Hunting for food is good. Hunting for prize is savage. Thats all I'm going to say. By the way, in one McDonald's hamburger, you can eat over 1,000 cows. Very small % but it's still there .

I support anyones right to hunt or fish because hunters aren't just a bunch of yahoos killing everything with guided missiles like you see on South Park. Hunters by and large are very active in conservation efforts, hunting within limits and waste nothing when cleaning the animal. Plus wild game isn't all shot full of chemicals like some of the stuff we are subjected to without knowing. Why can Mcdonalds do it with a bolt gun and hunters can't do it using a rifle? I'm sorry but Moose burgers rock I have had the good fortune of eating them courtesy of my best friends dad mmmmm it's like beef but a tiny bit tuffer and richer
All that having been said, I will hunt wild game ONLY when the grocery stores run out. Until then, I'll eat the ones that are already dead thanks Mmmm moose burgers...
I'm a vegetarian and the whole way the meat industry works makes me sick. It shows no respect for animal or human life -trust me, you don't want to know what they put in your burger-. Modern hunters aren't much better, as there is little skill or "sport" involved in shooting an animal with a long range rifle. Face it, the main reason people still "hunt" is because they like the kill, it makes them feel bigger.

I don't know about you all. But if you're going to turn your back on your instinctual obligations and be tamed by society then go right ahead. I don't hunt simply because I grew up in a non-hunting family. I would hunt given the opportunity. I happen to like deer meat.(which is the most common game animal in my area) When the animal rights activists have their way, we'll surely starve....each and every one of us. So if you have any qualms with hunting, then just put up or shut up cause you can't stop people from doing it.
Some people posted here that they didn't understand why a bear and not a deer or something they can eat. I was just wondering, why can't people eat bear meat or is it just not good?
Ahh... My most favorite of discussions, killing animals. I will take both points of views, the animals and ours . Our point of few.. we kill, we live happily, "civilized" go huntin em, ya'll know, havin us a good time wit our frends . But then again, not smart... I love every movie that has the bad guy explaining humans as a virus, BECAUSE HE'S RIGHT. We are the most violent species of all, when we have the possiblity to be peaceful. We love finding new and improved ways to kill each other, and never have enough room, always taking the property of others. And notice how we live, eat whenever what ever, while other people starve, and then we think, screw it, Im full, screw them. And yeah, some of you might say... "well I donate to charity", but pff. Instead of donating, GO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Dont give your money to an orginazation, try and get a few of your friends together, put in some money and help some people out.. Just ah.. Im pretty much just like that too, but we humans havent lived that long, and will be living a maximum of another 200 years. At the kiling rate we are going, and at the ignorrance of america.... NOT EVERYONE, BUT ALOT.......... and the violence many middle eastern countries, and with no help with many countries that could.. This is all becoming.... ah. SImple as all, eventually we will learn to watch what we eat, there will be no big time companies kililng of animals... and hunting is just wrong, I mean i fish, and I know thats wrong, but there are much more fish than deer, and im sure deer are a bit smarter. But really people, yes we have our human insticts but atleast try to control those. I mean, seriously, how much joy does it bring you to just pull a trigger. Thus I hate hunting... while fishing is defeiantly more of a challenge.. ya gotta try and hook, then big fish reel em in, finding good spots.... anyone could take a hand gun, see a deer and blow it to bits with a few shots...... And another thing, I love this whole evolution, how funny until a species more evolved than humans come into play, and do some nasty to shit to us...ahh.. the irony will be revealed .
tho your post is largly unreadeble, I largely agree with you we're basically committing slow suicide as a race, and most people probably realise it but decide to rather stick their head in the sand
on your comment toward the ignorance of america, I'd say it's more of a worldwide ignorance, americans are just the more vocal
thrill and serial killers enjoy the violence in the killing of others; especially in "lesser" lifeforms even taking "trophies." Scavengers eat what others kill (shoppers in the meat section of grocery stores,) lame predators using rifle, bow, blade just use technology to give them an advantage over stronger prey that allows the 'hunter' to safely kill another being.
Since most humans consider themselves beter than ALL other lifeforms, it is ok for them to kill even if they do not consume (either raw or cooked) the trophies even if it is not a question of survival... somebody has to trim the herd, while the world population approaches 6,600,000,000. That is a herd needing triming.
