How many N/A subs that pay, this is not counting starter accounts and ones just activated. Show me that number. You'll never see it.
I'm still waiting for the numbers that prove some other MMO is doing better than WOW. I asked for it quite awhile back in this thread.
And for the millionth time it doesn't matter where the players are. The fact is it has more than any other MMO. You can have your own opinions but you're not allowed your own facts.
Blizzard is not engaging in fraud - they are just counting hourly renters as subscribers. Its like counting people making the minimum wage as middle class. Where are you getting the fraud thing? Blizzard fully discloses their numbers.
Unemployment is another good example. Its always around 7 or 8 percent. But that's because so many people give up looking for work. The amount of people not working is gigantic. Just like Obama and other presidents manipulate the economic numbers - its not lying. Its playing with statistics.
Blizzard have a very clear and transparent definition of what they count in their numbers as a subscriber, you do not accept that definition, that is your problem, not theirs. They define what is within the numbers and report those numbers, clear and simple, no fudging, no playing with the statistics, laid out in plain English (and whatever other languages they publish in).
Its fudging because the redefine the word subscriber. Hertz doesn't call me a subscriber when I rent their car. I am not a subscriber to a newspaper when I buy one issue. Yes they tell you what they mean by subscriber but it doesn't match the generally accepted definition of the word.
Should the NYT start calling people who log into their website once but pay no money 'subscribers.' and lump them in with the people that pay every month for the electronic and print versions. I guess if you were running them you would approve of this plan. But most people would cry foul.

Now Blizzard did change the definition slightly (by including trial accounts), where before only actual subscribers were counted. But that's not what you're arguing (which is all over the map hoping something "sticks").
Anyone now even mentioning China+subscriptions are completely behind the loop, especially with MoP.
