I'm okay with the changes for the up in coming BFA.....
One change I would like to see someday is the scenery / landscape of the game. I wish they would change the same old boring landscape we have played on for years. The expansions are nice, but the original landscape needs some changes (evolution). That's why I always wanted a WOW2, with a different look. IMO.

I've been subbed for a while now, but haven't been playing. It's always there waiting for me... 7/17 sounds like a good day to dive back in before BfA.
In my case, I couldn't think of a WORSE day... 7/17 is my wife's birthday
gift her a spa ticket or a gift card of her favorite shop....so she is out for the evening
p.d DONT she will force u to go with her to the spa or worse....shopping ><
To be honest, the amount of new content to play through is relatively small -- the changes in other stuff is big, but content-wise, not tons to do if you're not into warmode. They'll roll out the story over the coming 3 weeks before the expansion release.
My sub lapses in 9 days and I won't continue on. Not that I think the game is bad at all. Actually I think the game is in the best spot it's been in in a while. My reasons are one because I don't think $50 is worth what is in it right now. I'll wait until it's on sale. Second reason is because I'm not exactly happy with them removing content like the mage tower. I understand changing things but to remove content that is decent is kind of sad.
The content removal is one of my pet peeves with the game as well. It is a very unfun mechanic. I don't want my game telling me that I have to do such-and-such by a certain date or I'll miss out on it forever. That isn't fun for anyone and it's not worth the engineered exclusivity angle that Blizzard is going for.
Agreed. Not sure who has done what in mage tower but i have gone through each one at least once and it is great solo content. It actually pushed me to learn about mechanics and think strategically. The rewards were nice too. Purely cosmetic (and some nice ones too) rewards are better to me than power upgrades. Also the satisfaction of completing a challenge was great. To see these types of challenges just dropped until the next one a year from now makes me not want to continue until it is released.
Making big combat changes is risky. They always fill me with a bit of trepidation because I don't know if they'll click with me. I know it's going to be different, but if I don't like them, then what? My choices are deal with combat I don't like as much anymore or drop the game off my list.
The rest I'm unsure of and again because they're making some big changes. I should like that but somehow it fills me with dread more than excitement. I know what WoW is now. I know what I like and what I hate. Now they're trying to change all that and mix it up and it makes me feel uncomfortable.
If you keep making major changes, you will sooner or later alienate every player in the game surely? They must be so confident that every combat change is amazing I am not sure how are? You can have playtest servers, but is that really telling you how the whole player base will react?
Great game if you're looking for a 'arcade' mmorpg experience it was downhill after LFG que, that being said I still enjoy time from time, just not the WoW it once was.

People keep saying this and still all i can remember form that time is how all of a sudden there was enough people to actually get groups going... But then again i was on Kilrogg-EU a old small server that used to have issues with being top heavy. If you resided on a bigger server i can see how you felt the LFG started a downward spiral.
But i will always look at it like the tool that gave me a chance to actually play the game, not sit in a city watching the lfg chat like a hawk... wishing for a group.
Warmode...I hope it is everything everyone seems to think it's going to be. I just can't move past the fact that if PVP was so fun, why doesn't everyone do it? Why does it need to be incentivized with extra rewards for people to participate? If you put sprinkles on a turd, it's still a turd underneath...

Isn't this why WoW (even most proper expansion based games) is still around? The major changes is what makes people come back every few years too play the new experiences... they aren't coming back to play back where they left off, im pretty sure of that.
Personally i like and think the refresh/restart of each expansion is what people like and worth coming back too... it a lot more exacting that some games that call it an expansion but its just a little zone, a dungeon or two and a raid if your lucky.
The reset is refreshing for me... i don't feel behind anyone else and don't really care how far ahead others got when i quit playing last. I can play until im bored then come back for the next expansion and starts/feels like new for everyone again.