The trophy-picture is just a symptom of mental illness. The thing is many people do not see it as an illness (the hunting or/nor the trophies.) Humans are better, and what ever they do is ok, mayby less ok doing it to 'inferior' fellow humans, but the strong will survive, especially if they are equiped with nuks, or other high tech weapons!
I believe in both creationism and evolution (pretty much I see it as God created everything life needed and put in evolution so life could go its own way without his direct help) but thats besides the point.
I think hunting for food is right, and is not wrong, but hunting purely for the hell of it is wrong, disgusting, and pretty stupid. Animals were there for human survival before we had agriculture, they provided clothing when we did not know how to make cloths out of other materials. They're bones provided us with tools before we knew how to make them out of anything else.
Do I think putting cows on a slaughter line is wrong? Mostly yes, they still provide food, but Id rather not think about that horrific sight.
In conclusion, This guy in the picture is dumb, and I would whack him in the head with a wiffle ball bat. Thats my 2 cents anyway.
Edit: And yes, its likey that our apocalypse will be caused by us destroying ourselves, that "World will be destroyed by fire" thing in the bible can be related to Nuclear bombs, and we'll be the laughing stock of any other intelligent life out there I bet.
I think it's the objective of your past self to make you cringe.
Hm. If you were trying to generate a rational discussion, you might try two things: one, drop the unnecessary foul language/abbreviations for foul language (WTF, etc.); and then, try writing in complete sentences. Use paragraph breaks. We call that "communicating clearly", as opposed to the jumble you presented.
Man is not a virus on the world, he's part of it. You may disagree with how things are done, but wielding the rhetoric you're using will only turn people away from your argument, because you resorted to attacking people and making sweeping (very, very sweeping) generalizations that are derogatory.
I particularly love the part where you tell folk to "piss off" (let's write it out, shall we, instead of hiding behind abbreviations) if they disagree with you or consider giving some of their hard-earned dollars to organizations that are designed specifically to help others. Way to make your point.
As for arguing the points, I'm still trying to reconcile your stream-of-consciousness writing into something that resembles a rational argument. "how much joy does it bring you to just pull a trigger" is an excellent sentence that illustrates that you know NOTHING of hunting, nor of the many firearm sports that don't involve killing animals. The enjoyment in trap-shooting, for instance, has nothing to do with "pulling the trigger" and has everything to do with honing one's skill and concentration. Ditto to hunting (unless you're one of hte many morons who think that sitting on your ass and plugging away is hunting -- try actually hunting, aka stalking, your prey for once, where again the enjoyment isn't in the firing of the gun but in the HUNT of the prey). For that matter, I've been hunting with crossbows (self-assembled) before. Always thought it amusing that people automatically condemn guns -- but man was an effective hunter, a very effective hunter, before and without gunpowder. That strange thing called "the ability to think in the abstract" that sets us apart from the other animals also means that we're more effective at using our environment to produce tools to help/augment our functionality.
Further, no, not "anyone" "could take a hand gun, see a deer, and blow it to bits with a few shots". That's the statement of someone who definitely doesn't sound like someone who's ever fired a gun before. Trying going to a range, standing thirty feet from a target, and "blowing it to bits in a few shots". Remember, you said anyone, so make sure you're unskilled (don't think that'll be a problem). Now add that the deer isn't going to sit still and has better sound/smell perception than we do. Animals by and large aren't static targets. Strange how that works.
That you find it "funny" and ironic and apparently don't have a problem with "some nasty shit" (violence) being directed at human beings is the most frightening thing you wrote. I'll take my save-the-animals friends who aren't blatant hypocrites, thank you. Smiling about the thought of human beings being slaughtered is as sick as it is smiling at the wholesale slaughter of whales for their blubber. Disgusting.
Our past actions on the earth, including Nuclear bombs, deforestation, wiping out numerous species of animals, and destroying our own atmosphere would prove otherwise.
I think it's the objective of your past self to make you cringe.
you guys are all saying how hunting for a sport and not eating the meat is bad well think about this. In some parts of the state of NJ you are allowed to kill ANY bear you see on your property or on the road and just throw him out with your garbage. Its only becouse bears are now becoming overpopulated in the state.
It's funny that we justify the killing by saying that it's a good thing because there would be too many deer otherwise.
Well, maybe there are simply too many humans? I feel that us humans are destroying THEIR land and taking over, not the other way around. The deer and other animals never asked us to come tear down their forests so we could be new human buildings.

