War mode won't be worth it after first 1 or 2 weeks for most people, unless you enjoy waiting 2minutes to resurrect and wasting your day. It will be completely inefficient for those who don't enjoy PvP.

I don't think it is fair for PvE players wanting the PvP rewards without PvPing. PvE players took the same ground when it came to gear, "if you want it come get it" when the gear changes were lessened in PvP rewards.

It is a different way to go about content, to get the bonus from that method you have to participate just like anything else.
They're not giving out pvp rewards. They're giving out extra pve rewards for pvp play. That is exactly opposite of what you say is happening. The pve players are getting screwed twice over.

To rephrase your statement as how they're implementing it, to get the pve bonus all pvp player have to do is keep playing pvp. Blizzard is offering a comfort bonus to pvp players to help them feel special.
I think the extra rewards are there to compensate for the additional downtime inherent with PvP play.  The intention as I see is to allow people who want to engage in world PvP to progress at roughly the same rate as people who don't turn on War Mode.  Now, will it work that way in practice or will the people with War Mode on end up progressing more quickly?  I think we'll need to see how it plays in the live environment.  But if it turns out that a lot more people end up playing with War Mode on then those players will definitely see more down time as they'll be running into opponents all over the place.

But are PvE players getting screwed over?  I doubt it.  Even without the bonus they'll probably be progressing at a similar rate to PvPers because they won't have to deal with regular engagements.  I think the sour grapes over this issue will end up being more imagined than real.
The original point claimed was that they're not offering special rewards to pvp players. They are. We can tell pvp players feel entitled to them. They've made that clear since. Apparently they're good with being given a 10% boost.

Warmode...I hope it is everything everyone seems to think it's going to be. I just can't move past the fact that if PVP was so fun, why doesn't everyone do it? Why does it need to be incentivized with extra rewards for people to participate? If you put sprinkles on a turd, it's still a turd underneath...
They don't offer extra rewards to participate. The only thing PvP mode gets is a small XP boost to offset the fact that when you're PvP flagged, your questing and open world activities are interrupted a lot, which slows down the leveling process. In order to make sure PvP mode players aren't leveling a lot slower than PvE mode players, they get a small boost. I can tell you've never really played a game with OwPvP for a long period of time lol.
See not only are they offering extra rewards for flagging, pvp players feel entitled to them because they have it harder.
People that like to PvP like to PvP, they don't need any rewards to flag.

IMHO the rewards are there to entice people who normally like to just PvE to PvP
Works for me.  There's no World PvP unless I gets me more targets! :D
These days I get my ass handed to me more times than not

I don't even have any issues with getting ganked. The only thing that pisses me off is getting camped.

I'll probably wait until fall to resub, up here in the PNW you have to take in as much sun as you can get.

Mind you it wouldn't be the first time that curiosity has killed this cat.... I mean dog. ;)

Once again, I'm utterly unsurprised that people who don't play a game feel the need to come into a thread about an article regarding a game that others play and poop on it. LOL -- the real surprise would be if no one did. :D
Is this a discussion forum or not?  Shame on your Susie for attempting to belittle those of us who like to note that the fun has majorly gone out of this game.  Personally, I have never bothered to put much time into legendaries, but can just imagine the angst from those that have.  The constant dumbing down of this game has taken a toll of people who have played it since inception, so kudos to any of you who complain, the games deserves the disdain!!!

Make an actual legitimate claim then. People say they dumb down the game but give horrible examples of it. For instance, tanking. People love to point to tanking as an example of how blizzard's dumbed it down. Yes, tanks no longer have to focus on an aggro rotation, but in its place they have to focus on using active mitigation to stay alive where as before that wasn't the case. The focus have shifted, tanks still have to focus on doing something, it's just shifted to staying alive rather than keeping aggro.

People claim raiding is too easy. This is just a retarded claim. Raiding is harder now than ever(assuming you actually do the hard raids, which are called mythic.) Unless you do mythic raiding, no one has the right to say "raiding is so easy now compared to [insert old expansion here].

Other claims i've seen from Bfa is people saying buttons were reduced. Sure, you might find a couple specs where if you choose all passive talents your buttons got reduced going into BfA, but for the most part buttons stayed the same and for a lot of specs its increased(Unholy DKs is a notable one).

If people give an actually valid and legitimate claim or opinion, then maybe they wouldn't get responded with any perceived disdain. Just saying "blahblah BfA is doomed to fail" is not a valid or legitimate opinion.

PvP will be useless for a levling character without any "normalisation" of gear, imagine as a new player you meet someone with a full heirloom set, he'll basically stomp you. So do the same gear rule count for World PvP?

I've been subbed for a while now, but haven't been playing. It's always there waiting for me... 7/17 sounds like a good day to dive back in before BfA.

Try demonology warlock, survival hunter, arms/fury, disc priest. All are beautiful to play right now.

My BM hunter is 110, and despite the folks telling me they're not in a good place, I still loved playing him through Legion.

My BM is kicking ass. So much so that it's going to be my main in BfA. So many people don't know what they are talking about, try not to listen to them. Icy Veins is king:

"Beast Mastery's biggest advantage is that you can do full damage while moving. On top of this, Beast Mastery's damage is high and the spec is relatively easy to play. This makes the spec highly desirable for both Mythic+ and raids, where you will be guaranteed to have to move regularly for certain mechanics. Additionally, Beast Mastery works primarily with short cooldowns and instant casts that do heavy damage, which is a large benefit in terms of bursting down high-priority targets.

The biggest downside is that a lot of Beast Mastery's damage is entirely reliant on your pet being close to the target. On bosses where targets are far apart, you can lose a lot of damage during the travel time of your pet from one target to another."

I don't really agree with that downside. If you're melee you too have to move between bosses like a Hunter's pet does. Pet has a Rush ability and Kill Command is also a closer that executes when it's activated, not when the pet gets near the target.

I played legion and with another 6 months.  Which may be a record since I quit after WOTLK.  This expansion has me debating.  I still have some stuff to grind in GW2 and I do not prefer the WoW combat or character building as I do to GW2.  I guess at least I finally have an option.  I may buy it to support anything MMO, as they are not being produced, talked about or played anymore.

I recently quit GW2 and bought BfA. The PvP and grinding killed it for me in GW2. PvP is like a game of rock, paper, scissors. I absolutely hate it. I also popped my head into Heart of Thorns.. checked out those armour sets from the zone vendors there, figured out it would take something like 300 days, literally hundreds of days, to unlock all those armour pieces since the currency is capped daily. It's only like 3 armour sets.

Nope, nope, nope. Love the artstyle, kind of enjoy the PvE combat even though it feels a bit floaty, LOVE the mounts.. but.. bye. That's the worst grind I've ever seen in any game, ever. Not for me. I'm sure I'll play it again one day.. and leave again when I remember that the game that claimed to have no grinding as a selling point has the worst grinding I've ever experienced.
