I am having a blast in playing the game and have lost all interest in Wildstar and its release. Elder Scrolls Online is a mmo I can sit down and enjoy and with the RP the guild I am in does it never feels like a grind.
I never wish doom to any game, there are always players that enjoy. And wanted to try TESO but when have discovered wasd is enforced, did not even bother to try, that is for me top condition to play any game. I love games where i can move avatar with mouse and using left hand on top numbers for spells. Period.
About TESO so I can not speak from 1st hand .. but ... son of a friend have group of 10 friends that purchased TESO. Even before free time expired, 8 of them resold their copy, 1 was happy and still playing as I know (info is few weeks old), last one sold it to his brother.

You are a WoW fan. ESO certainly would not be for you. It's different from the art style, to the skill system, right down to the controls.
My guild, same as a friends guild, who are established guilds having played a few other mmos over the years are all loving ESO. Only last week we convinced two guild mates who havent tried it yet to buy it.
We range from slow levelers to vet 12 players and we are all having the best fun we've had in years.
The bugs compared to release are not (usually) gamebreaking, often we find them amusing.
Many of the things some people have rage quit are things that we think have made the game much better, such as the vamp nerf. PvP became unfun for a very short period when people abused the vamp, as soon as it was nerfed it became fun again for the majority.
I PvE about 4 nights and PvP the other 3.
PvP I'm on Bloodthorn in EU, I was never a fan ov PvP in most other games, I love it in ESO.
I see a good amount of people wherever I go, whether low level alts or my main which I've judg got to vet 1 with.
On launch just like any other mmo, all players were under each others feet. Now in public dungeons I am never alone, at the same time there arent 100s of others making it zero challenge.
Sure things need working on, sure tberes a bot problem, but things are getting better every day,
My main, the first 3 islands, bugs galore, public dungeons so many bots on bosses you were lucky to get a hit.
One of my alts, same 3 islands, not one serious bug, not one bot on dungeon bosses, like playing a completely different game.
My main has just reached v1. After the first 3 islands, there so far hasnt bedn any further bot problems (on bosses) and I have completed all quests (have a few left in cold harbour) and one serious bug which I saw in the recent patch notes has besn fixed.
As of last Friday my /played averaged me playing for 4 hrs 45 mins every day for the 62 days since release.
No one in my guild is constantly moaning about the game, no one ever talks about quitting. It's not a huge guild, around 55 members, few of them read the official forums, I think I'm the only one that posts in the official forum, everyone else are too busy having fun.
Quite simply many people had preconceptions of what the game was going to be like and for many, it simply isn't for them.
I've played various mmos over the years, playing both EQ2 and Lotro for many years each. I can easily see ESO being the next long term game.
I get a lot of people didn't enjoy the game for whatever reason, I just hope those people soon move onto something they enjoy rather than constantly run down what I think is the best mmo for years, especially when most posters doing this aren't even playing anymore.
I could understand if you have invested a year or more of your time (and money depending on mmo) ina game you have fallen in love with, and the devs change the direction of the game meaning it's no longer fun for you, then I think it's perfectly valid for you to stick around on the gaming forum if you stop playing.
What I don't get are the players sticking around the official forum (or posting in ESO parts of other forums) that have unsubbed, constantly slagging the game off, constantly saying it should close now etc etc, hijacking every other thread on the official forums etc, when the game has only been out for 2 months. Sure it's your choice, but for me, when I've played an mmo and didnt like it after my first month, I simply moved on (or back) to one I did like.
Modern Mmorpg are all designed for a tiny bit of grouping and a big arse load of solo content its all casual crap these days all the damn quests are just like playing on rails.
There is no individualism anymore everyone grinds the quest hubs gets the same rewards and solos to lvl up the gear drops like candy and doesnt mean shit anymore you lvl to max in 2 days gold spammers and botters make theyre cash.
Grouping means nothing its a hindrance in all modern mmops ppls hate to group cause its never worth it .
Im kinda done with mmoprgs they make such crap with 200 or 300 millions just to rake in some cash a motivated designer team that likes to make a good coop game could create a 10000000x better game with that much Money.
GIVE ME A COOP GROUP no fucking solo quest grind MMO copy ddo copy EQ copy UO and mix them togheter but dont copy any other Mmos out there it just would make the game worse

This game needs a wipe + relaunch alongside serious content additions and changes, and the removal of VR as a mandatory "bonus leveling grind" which in reality acts as a level 62 cap rather than stopping at 50.

This. And the stories weren't varried enough either. After saving a ghost, or not, for the 100th time I got completely bored of the quest dialouge and then the grind really sank in.
Wasted my money on buying it as I thought I would at least get through the fire 50 levels before quitting. Oh well, the physical CE is a nice mantel piece.
I have noticed that the game is getting even better now that the haters are not paying to complain and doing it here.