Shit, you aint got a clue whats going on, eh ? Think of I liked the other guys post where he said the whole thing about murders hunting cause they have gone bad.. but on a large scale "hunting" and "murdering" are really not different at all. Murdering is kililng of your own species, and humans are afraid to be killed, they like to kill, but not be killed...so... wait so humanity is getting at, don't shoot me... lets just all hold hands and go kill off some nature..yeah.. Anyways, about humanity dieing as a mass slaughter, hah, ITS ALREADY HAPPENING, just not in your precious country, where you comfily sit on your chair, eating cheetos and thinking about how cool you are by pointing out how cool humans are. Shit we humans, we should of died ages ago. The best humans I have ever seen were native americans, respecting nautre, being less or more friendly, and being overall good people. And then we white folks came over and acted like asses. But we were trained to do that, because for some reason most humans fear to show affection, in the process of possibly being hurt when their being kind. Humans overall are being trained to be cautious of people's actions. Oy.. the world is just falling apart. Any day now some country will declare itself ruler and blow everything and everyone to bits. But eh.. and you say humanity is part of the world... well it used to be, now we have just too much technology and that will kill us. If any of us survive we might smarten up. Just like that, whatever doesn't kill us (a nuclear war) will make us smarter (don't kill everything you see).
I love the other post I read where you could just shoot a bear if its on your "property". You mean that piece of land you declared yours by buying it off someone else who declared it yours, but if a bear has nowhere to take a crap, and decides to finally let it out on you "property", so hell.. shoot him? But eh, whatever. We will all learn our lessons soon enough...... also, in my opinion, if a nuclear war does happen, it will be very quick possibly only lasting 2 months... for in those 2 months, the world will be soo fucked, there will be nothing left. And humans are a virus, we truly are, with only a few of us trying to reverse of what the mass of us are doing.
As a side note, it is possible to kill a deer with a knife. You have to "run it down". This is a technique employed usually by a team where you startle the deer, it runs away, and then you run it down. Eventually, it does tire and submit. It is hard to believe, but it does exist.
Wakizashi ill invite you to Canada where i live and ill video-tape you hunting a deer with a knife, and if you get it i will give you my house, my life savings, and ill be your slave until I die. You won't be able to run down a deer through its territory in think woods even with a ATV, it may be possible if you have 100 dirty old goons running after the deer trying to stab it but yeah okay ill stop... lol
That is the EXACT reason im a vegetarian.I do not have the means nor do i have the time to go out and hunt. Most of the meat that makes it into the food chain visited by the average consumer gets there by inhumane ways.
Personally i could care less who eats meat and who doesnt.Nothing worse than a vegetarian telling a meat eater how wrong it is.Its a free country and we should do what we want.If she really wanted to win you over to her side she could make a nice gourmet vegetarian meal for her friends and ask you to come over and eat dinner with an open mind.
Having someone look down upon you for what you eat is nothing more than snobbish.
For me i found that i was "locked" into a lifestyle that didnt really let me experience all that life had to offer. When i went vegetarian i discovered a whole new way of eating that tasted good and made me feel even better.
Its really more of a personal choice. Its as difficult as anything i can think of.Some resteraunts have a vegetarian menu in the city i live in but not many really.
BTW i miss pepperoni and every now and then i break down and just say to hell with it and get a pizza with extra cheese and pepperoni!!

5. That video proves my point how hunting is FAR more humane than your typical grocery store/fast food joint. Hunting is about 3 to 6 guys going out in the morning and possible coming back with 2 deer. that video proves my point in seeing animals having no fighting chance in the restuarant market.
But good points though

But good points though
Im really replying to counterpoint # 5 here BTW:
BTW tell you friend to lighten up a bit!!
