This is the very definition of P2W Cash Shop. Of course once the precedent has been accepted the boosts will be much more powerful in the future.
It is a bit funny how you guys are stating P2W based on these 3 things of which only one is in the Cash Shop (revive pot) rest u can get only from the Mileage shop. Ill. just put this here then, people cannot be bothered to click the link and read the article.

Increase Energy Regen +2 & Increase item drop by 20%
As I've said before - and as they are stating the gameplan is the same:
1. At launch - max profits = max "box" sales as it's a B2P game - strategy - minimize cash shop - as this lures players in
2. After launch as box sales decline (this is normal and expected with every game) - increase cash shop sales and items to offset box sales decline
3. Once the box sales and cash shop are not making enough profit - switch to F2P + aggressive cash shop
This is a tried and true strategy - at least they are up front about it
Either way - expect cash shop to become increasingly more aggressive over time
Although that's true but I believe that mostly happens to games which are losing numbers. If a game becomes relatively "successful" and gains players as time passes they wouldn't actually need to make the cash shop more aggressive.
Gaining numbers is something that delays the inevitable. Though as people "vote with their wallet" to no buy something they don't want, so to must they "vote with their wallet" to maintain something. If sales do remain high, then the third stage will be prolonged for the duration. Games require money to operate and update, and developers need to put food on the table.
The whole "it will be P2W" in the future statement that some are talking about is borderline slanderous (potentially racist) to any game and their developers just because it hails from a specific region of the world (that is, it's a stereotype); the word "aggressive cash shop" does not have to mean "Power is purchaseable."
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing). German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century. Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now). I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things). In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while. If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.
Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this. If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own. Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis. Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.
vindictus has this too, it basically makes you invincible, you can just Leeroy Jenkins solo every raid
You died? No problem, *revive* +15 seconds invincibility. Rinse and repeat. You can solo bosses that would take 24 people solo in Vindictus by using revive feathers. You don't have to learn the raid, just revive spam through it.
You have crazy people who played Vindictus who said it wasn't pay2win either, basically, they will argue if you can get it in the game it's not pay2win, even if the cash shop makes you invincible.

I believe the assertion is that said potions are purchasable with the free currency you get just from logging in and doing other tasks. Though without a cooldown, it will turn into a war of attrition that will ultimately be In-game earned points versus In-game earned points and a credit card when it comes to PvP. In that light, I'd imagine restrictions will be made on the potions in the same manner as they are with health potions.

Every Game Loses Players Over Time
In case of Black Desert - players leaving the game after hitting max level is probably the biggest concern for Daum as they've seen a fast decline in playerbase in both Korea and Russia.
The whole push to add dungeons and more PvE content is a way of trying to retain more players post 50 because currently the PvE endgame is lacking in a big way.
"over time" duration is a world of difference. Using that counter argument is like saying every body dies at some point. A game losing numbers in 2 months has to adapt a very different strategy compared to game a losing players after 18 months.
Gaming Rocks next gen. community for last gen. gamers launching soon.
Since when is not limiting items to not be sold on the auction house or w/e is not p2w? Only paying costumers can get a hold of those items or whatnot.
Since when is not limiting items to not be sold on the auction house or w/e is not p2w? Only paying costumers can get a hold of those items or whatnot.
But thats just my point of view.
It's not the only thing, it's one of the factor in stoping it. Also the items in the cash shop won't give you an advantage, so by not them them to be sold by paying players, they can't sell exclusive things for gold and gain a advantage in what ever's controlled by in game currency.
On top of that you have to remember there's two shops, one for real money and one for how long you play the game (mileage shop). It seems any sort of boost will be placed in the mileage shop and cosmetics in the cash shop. The only item that could be considered P2W, is the revival pot, but we don't know if it will have a CD, but I did read you will spawn with next to no HP or MP, so would be pointless in the middle of a battle. Seems more like "I can't be bothered to walk back from town to here" kind of item, but this item isn't exclusive to the cash shop.
vindictus has this too, it basically makes you invincible, you can just Leeroy Jenkins solo every raid
I'd imagine restrictions will be made on the potions in the same manner as they are with health potions.
I don't think so, there were never any restrictions to Vindictus ressurect spam.
In fact you can actually buy a revival feather while you're dead, take out your VISA card, buy NX, revive, and continue solo the raid.
Considering I recognize the people from Vindictus in the Black Desert team, they're the same people, it will be the same.
Game design decisions aren't typically made by one person; games in general are different from one another as a whole. Though doubt may certainly be applied with the fact that an employee of a past game may (or has said) say "hey, this was a money maker back where I was" to the team. Though as a whole, they implemented new potion health restrictions simply because people could not die and there were complaints. To have people not die again -- indefinitely -- will defeat the purpose.
That said, I wouldn't call anyone who spends a small fortune on revive feathers just so that they can avoid mechanics to be a winner. That seems like losing to me... both in being bad at games and with money (losing personal pride and losing money just seems like a loss all around, just so they can beat some PvE monster without trying).

They implemented that in Vindictus too. You can only take 50 cash shop HP potions with you.
But, they are far more powerful than what normal people can use, they allow you to use them during blocks and stuns, and they are far more health restored than what you can get in-gane. They are 4 times as powerful than in-game potions, give or take. And you can stack them with regular in-game potions.
I'm sure it's going to be the same in BDO.
Revival feathers are unlimited like in Black Desert
And you have the same +20 enchant system
The more details come out about BDO, the more the revenue system looks like Vindictus.
The fact people who worked for Vindictus now work for BDO, probably has a lot to do with it, and the fact Korean MMO just ape and copy each other.

