EQ2 servers Medium and Heavy (with screenshots)

...lol, such hatred and rancor over the success over a video game...  You fellas need to get outside and go for a walk, it clears the head...  I for one believe that EQ2 is dramatically on the rise...  WoW introduced literally millions of new gamers to the world of an MMO, and with SOE's marketing saavy, they are now reaping the benefits from WoW exiles as other games are, and EQ2 is next up to WoW for word of mouth and advertising factors go...  Make no mistake about it though, the new subs and drastic increase of new players doesn't have anything to do with the 'uber-ness' of EQ2, but rather since millions of potential buyers are now all of a sudden looking for another game like WoW, but isn't WoW and EQ2 is next on the totem pole...  SOE should seriously send Blizzard a fruitbasket for x-mas or something... 

While it is plausible that EQ2 changed the definition of 'Heavy' and 'Medium' (because they CAN do that, it is after all, their game) this is highly unlikely...  If EQ2 ever dropped below 200k subs, then it would be more of a possibility... 

 My only gripe with EQ2 is that they (like all other poorly run MMO's) elected to change the fundamental mechanics of their game midstride, and really looked like asses in the end (to me at least)...  This happened with SWG too, and I never looked back...  Oh well, still a good game though with lots of new players incoming...

Finding groups is easy but some people (myself included) will tend to be anti-social at times. Don't be afraid to do a /who your level range and start chatting people up. Ask them if they're in a group or would they like to come group with you. I find this type of behaviour leads to a group 100% of the time.

What ive heard and read directly contradicts your statement.

My suggestion is that you go to the official forum and read what people are saying about the lack of players and groups.

I can attest to what Anarchy is saying. I have two toons on AB. Neither is a healer class and, thus, not in super-demand. But I ALWAYS Get a group when I want one. It's very easy to get in a group. Most of the people griping on the official forums are people who spam /ooc with "LFG" and on most servers people pay ZERO attention to OOC chat. I use the group finder tool almost exclusively coupled with /who and tells. Always have, even in EQ1. NEVER have I had trouble finding a group. Even playing a Crusader.

When are you going to realize that nothing you say about EQ2 matters. You have no clue what you are talking about, none. You read the EQ2players forums and think you know what you are talking about. People are way more likely to take the time to bash something they hate than to post something positive. No matter what game, what product, what anything...people will always focus on the negative. All the happy people playing EQ2 aren't saying sh!t, because they are content.

But why am I wasting my time on you pirrg. Nothing anyone says to you will make you realize that you have you head so far up your rear end you will never see the light....ever.

If you take what you read on forums, in the papers, on TV...whatever...and think it as absolute truth, then I truly feel sorry for you.

pirrg only reason why I breath down your neck is because you and a couple others are closely monitored due to your "comments" It has nothing to with EQ2...you just happen to be the EQ2 Poster Child of monitoring. We have other Forum areas of people we monitor as well. You just post more than the others

They sort of transcends mere opinions about a game now. You do it to upset other people. Plain and simple...noother reason. Normal people complain about the game...say how much they absolutely hate it and then move on. An average hater of any game tends to post around 10-15 posts against the game and then tend to go through a "cooling off" period. Later, they move on to tother board topics. You just tend to hang around...post over a hundred (negative) and never played it.

A person who never played the game yet criticizes every person who like it from time to time sets off bells and whistles.

Its cool to not like the game or any game. It's weird to hate a game that you never played. It's even weirder to criticize those who played the game when you never played it. That is why we're watching you. It's not a normal trait.

Finally, I think we've been very fair. If we were jerks about it, we could have done jerky things to you and your posts. But, for the most part I think we've been fair.

The thing is pirrg I'm sure you're a great person, but you have hatred for a game you have never even tried. That type of thing just isn't healthy for anyone, mostly yourself. Many of your posts did seem to be honest queries into the state and quality of the gameworld of EQ2, but they quickly degenerated into simple attacks on any positive statement posted.

Anyone can go and read other forums and find negative statements about any game, but what good does reporting these statements back to another sites forums do? Reporting on your own experiences would be helpful and valid, not reporting on someone elses. That is just trolling.

I stand by my claims that EQ2 is a vibrant rich and beautiful world filled with many challenges and dangers and a community you will come to know as friends. Here's to hoping you find that game that you seek, and will challenge you and keep you enthralled.

In my experience, the EQ2 devs need to get out, and take a peek at a real horse, as there are some serious physical deformities involved in the horses of Norrath.

Who's the one trolling here? I think you've got some wires crossed there, junior. Anarchy's not the one who is constantly bashing EQ2 on the EQ2 forums when he hasn't even played the game. I can't help but wonder why you keep coming back. Do you not realize that the only thing your constant EQ2 rants and raves are accomplishing is stirring up the ant's nest? If you have it in you to try and make EQ2 a better game that you would like to enjoy, then go send your thoughts to SOE. If more people stirred up ant's nests, we'd A) have less ant's in my kitchen in the summer, and most likely have a much better group of people running our gov't.

I might not agree with everything Pirrg has to say regarding EQ2, but I don't consider what he has to say automatically invalid just because he hasn't, or isn't playing. He does occasionally bring up a valid point, and frankly, as trolls go, he's a hell of a lot more well spoken, and well mannered than most. Better than some of the people bashing him in some cases, too.

A small fraction of what he says might have valid points, such as the more variety and more color issues.  EQ2 possibly could use more of variety, but the game  isn't lacking in either department, and it sure as hell doesn't need more color.  Even someone who's only played Trial of the Isle, which in itself has a great deal of depth and immersion, would see this.  If it had much more it would get into being pschodelic, which for me would be a turn off.  The color and variety issues are just fronts though, he's in this mentality that the whole game sucks because he can't go as far as he wants to with the free trial version of the game.

Either that or he just gets off on trolling.  Maybe it's both.

It really doesn't matter if he is well spoken and well mannered or an abselute twit.  He's still a troll.  He came here, posted his views on EQ2, and caused up a flame war.  This is kind of like a Christian evangelist sending video messages into downtown Baghdad saying that Islam sucks and that they should all convert.  Would this get what he wants accomplished?  Nope, it would manage to piss a bunch of people off while he sits back to watch the chaos.  This is all I see Pirrg getting from constantly logging into this forum and flaming EQ2.

OOohh really? What kind of DPS is berserker comarable to? Right up there with Sorceror and Monk?

after the combar revamp berserkers are comparable to a rogue (a serious amount of DPS, right under rangers) for extended fights, but for very short fights (especially against group mobs thanks to the lvl 50 spell rampage) they may just have the best dps in the game. ive known berserkers to break 1000dps in fights against a group of single arrow, no arrow, or down arrow mobs that lasted under 15 seconds if rampage was up.

Nihilanth, I have a froglok fighter I'm currently playing who at this time I would like to take down the road of the Paladin.  I was wondering what you thought of paladins as tanking and overall combat compared to other fighter types.  Can they be a frontline tank or are they better suited as a backup and support?

Just have a question.  Couldnt SOE just fix the servers so they could hold less people then they were six months ago?  If they did that then the populations just appear medium or high.