One quest, I'm sneaking around following some guy trying not to be spotted, another I'm tracking a rare tiger, and so on. There certainly could be more variety. Plus whenever a quest actually does require you to kill something, there's usually a good reason, and it's not because there's a kill quota (which is the really silly thing that almost EVERY OTHER MMO does (but ESO does not do). Most of the time if I'm killing something, it's because that something is in my way of my true goal.
Granted, I have not on any of my characters reached a VR level -- most people who are playing now have not, in fact done so. Content has ALWAYS been an issue in new MMOs shortly after launched for those who rush to the end-game. If you are running out of things to do after just over a month or two, then you probably want to take a break, do something else, and come back in six months or so.

My biggest problem with the game is the lack of people in the PVP zone. They launched with way to many campaigns. I have completed all the content up to the new group content. And I mean ever quest in the game up to the newer zone. I am VR 11. The other day I went into the pvp zone for a couple of hours during peak time and didn't run across a single person. I have been in a few keep sieges here and there but nothing really epic. Maybe if they scaled back to 2 or 3 campaigns this would help. I mean to have a zone that big and not run across another player for 4+ hours is boring. I have stopped playing for a little while to wait and see if it picks up later. If it does I will go back.
Overall I like the game and hope it does well, but bored now that the only thing left to do is try and find groups to do quest in new zone.

The fault lies with both the gamers who wanted a Mulitplayer Elder Scroll game (which would be difficult to keep the level of interaction with the world), and with the Developers who didn't deliver that.

It was great from 1-49 levels. Quests, enviroment, music, atmoshphere - made you not think about certain bugs etc
But reaching lvl 50 with my templar made me understand, that ESO right now is in closed beta state at best. Play as you want, like in other Elder Scrolls games? Sure, as long as you are using staff and light armor and actually your class is sorcerer or dragonknight.
The class and build issues are not bugs - all those problems are by design - or to be more precise - by total lack of it. Im wondering, if class and skill designers have ever played any of Elder Scrolls games before.
So... it ended in cancelled subscription. I have never cancelled mmo so fast, i endured Age of Conan 4 months, but i could not imagine, that i will quit Elder Scrolls game after just 2 months.
This is really sad. I hope, that they will review all those issues and redesing and fix all those things, or this game is going to Nine Hells really quick.

IF they actually do release it will be a freaking nightmare. Think about it. How many issues are they having with just the PC version? Now compound that on not 1, but 2 other platforms. How is Zenimax going to support 3 versions of a game with regular content AND bug fixes? They still cant do it on even 1 version

While the bugs are annoying and the bots my ultimate reason for wanting to smack my face into the computer is the ignorance of their current dev decisions in regards to class balance and content. The VR levels are not needed at all and the hard handed nerfs are just getting to the point of stupidity. Biting jabs nerf 1 handed bash nerf ultimate crit gain nerf etc etc. Its like they do not even play their own game sometimes.

I think the game would do well with a re-launch or a big rework.
The engine makes combat feel solid and visceral - its feels fun, the idea of GCD hidden behind animations is a great idea.
Add in the crafting/inventory systems from GW2. The inventory is such a poor design given the amounts of fodder you get
Global AH - you gain so much inventory fodder you need a quick n ezy avenue to move it
The gw2 style option to respec on the fly - its ridiculous to try out different specs, pvp specs, levelling specs and dungeons specs atm.
Add in more dynamic events to break the monotonous leveling grind, the rifts need a rework
Class spec templates would be a help ala Rift - as its too easy to mess your character up when you start

So... it ended in cancelled subscription. I have never cancelled mmo so fast, i endured Age of Conan 4 months, but i could not imagine, that i will quit Elder Scrolls game after just 2 months.
This is really sad. I hope, that they will review all those issues and redesing and fix all those things, or this game is going to Nine Hells really quick.
Or they played it in Beta and knew not to spend the cash on a mediocre game.
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!

The only outcome is f2p transition? Little dramatic aren't ya? I love this. People start saying that games will go f2p the same month they release. Then.. IF the game does eventually go f2p, even if it's years later - there they are patting themselves on the back. So, when do you think this f2p transition will take effect? Are you just going with "sooner rather then later"?
People started with this nonsense before it even came out.....
Now they are angry because people aren't quitting (well outside of the wowkiddies)
I think in 6 months time they'll still here with the same bullcrap that was already false in beta imagine now.....
Honestly, I dont see the Console release happening. I think it will be cancelled.
IF they actually do release it will be a freaking nightmare. Think about it. How many issues are they having with just the PC version? Now compound that on not 1, but 2 other platforms. How is Zenimax going to support 3 versions of a game with regular content AND bug fixes? They still cant do it on even 1 version
Bethesda could barely do it with Skyrim (PS version still has issues and is lacking DLCs)