So, what makes War Mode better than the old way of handling world PvP? Simple; you can turn it off. The old model was all or none; either you were on a PvP server or a PvE server. If you chose a PvP server and some level 100 jerkoff decided to gank your level 25 character over and over again, you were screwed. War Mode is a major improvement over the old model. Now you can PvP when you want, and turn it off when you don't want.
I totally agree that what you mentioned is a HUGE improvement. I am curious to see what happens if I attempt to walk into Orgrimmar when I'm not flagged? What if I go to a PVP tower in Legion and I'm not flagged? Does it teleport me away, insta kill me, auto flag me, what? I remember following my wife back in 2008 as she accidentally ran into Crossroads. She got one destroyed by the guards there. It auto flagged her too. I thought you could only flag for PVP in a capital city now. Anyone know?
I had to take the day off work because I'm having my a/c and furnace replaced, so I'll be home and ready when the servers come up. Always like when games change after months or years of stagnation, even if it's not always for the best.
EDIT: Just saw the ETA on servers is 6pm EDT...so much for that!
So I'm trying to figure out what happens to levelling in Legion if the artifact weapon is disappearing. For instance, if I was level 100 and just entering the Legion expansion to level, what happens? Did they re-do the intro quests where you obtain the artifact weopon? Am I even remembering that right? Does someone get the class hall achievement without having to get all three weapons? What are they replacing all the artifact power quest rewards with?
Seems like the legion content will be pretty odd without that weapon......

The artifact auto-levels with you now on an alt. And by auto -level I mean gets more stats. Artifact traits are gone forever. I think it's mentioned in the survival guide video (linked above).

That's been my only gripe with the WoW model of expansions always increasing level caps and making old content pointless...the lore and story continuity is destroyed even further by each expansion.

Try demonology warlock, survival hunter, arms/fury, disc priest. All are beautiful to play right now.
My BM hunter is 110, and despite the folks telling me they're not in a good place, I still loved playing him through Legion.
When you hear stuff like this its about PVP or Raid guilds that are top tier or so they think. I have a BM too. Its a blast to play him. And love all my pets.
Best / worst time to be playing depending on your view point. Would love to be there for it. This will be the first time I'm away from the game for any pre patch event and expansion launch which is unfortunate. Unless Blizzard wants to hold off for 3 months to suit my schedule and piss off their entire playerbase I'll see yous in game in 3 months time.
This Will be a horrible expansion, I’ve played the game since 2005, and through legion- pvp toggle mode is probably the worst mechanic they could implement why after years and years with pvp servers and then this hideous change smh. It’s doomed to fail, Sargeras has won they world is destroyed. I usually come back for every expansion but this garbage has run its course. The only worthy thing going on right now are high-ranking arena. I can’t believe they are this stupid wow just wow
I have some trepidation about this, I logged off last night a bit sad as if saying goodbye to a friend I will never see again lol. A I spent about an hour on the beta of BfA in the past couple of days and was disappointed. Just felt.....off. Not sure why they feel the need to make such drastic changes to existing content/classes every expansion. Expansions should be about *wait for it* expanding content more than changing how everything works. It's almost as if the devs get bored or something.
It's understandable they want to continuously change things to keep it fresh, and to try new things out. Some people like change, some people just want more adventures without overhauling everything all the time. I think it's great that a lot of people still enjoy this game. Me personally, I am one of those who was pretty happy with the formula a long while back, and too many changes were made for my taste.
Also considering how often I can actually play it makes it really hard to justify a subscription on top of buying the next xpack. Maybe I will jump back into the fray at some point, but for me the model of games like ESO fits my schedule much better.(and a whole lot more bang for my buck)
Still I enjoy coming here and seeing what's new and how people feel about the updates.

You're so hilariously off base i don't even know where to begin. The levels of owpvp will actually surge again with the changes they're making right now. The removal of pvp servers is a decision they should have made years ago via war mode.
As the saying goes, when you incentivize something, they will come. The benefits to enabling war mode will mean owpvp'ers will have PLENTY of people to fight against. Getting 10% exp/gold/etc for having war mode means wow's pvp will no longer mostly be instanced anymore.
Playing on EU servers, I'll be spending today with my Forsaken taking screenshots in and around Undercity as well as in Tirisfal. Then I'll trot out my Night Elf to do the same in and around Teldrassil. While we can always see Zidormi to view things "as they were" before the events of Battle for Azeroth...it's not the same.
Undercity has long been my favorite capital city and I actually feel real pangs of sadness thinking that it is functionally gone after the launch of Battle for Azeroth.

I was kind of shocked when I read Teldrassil abd the Undercity were undergoing such drastic changes. But I will say kudos to them for having the balls to make such drastic changes to areas such as these capital cities.
WOW...what is this site turning into? A dictator page? where u delete posts ur not in alignment with? PATHETIC just pathetic, So im not alowed to trash this expansion for its "toggle pvp" the game has just zealed its grave this expansion being its tombstone, so how much are u getting payed by blizz for filtering away genuine critic of their games, this aint the first time, gonna bounce to another mmorpg site for my future info.
