Someone in the reddit tried that and it's still opening thousands of connections lol they need to buy a new router
Hmmm doesn't do that to me. I have mine from 600 to 10, the down speed at 5 MB/s and playing Grindy Desert Online over it. But again this are the type of annoying issues to debug, there are people who connect their Wi-Fi to Mars that then relays it back to Earth. I guess the problem lies mostly the launcher has default values that are overkilling those people.
For some strange reason CIG haven't changed the default number of max connections (600). They should really bring it down to something more reasonable like 100 which is still way more than enough in most cases.

Oh it's nothing, when I was young my mother used to tell me the dial-up sounds was actually your router receiving a message from extraterrestrial life on Mars, and I believed that for a while
CIG begging people to test out the latest PTU build even if it's just for 5 minutes. Downloading 20GB every day for 5 for 6 bug fixes is taking its toll, they really need to get the delta patching sorted asap
From the last updates, Delta patching is an ongoing dev. It doesn't seem it is as easy as people are around were claiming it was. They are at the moment rolling the first builds to developers to use delta patching, however, it is not yet being used for the actual game builds internally.
They need this as much as players do, after all, they need to download several builds of the game a day so that must be one annoying slow-down.
Yeah writing istory new that's what you guys are good in. Delta Patching is easy .. 1 day of work - delta patching pulled from a revision - 30 years old tech A delta patch launcher that's got the engine in the background though needs an API to Cry and some programming in cry A delta patch launcher with the engine in the background and their Spectrum system build in takes a bit more work like a cry api to www that can understand the spectrum code << That's what they are doing.
But as mentioned earlier the connection thing is undocumented and they couldn't be bothered to set it to a realistic value for months now. They want to show sell the patcher as a new invention because money.
If something so simple takes them so long I guess they just lack of know how to do it, which is no surprise looking at what programming art they've delivered so far

On this video he states they were finalizing the 3.0 production schedule if that's what we are getting it means 3.0 is the next update. When the schedule goes up, the release should be within months for it, we will see.
I'm waiting for the production report because it will outline and show what is going into 3.0, we haven't got much details on it side of its highlights.

If they are only finalizing the production schedule now then wouldn't that mean they still need to actually do the work? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't 3.0 supposed to be a huge update?

You have development on all the fronts, but then you set a milestone and have feature-set of the release locked.
The work is always ongoing, you have your roadmap and plans for it but the details are usually fleshed out and set in stone closer to release. And yes it's meant to be the biggest update to date.

Yeah I get that but if you don't have a production schedule even set then how do you expect your teams to know what to work on? They have a general idea but without an actual ok here's what we need to do then it's all kinda rudderless steering at that point.

There's always schedules on production, they've been working on PG, on AI, and any other section/team of the project has to have their own. The development on there is always ongoing, it's just that moment where they set a milestone that would be on this case "3.0's game build". This has several levels, at first, it's rather superficial then it gets fleshed out as it develops until it is picked to be a part of a release.
You can see it as, PG Planets are in-dev before 2.0, they have their own team, their own schedule, and so forfh, that ofc ties to the needs of the game, until let's put it as the "production heads" say to them their work is part of one of the next releases, then all the details are fleshed out at the production level. This is why they don't need the one "3.0 schedule" to have its features actively developing.
