests but under the other faction completely new! So, maybe KOTOR4 is worth another $15?
whichever way a game publisher can make money, they will try to make it. So your F2P dreams are probably still a long while off for SWTOR.
But hey, on the other hand the sun may actually explode on Sunday... *shrug*

This isn't NCsoft playing high school politics with developers, it's FunCom trying to make money off their own investments in any way they can. Use AO and AoC as a clear example of where this game will go if the income from subs don't hold up to expectations...

Now that everyone has been so kind to answer the poll, I wonder if the OP will repay the favour by giving us his reasons for asking the question in the first place.
Although he does of course always want something for nothing...
