I wouldn't be surprised if the new ex pack they're working on brings a lot of people back to wow. There still isn't anything as good if wow is what you're really looking for.
It is normal to have some spike in sub numbers due to a new expansion, it also happened to Cataclysm and MoP, but right after that there will be another major loss.

Oh, and luckily? Your doubt plays no role in this matter.
P.S.: I doubt this is in anticipation of WoD, which is pretty far off. It's far more likely it's due to further let downs in this market space.
LOL.
I stopped playing WoW long ago, but it's nice to see a sub game actually gaining subs in these dark times. Very interesting news, and thanks for sharing OP.

Good for them. I was planning on coming back to WoW in preparation for Warlords but I'm still enjoying my time with ARR. Once my interest wanes I'll be heading back to see how things are panning out in Azeroth.

Well, by using my WoW fan logic I can figure that since all the losses were from China where it "doesn't matter", all the returning subs are definitely in NA.

Its a mmorpg forum and this involves an mmorpg?
I was considering resubscribing myself. So I guess others have that in mind as well and went ahead!

I'm sure someone will claim:
100K US
100K EU
7.6M Asia who pay 3 cents and are all gold farmers
7.8 million but how many are Chinese? Their subscription model is very different than EU and NA, by the day rather than month.
