Caffine is addictive. They used to put Cocaine in Coca Cola hence the name. But they made cocaine an illegal substance so then needed some other addictive drug to keep people bying there product so they choose caffine.

I don't think as many people are actually actively supporting the war on drugs as there are people doing drugs.

I said that im not sure if it should be legal, I mainly lean towards not legal. For me I have set standards and I know myself better then anyone, I will never do hardcore drugs. I will probly continue to smoke weed once in a while like on weekends but wont do it too much. I dont drive yet but when I drive my quad I drive perfectly fine. I keep good judgement and I make sure my friends dont do anything stupid. I think weed is bad for some, but so far not to me. The second I see anything negative happening because of weed, I will quit that second.
Hi all. This is a tricky subject, because everyone could have sources, but on this topic you will find that a lot of sources disagree with each other. This in itself is unsettling for me making me not know what to believe at times. Despite this, I think marijuana should be legalized.
I remember seeing a big fat book called "The Ill Effects of Cannabis" (or some such) in the library of a college I live very close to. Surprisingly, no matter how many studies I read about: private, government, and otherwise, they all seemed to conclude that marijuana had no long-term irreversible "Ill Effects". The format of the book was simple, no chapters or anything, it was more like a dictionary just simply stating the findings of all these studies. For the purpose of this argument I will believe this book.
I think at the very least, marijuana should be legalized to offer a healthier, less addicting (and not physically addicting), recreational substance than alcohol or tobacco for people. Not to mention people still have a greater degree of control when high as opposed to being drunk. People don't serious things they regret as often or lose their ability to consent while high as often as people do when they're drunk. I don't advocate driving while stoned. Someone earlier posted that it's easier for younger kids to get mj than alcohol and IT IS! a lot easier in some places. The difference is the age requirement for alcohol.
Pot needs to be legalized to keep otherwise law-abiding citizens from having to associate with and be thrown in jail with real criminals. If it were legal, users would not have to worry about laced mj. In the Netherlands where it is tolerated a lower proportion of the population smokes than in the U.S.
If it were legal and out in the open people could find much healthier ways to do it. Well it sounds easy but no one has done it with tobacco. But it seems advancements could made with vaporizers and eating it has almost no lasting effects.
Mj isn't as addictive, because generally any tolerance can be lost after not smoking for a while. In some cases, it can produce a reverse tolerance. This explains why many people don't feel the effects the first or sometimes the first few times they use it. People claim that THC becomes stored in the fat and affect the user for a long time after the high wears off, but this is not true, the THC is converted into a different molecular form and does not produce any effects.
Cannabis is much less harmful than cigarettes, because you don't need to smoke nearly as much. Some people talk about how much more tar a joint woudl have compared to a number of cigarettes anyway, but what about just one bowl of legal or legally homegrown pot? If it were legal and legal for people to grow small amounts for personal use, it would be of a much higher quality.
Much of what is bought in the U.S. is poorly grown, sun-dried, compressed, and shipped for thousands of miles; all of which decreases the amount of THC in it. With more THC users would have to smoke less, and take in less carcinogens and tar. I think it's funny that everyone talks about gateway drugs when so many kids drank alcohol before anything else.
In regards to the author of this post, I want to say moderation is the key. Anyone can sit around and toke, but you're only going to be young once. That sounded cheesy, but seriously remember to spend time doing things you simply will not be able to do later either physically or because of work and obligations. Always have a couple of good hobbies; things that you really enjoy just as much when you're not high.
" it does make me a more laid back person and people have really been starting to like me more now"
Rofl that sentence show's me how screwed up a person view can become. Thats like saying that folks like you better when you drink beer. You only think they do at the time till you sober up.
No not when im high, just my personality period. Im not so arguementive, and I dont care what peopel think about me, I dont do this stuff to be cool like alot of others.
Personal responsibility for one's own actions has been left up to the government for too long.We look to the feds to fix our problems and guide us through our life.

Fellow Americans your government believes YOU are too stupid to make well informed decisions about your life. This is evident in your everyday life.

Drug legalization is less about access to it and more about personal responsibility.

For soft drugs, I think it should be legalised for medicinal used and as pain relief for the 40+. However IMO, it need to remain illegal for the younger folks unless they are in heavy pain and the doctor choose this to relief pain. I would be extremely soft on enforcing it and would more scare peoples then arrest them, unless they plainly show they are not scared, then it is insult toward the police forces which is a much worser crime then actually cheating on this.
Peoples need stuff that is illegal but that the police pretty much close their eyes on(except maybe a few confiscations and scaring when they ''caugh'' the rebels, it is a game and yes, policemen duties are also to play such games).
If you plainly legalized it, then the folks that need to do illegal stuff would do MUCH worser stuff. When they are already doing something illegal even if more or less enforced, they dont really feel they need to endanger themselves for real.
Drinking beer and using drugs is like a temporary softcore suicide, as long as you dont allow suicide to be legalized and encouraged, neither should the use of such items be.
Hard drugs should always remind illegal and sentenced should be as hard as possible. Alcool and cigarette smoking should not be encouraged and legalized the way they are, there need to be a stop and an hinderance in them, althought nothing major and massive, there need to be a discouragement.

and those that are saying BAN IT BAN IT, havent tried it.
basically there is no one who can say they stand on middleground.

kiamde when its a discussion about marijuana why bring up opiates??? plz explain im talking just legal for a prescription by a doctor not making it legal for everyone. by legal by prescription i mean laws in effect so people with a prescription dont get busted as they do now. medical pot in many states are legal right now but a cop who doesnt like it can bust those with a prescription and that is wrong. they need laws in effect to stop that BS before its ok.
its a choice people make to smoke weed.
its like one of us going to a cocaine forum and saying try weed its better for you it doesnt make sence to me just to get a raise. thats not how i work maybe you do kiamde. although you can look up opium shakes and you will learn back in vietnam and before opium shacks you went there did your drug and they didnt let you leave till you came down very little crime happened when those where widely used.
Kiamde have you tried weed, and gotten high? It is true that people who have never smoked it are against it, and people who have done it are for it. I think I may quit, im loosing so many friends over this. People think that it is going to kill me, when it cant.
well implying kiamde and saying are 2 differant things if you mean it that way then say it that way dont be vague. most people arent mind readers. thank you and just explian yourself better then.

my personal feeling are this i hate all drugs, most of the reason i quite booze was because my friend died behind the wheel, because he smoked too much weed. mind you he wasnt my best friend but he was someone i would eat lunch with at school so i was still pretty shaken.
so i hate it because it is dangerous. i think booze is too. i think legalizing marajuana and other drugs is horrible.
Not as bad as the fact that nicotine is still legal, when it is the worst one in my mind.
