Mind if I post the truth now ?

It is not live. (the buffs are NOT in LIVE) and the attacker IS flagged PvP and so is the other because the missing flag is in the no branch where is both players flagged? NO. then auto flag the attacked player as in pvp. Go ask on the forums if in doubt and check the most recent developer blog.

Verify Jean-Luc .. is there any XP loss to the unprovoked attacked if killed?  Yes or No?

I understand what you say but there is always some ashhatoles who dont care about it and will make PVE players lives miserable just because they can. Usually these type of  players have several more accounts so they enjoy it.
Here is the bottom line and why the developers are trying to get better OW FFA.

One they changed the flagging system so if you flag neither party takes and consequence. If the one flagging the other attacks he take some karma loss the player he attacks is auto flagged PvP so if that player dies he loses experience and the attacker take more karma hit.

Late game is grind heavy so player that has bad karma has to grind it off BUT still moves the experience bar forward while the player he killed is grind back lost experience and is losing hours making up for not flagging up.

If the above is true, then this is an awful system.  It is grossly unfair to have a player being attacked unprovoked to be experiencing any type of penalty other than death and experiencing the inconvenience of being interrupted with what they were doing and forced to respawn.  I sure hope the above is not the case because if it is, this game will go the way of the do-do really quick.
What they are doing is actually forcing PvE to PvP and possibly cause the attacker loss experience or just man up and do it in the first place. Stupid move in my opinion

P.S. - it is live right now so someone go test it.
Sounds like a great way to totally annoy the hell out of PVE players, if BDO's intention was to alienate PVE players, congratulations, job done.

While there always seems to be a limit to intelligence, stupidity often knows no bounds. :p

    I suspect that is accurate.

Basically SOME in the pvp crowd are good at asking for 'I want to punk pve players!' by obfuscating the request to make it look reasonable

You can't force PVE players to PVP. It will not be accepted, not even a little bit.

If a PVE player is vulnerable to PVP player attacks, the result is always that the PVE player leaves the game, always.

oh I know what they will do and you know I know what they will do.

Maybe the "PvE only" players shouldn't be playing games with pvp?

This in theory should always be a non-issue. And yet we have the same discussion over and over and over again with each game.

I swear, some players make their own little hells.

True, but the fact some PVE purists got enticed into trying this game because there is rarely a straightforward dicussion about MMO, is not their fault.

There are threads and replies that said:

"Black Desert reminds me of Vanguard"
"Black Desert reminds me of EQ"
"Black Desert reminds me of WoW"
"Black Desert reminds me of chocolat mousse"

None of these things make any sense of course.

There is rarely an honest discussion, where someone says:

"If you're a PVE purist who likes raid progression PVE endgame and want a group focused PVE game...Black Desert is not for you".

That being the case, why do developer's design games that are "PvE only" until a certain level and then switch the rules around at end game?  If the game is going to be entirely "PvP-centric" at end game then make the game "PvP-centric" from the get go.  Don't go switching it up and turning a perceived PvE game into a PvP game at end game because then it is a developer's game design that is at fault and not the PvE players fault.  In other words, a good argument could be made that it is the developer who is creating those little hells and not the player.

yeah it sounds like the worst idea ever.

PvP players are going to complain about the grind to get to pvp and the pve players are going to be complain about getting punk.

    this is bad

and then over course there is gender locking classes as an expression of 'sandbox'? really?

Actually there have been numerous discussions about what he game entails. And if you actually read the "Vanguard" thread there are numerous players who discuss why they don't think the game is like Vanguard.

The problem here is that people never do their "due diligence" or have such "personal" expectations that nothing can satisfy them.

I think one can construe from what I said that anyone playing a game that doesn't cater to what they need should not be playing it. Whether that's pvp or pve.

If one is a pvp person or pve person, doesn't matter, don't play games with mechanics that you hate or at least cannot tolerate.

Calling a game a PVE sandbox when its really an OW-FFA PVP game, is a very good example of players getting scammed, but its a great way to make box sales, as the PVE players will buy the game, but won't hang around for long. As long as the PVE players dont try any charge back shenanigans, then the company is laughing all the way to the bank :p
