All for a skill based game that means you get better as you use it, but they have to be able to stop macro bots quickly or perma ban 1st time offenders or first time ones to make it clear that it won't be tolerated.
How many delicate flowers have you met in Counterstrike?
I got a case of beer and a chainsaw waiting for me at home after work.
Well Smed has mention Druids so i'll take that as a chance that EQN will most lightly have a class system.
Beastlord.. This class was not your ranger/hunter class that late mmo comers would think. More of a Shammy with a pet, similar class i can think of is Vanguards Tuurgen Shaman.
Bard.. What can we say about the EQ bard other than WOW! Only bard that can come close is the Vanguard bard.
Wizard.. Yes i loved my EQ wizard, it was my first caster class and i learned how to kite. I also loved his gate spells and having other players rely on me before Luclin and the Nexus expansion.
I would also like some new classes along the lines of Vanguards Disciple and Bloodmage.

EQ was semi skill based game in the sense that the more you used a spell the better you became at using it.
Remember "fizzle" perhaps not if you didn't play the game.
Coercer/Illy (I imagine it will be one control focused class)
SK
Wiz
Druid
Necro has been my #1 for a while now. EQ just seems to do them right. I LOVE control classes, so I will also absolutely be rolling one of those. SK's are just fun to stomp everything with, and EQ2 made them AOE monsters. The other two..I can't imagine EQN without a Wiz or a Druid. If transportation in the game at release is more dependent on hoofing it across the world, getting a boat, or plying the services of someone who can port, for sure I will be rolling a Wiz. I used to have a pretty good source of income porting people around from EC tunnel.

If it's a sandboxy kind of game we're going for, then a classless system with a skill cap suits my fancy. There would have to be tons of useful spells/abilities, and I mean really useful, or everyone will have the same stuff. If done right, it could be pretty damn awesome.
I want classless but not roleless, with option to switch roles and build role subsets combined with skills.. owait that is what they are making . Aside from that, on an abstract level:
Various CC, mind, root, snare, stun, confuse, fear.
Versatile buffers, interesting debuffing, songs (real songs not eq2 crap), auras, melee and ranged pet classes.
Healers of all kinds, brute force, pro-active healing, shielders, regenerators, battle clerics, healing based on damage or combos (like vanguard), bloodmagic.
Tanks who doesn't just taunt but actively has to block creatures way and LoS, throw nets or magic to pull mobs away from squishies, pushback and so on. Basically be more about positioning themselves and working with the groups positioning, more than hit taunt button and grab aggro.

Ohhh, I forgot about fizzle...
I gotta add this to my list...
Anyways, I hope this will be in for the "hardcore" servers atleast. Well, it's really nothing hardcore about it, so should be in for both versions...
If they do classes I would like to see all the original classes from EQ they all had a use. If I had to pick my top 5 classes it would be:
Chanter
Bard
Shammy
Ranger
Monk
SK
I like that every class was wanted in a group.
Necro
Coercer/Illy (I imagine it will be one control focused class)
SK
Wiz
Druid

Wizard
Shadow Knight
Fury
Monk / Bruiser
Coercer
Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!
Druid
Bard
Shaman
Enchanter
Red Mage :P
So if they don't allow PC ninjas can we assume we are constantly surrounded by NPCs ninjas?
My list:
Necro, Enchanter, Bard, Paladin, Ranger

That is indeed the safest assumption.

Asus GeForce GTX 760 Video Card - 2GB GDDR5, PCI-Express 3.0
Kingston HyperX Fury Blue 16GB
Ranger = Favourite class ever.
Paladin
Necro
Cleric
Warrior
If there is no Ranger then im not playing, ever.....never ever! not ever......and ill moan and complain forever, and ever, always.
Assuming that any class is a go:
Herald of Xotli (AoC) - melee based mage dps
Blood Mage (Vanguard) / Chloromancer (Rift) - healer/mage hybrid that heals by linking to mob and doing dps.
Burglar (LoTRO) - extreme versatility, scout-type dps, mezzing, invisibility, group coordination
Fixer (AO) - scout dps, speed, HoTs, travel, disarm, trap-open
Entertainer (SWG) - viable non-combat classes are a must and SWG is the only game to do them right.
If you only want EQ/EQ2 classes - honestly, i am not hugely attached to any particular one.
Defiler - because that's what i play and enjoy. Hopefully they'll get rid of the pet though, i never wanted to be a pet class.
Beastlord - i don't play one and probably wouldn't play one, but people really seem to like them and the idea of taming different pets is pretty cool.
I can't really name anymore. Most EQ2 classes are pretty standard fare that can be found in any fantasy MMO.

NO CLASSES
Titles, sure, but only skills and attributes should exist with point caps a la UO. No classes, no levels.