Do you ever make a positive post on these forums? It seems that you put most of your effort in trolling whatever game you decide to not like at that moment in time. Who gives a shit about revive potions? The cash shop looks pretty fair to me and it seems like it does for a lot of other people in this thread.
You can post all the pictures you want and repeat yourself 10 more times for all anyone cares. It's still not going to change the fact that they released information about BDO's cash shop and what your saying is nothing more then speculation based on a different game run by the same company. Which in all honesty are 2 completely different types of games.

If you weren't so ignorant you would know that the revive potion does not put you to 100% hp and mp upon revival. It's very little hp and whatever mp you were at upon death, so if you used it during pvp with the guy still there(Or during some bigger pvp fight) you would die rather quickly. Hardly P2W at all. Source is BDO Korea which I guess a lot of you don't play?
the primary function of this potion should be when you die to mobs as you were exploring or something and too lazy to walk back. You wouldn't be using it during PvP when the enemy is still there since you would just die again.
As for the whole belsazar is the same guy, that is fine; as long as the entire Nexon corporation does not transfer over. That's the actual problem, the Nexon corporation; not their ex-employee(He would of been fired or left for various reasons, perhaps he didn't agree with Nexon's decisions eh?). Nobody should play anything by Nexon; they are worse than EA lol
It seems that you put most of your effort in trolling whatever game you decide to not like at that moment in time.
I never trolled, I just said the truth, people didn't like it. I made a Black Desert = Pay2Win thread a few weeks ago, and everyone lost it and attacked me.
I think it's funny that no one can admit it yes, and I like to poke fun at that fact. I like making fun of the fact that Star Citizen is selling $20,000 virtual ships too, because it's ridiculous. If you explained that to a normal person who knows nothing about MMO, they would say those people are insane.
Now that it's actually true that BDO is pay2win, you cry foul.
I said the game will be Pay2Win just like Vindictus....shocker.....it is....it uses the same enchant system, same hp, revive potion, temporary scroll system...I said the game would be just like every Korean game before it....pay2win....it is....shocker.
Who gives a shit about revive potions?
That's fine, so you don't mind the game is pay2win, why do you get upset when I point it out then.

It's more like calling someone's newborn baby girl a ho. It might be true 18 years from now but at the moment you are just doing it because you think it's true
When a Korean MMO makes the Western transition and manages to strip away the P2W for the first time ever I will start to believe it's possible. Until then I have zero faith; these companies all say the same thing at launch and it always ends in P2W (in my personal experience). I also find it worrisome that this game is B2P from the start basically guaranteeing that income will drop drastically after launch unless the existing cash shop turns a hefty profit.
It's really a shame too, there a lot of great ideas going in Korean MMOs these days and many of them could stand up quite well if there was no cash shop foci. Unfortunately it seems like Korean companies view games as assets purely to be monetized as effectively as possible instead of living worlds or a form of art. And the end of the day I support capitalism, but this the part of it that makes me realize the imperfections of it, when a great work is purposely made worse just for the sake of money. It's kinda like painting a soup can over the Mona Lisa because you found out it would sell for more.
All just my opinion based on other KR imports. YMMV, and if you really want to believe this is finally the one that's going to buck the trend then by all means buy until your heart is content. Myself, I'll have to see it (potentially multiple times) before I believe it.
Denial is the reason these cash shop, casino crafting systems keep propagating themselves.
Legions of people are praising Daum even though it is obvious that they are holding back in order to sell as many digital copies as possible.
They want to get as many people as they can hooked in and trained to log-in every day for the daily rewards / energy before they start adding the extreme p2w loot crates and items.
It is much harder to drop a game once you have time invested so you will be much more willing to look the other way and deny the p2w reality.

While I don't totally disagree, I also can't predict the future and assuming the worst will result in not playing any games as from my experience, every single one eventually lets down the initial fan base in some way or another. Pick your poison or stop gaming basically.
If everyone playing accepts the "P2W" I don't really see it as a problem. Some will pay into it, some will play without doing so, and others simply won't play at all.
Is what it is.
On paper, it sounds acceptable for me. If at some point they go crazy (KR isn't really from what I've seen), people will leave and move and on things will continue. Anyone too invested or "trained" probably screwed no matter what if they are that far down the rabbit hole for pixels.
I never trolled, I just said the truth, people didn't like it. I made a Black Desert = Pay2Win thread a few weeks ago, and everyone lost it and attacked me.

Why do you care what people do with their money? Just because you don't drop cash on games doesn't make it insane. Unless someone is selling a kidney or something, I'd assume they can afford buying virtual crap all they want.
The system doesn't look P2W to me and that's the thing, it is subjective and we all have a different opinions/experience. Even if you believe it is a fact, doesn't make it so for everyone else.
Beyond a few convenience things (inventory, pets) I don't see myself spending a ton of cash on BDO for however long I play it.
If it becomes necessary to buy 10000 revive potions to play, doubt the game will last too long in NA and oh well, another game down the drain but I'll take that chance for now.
Currently the revive pots are the only thing that might give someone an advantage and if that's the worst of it, I won't call doom just yet. Don't know the cool down or cost even.
You seem to have had a bad experience with one game and assume the worst for another. Regardless if they have similarities or share devs or whatever, until they are actually the same, they aren't.
Playing forum know it all gets boring after a while, I'd prefer to roll the dice and play a game once in a while.
I find these threads quite entertaining. It's a Korean port. Yeah, it's going to be P2W. They always are. At 1st there will be a nice honeymoon phase and the publisher will be on their best behavior. But Just wait The true colors will show. The real P2W will be in the end game area with RNG modifiers for real cash.
