Okay, we established EQ2 sucks for not having PvP.
Now, if you play the game despite it being so bad, just stop. Doesn't that make more sense than playing a game you think sucks, and then making yourself look dumb on the internet trying to prove how much it sucks with shallow arguments?
If you don't play the game, however, it raises another question. Why do you make a post about a game you don't like, on a forum dedicated to that game, trying to prove how bad it is? Crave attention? too much free time? Pick up a book instead.

Whilst I tend to agree with you BigQEd, PvP seems to be an integral missing feature to EQ2, but saying that it's a "Bad" game because of it doesn't make much sense. Anyone that would spend a fair bit of time in game would know that it has excelent production value, whether you like to the game or not that's just something that you cannot deny. Does it appeal to everyone ? Absolutely not, but on the same token I would ask you to name me one game that appeals to everyone in the gaming community, I doubt you would be able to do so.
It's an important subject certainly, but when you start a discussion in such a childish manner, you will be responded too like wise. Had you wanted a seriousness discussion towards the future of PvP in EQ2 then you could have done just that, instead you've behooved yourself the troll and that's all you can expect people to treat you as and so you earn yourself even less credibility by becomming surprised and defensive when people treat you for what you are.
I for one can take or leave PvP but I also recognize that for many people (such as yourself) this is an important feature and so I'm eagerly waiting the implementation of PvP and duels with the upcomming expansion DoF. My hope is that, if done correctly, it will expand the immersion of the game environment as well as add some much needed end game content for many players. I think it will help EQ2's case quite a bit in regards to those people out there, like yourself, who dismiss the game out of hand simply because it does not have PvP.

Nice try, but you seem to be the only on that doesn't want to talk, you just want to continue to push your PvP rulez attitude down everyone's throat because your sore at SOE for not putting it into EQ II at launch.

Too much PvP destroys games IMHO. If there was one single factor apart from the CU that destroyed SWG, it was the way the game was turned into a pretty much "PvP only" game. I'm not against some limited incarnation of PvP within EQ2, I have accepted this is inevitable. The proposed implementation within DOF seems reasonable to me.
Having said that, any kind of "Full scale" implementation of PvP would cause me to instantly cancel my sub. I do not want to be forced to participate in something I do not enjoy.

Yeah i played Lineage II ... yeah you can loose your gear in pvp so that make the game great ??? geez , L2 must be the worst pvp game i have ever played heck even my time in shadowbane was greater than L2 ...

Go back read the thread and you can see why I mentioned my age. Then you made a post/poll that insulted me and attempted to poke fun at my status so I posted that poll. Your post was deleted because it was slanderous.
My social status really isnt your concern. What I enjoy doing or not doing really isnt your concern. However, I will tell you that I am a person like others that enjoy MMORPGs. I simply have the security in life that I have more time to play. Is that a crime? Are you jealous? You do not believe me? So be it. I don't care...
As far as making my own game... I have considered it. I have looked into the Unreal engine and seriously considered it. However, much more is needed than money. Do I wish to partake in a new industry? One in which I would have to spend an extreme amount of time researching before commiting too. At this time... no... but who knows what the future will hold.
Lastly, you would love to discount me as a 16 year old... that sure would fit your stereotyped brush. *gasp*

The problem is BigQEd is your not debating, you're flaming those that flame you, which is all good but you've yet to debate or impart any knowledge towards anyone that has taken a common sense approach of opposition to your original semi-post.
What you're doing does not take nor show intelligence, it quantifies only as arrogance and ignorance. If you want an actual debate, sit up in your big boy chair and act your age, you may think you can rest on the laurels of a statement such as "I'm 36 and semi-retired" but around here that's no where near good enough.
Once more, any idiot can go rouse a bee nest of a game's forum but it take's a quick mind to make those bee's see the underlying point, something like "Subject says it all" just doesn't cut it.

Eq is not about pvp nor has it ever been. These people role play and pve. Nothing wrong with that! Thats there game they have fun doing it.
Theres plenty of games with half ass pvp. Wow guild wars eve ect.
Im not an eq fan lol i played the game a week and dumped it. Im a pvp ffa jug head as they probly call me. Hopeing a pvp game of my caliber does release one day. When and if it does hope they respect it and leave it alone like im asking you guys to do to there site. Show some maturity and respect to fellow gamers. We dont see eye to eye, but theres lots of games for those eyes.

Sure, Players are better than AI if you are playing an FPS game, chess, or hell, starcraft. But in MMORPGs, there is hardly room for skill, simply because the games are so level-centric, equipment-centric that they rule out any room for actual skill - where does skill come in the formula that is better gear = better player?
Oh wait, there's the famous UO, which did not focus on levels or gear but rather on skill instead, right? Wrong. UO was nothing more than a gankfest, and while it was fun, PvP in it's core was a. the person with the best macros win b. the person with the best preps wins c. the person with the highest magery skill wins.
Another thing about MMORPGs is that even if you overlook all the limitations, and start on even ground, there are only so many combat options available, and out of that there will always be a select better ones and some less, so if you take two chimp-kins, with characters completely equal, and the same knowledge of the game, it'd be a pretty stale match.

Just to prove that most humans are inept, go play the first PvP mission in Guild Wars. I plowed through 8-0...my partner didn't even get a kill. Some challenge.
11-0 here with just 2 PCs vs. 4 PCs. "Holy crap." was the last we heard before porting out.
Done? Next time why don't you even start. You come into a thread dump a really ignorant topic down, won't put up any supporting posts to follow it up and when no one agree's with you take all your toys and go. That is what you accused someone else of afterall isn't it when they were done here?
People are defending EQ II because its the game they play. Heaven forbid if they like it biggy. And heaven forbid you actually ACCEPT them liking it.

Looks like just a few posts ago you where flaming somebody for "having their feelings hurt and going home" and now you are doing just that. Wow.
The trouble is that very few MMORPG games have ever had a decent, fair pvp system where everyone can compete on a level playing field. There are nearly always balance issues which you wouldn't get in a typical FPS online game such as CS or BF.
For instance, the reason I left DaoC was not because I was bad at pvp but because they kept nerfing/boosting various classes but could never get it right!
Personally I currently choose to get my roleplaying/pve fix from EQ2 and my pvp fix from other games such as Planetside & CS.

Well it's good that you admit defeat, now we can all move on with our lives. I would however like to go on record stating that indeed reasonable people can infact change their minds and or oppinions regarding many subjects in these forums.
For example, I myself have conceeded to very good points from extremely well worded and different thinking forums goers, such as Fad, Elnator, Jodokai. Whilst we may not always agree with each other, I like to think we all hear each other out, I know personally I've taken away a great deal of information and new trains of thought from these people and I always look forward to their insight.
This is something you intently lack BigQEd and might I say something you probably have no idea how to approach and so as I said, it's good that you leave now because if your not interested in hearing and discussing other patrons ideas and thoughts then why even post here in the first place.
