Well, there goes my interest in the game. You pay $50 and can only make three characters? That is not acceptable.

PvP-centric games often allow for only one character per account.  Three characters is more than enough.  Goodbye, and good riddance.

So being less ripped off is good? Pvp-centric game has nothing to do with it. It's still an mmo. You buy a game, you get access to all its content. Three character slots doesn't allow that. But yeah, good riddance. I hope you enjoy the game. Not being sarcastic. It's just not for me.

It is not a themepark game that require you to play different class or different faction to get to see all the content you want. Just play one character and even after that you won't be able to see even 5% of the game has to offer. Forget about content you will be overwhelmed with everything that goes on everyday you won't even have the time to keep that one character properly updated with rest of the community.

On a side note: This is exactly what everyone said about ArcheAge. That game is still faceplanted and can't get up...

So in other words it's VERY likely to have a cash shop, right?

    EDIT:

Ok I just saw this on their forum

    • Crowfall is Buy to Play (Buy once).
    • Players who want to support Crowfall can pay subscription of 15 dollars / month for perks.
    • Check the "Pricing FAQ".
    • Each Crowfall account gets 3 character slots, and 1 character passive training slot.
    • Additional character slots, and Personal Player Kingdom (EK) size and population cap can be increased with micro-transactions.
    • Microtransactions are purely cosmetic, or offer additional character slots (Besides the initial 3 slots).
    • Inquisitor looks like an order archetype.
    • Huge lore dump, lovely.
    • Gaea and Arkyn made love, their children was the race of men, and later on, the Elken.
    • Prince D’Orion the Sky Hunter the first [Elken].
    • Gaea and Arkyn didn't really love each other.
    Bye bye Crowfall.

Crow will spread its wings and in 3 months, nosedive. Micro-transactions and Gold sellers will rule here just as they did in AA. PVP taking center stage and priority over what I find important in an MMORPG.

First PC Game: Pool of Radiance July 10th, 1990. First MMO: Everquest April 23, 1999

They can use all the fancy wording they want, but the reality is that most b2p games players only play a short time then move on to something else......You're basically paying 40-60$ for a game you will only play 1 or 2 months.....Those with the console mentailty that isnt an issue as that is how they game too, but those of us that have played MMOs a few years know its a waste of money for the most part.
