But i think you're the first person I have ever seen that cannot accept the fact that a game you hat has more than 300,000 members.
So what if it does? EQ2 wasn't created to make fun of you. If they have 300,000 then let it be. After observing this thread it's come to my conclusion that people here have presented you with facts, screenshots, outside SOE links, etc but you still come back and shoot it down.
I dont know whether to feel sorry for you or to be angry. Because one of the following things is happening:
A. You will not believe the subscription numbers no matter how it is presented to you. Which is a social/mental thing or
B. You hate the game with so much passion that you will not believe in anything positive whatsoever can come from it, despite people showing you concrete evidence.
C. You're just trying to be a troll and you want to see how far you can press the issue.
I dont play EQ2 because I play EVE and dont really have the time and money for both. I even have some issues with EQ2. Byt my issues with EQ2 makes your issues with EQ2 look like the difference between night and day. You transcended beyond notliking the game. You have entered your own world now.

You claim that eq2 having more then 300k subscribers is a fact. Well then, go ahed and proove it why dont you? Where is this concrete evidence youre talking about because ive seen none of it.

This comment proves point B in my previous post exactly. I've witnessed people posting you more screenshots, numbers, links, articles than you can shake a stick at.

I respect the opinions of others and their right to criticize, but you've taken it to a whole new level called trolling that I abselutely can't stand.
What the hell do you want from us concerning "evidence"? Anarchyart has posted screenshots showing the server populations registering as medium and even high. You responded by claiming that SOE "must have lowered the number of player requirments in order for them to display those levels." Players who are actually playing the game have repeatedly told you that they are encountering a great deal of other players in the game, but you just blow them off and basically call them liars and full of crap. All these and [b]you haven't even played the game yourself![/b]
I really don't give a crap what the times article and mmogchar.com say. I play the game, I see a lot of players, that's good enough for me. I don't need to prove anything to you because I'm not the one trying to convince anyone of anything here. Trying to convince you of it is a waste of time.
Please, do everyone, including yourself, a huge favor and go back to playing something you enjoy and leave us to be happy with EQ2.
NVM, some people will just never be happy. I think we just have to offer those people lots of love and hope that they straighten their lives out. Fact is, EQ2 is better than ever, and the best damned fantasy MMORPG on the market and anyone who tries it in its present state will attest to that. However those with sub-par computers really shouldn't bother.

did you argue the weirdos in world of warcraft aswell ? theres no point ! the game is completly diffrent.
any game that is not EQ2 or EQ1 is not better or worse even tho they all of them are MMO's it doesnt mean they are the same.
its just like saying Warcraft3 beats Dungoen siege 2 in all aspects! but its so freakin wrong, the games are designed completly diffrent, another example :

Well even though this thread seems to be a flame fest i am going to throw something out there, i currently have a 30 warlock and 47 sk on innothule and for one.....eq2 can't hold a candle to what eq1 once was(before soe). Two....I play on innothule and there is no way my server is medium population,more like to very low. At the time of DoF is about where i remembered the server pops change, before DoF all were ligt and ant bayle was medium to heavy but never seen one other above light i dont believe. I believe that eq2 probably did gain some subs but I also know quite a few who have left. I do believe those population qualifications have been extremely lowered for it seemed at an instant that all server went from light to medium, and yes some do drop back to light now but yes almost all were light previous to DoF and I certainly dont believe that the population has grown that much across all servers, At least I dont see it on innothule. Anyway I dont think very high of eq2,kinda just a hold over til dark and light after I got tired of that kiddy game WoW.
Anyway someone point this old man to a descent game until Dark and Light for I dont think I can continue EQ2, 6 months is enough.

Well, truthfully, I'm getting pretty tired of fantasy games, period. I'd like someone to make a decent SciFi game. Shadowrun Online would make my day.
No one game does everything the best. EQ2 has the highest poly count for their meshes and whatnot, but loses out to games like Lineage 2 or WoW in terms of color, and diversity of gear. SWG does character customization 100 times better than any game out there, but the world is lifeless and sterile.
Currently, if I had to pick a 'best' fantasy MMO, I'd probably go with DAoC, particularly with the addition of the new pre ToA server.
LOL I do too, but I think hanging around on this forum has shot my vocab. to hell.
I too would freak out if they made Shadowrun online, I loved the SNES game to death and just love the sci-fi cyber punk anarchy mafia high-tech thing. Also, if and when I do leave EQ2 I'll probably play DAoC or Lineage 2, but for now I'm taking my time with EQ2 and couldn't be happier.
For now I'll still say EQ2 is the best fantasy MMOG out right now. My ex-gf was whining today about not being able to find a tank last night. She said she did /who lfg for the level range and just couldn't find one. I had to take her backto school about how to find groups, it's astonishing to me that people who have been playing MMORPG's for years and years still have no skills in finding groups so I'm gonna make a thread about it in this section.
Pirrg... there's no way to get more "Facts" than an article in a reputable news paper. MMORPGCHART.COM's posting is over 3 months old and represents data from ***MAY***, it was posted on June 10th. Since MAY it's been almost 6 months. You're telling me a game can't gain 200-300k players in 6 months? YOU are the one railing against the only FACTS available:
FACT: New York Times is a reputable news paper. They're not going to risk that by posting fake numbers that they can EASILY check. Neither MMORPGCHART.COM nor NYT is "wrong". MMORPGCHART.COM's numbers are simply DATED
Remember: MMORPGCHART.COM reports WOW at 2.5 Million Subs on that June Report and the NYT is saying that as of September WoW is up to 4.5 million subs. So they're saying that in the past 4-5 months both games have, roughly, doubled their subscriber base. That, my friend, is NOT outside the realm of reality and railing against it is just flat out rediculous.
You are the one who hasn't posted a SINGLE fact on this arguement. You continue to say everyone, inlucing the New York Times, is lying. I'm sorry but you really need to take off the tinfoil hat with the propeller and join the real world for a while. I dunno what you call your world but it aint where reality resides.

"BEST" is a subjective thing
It all depends on what you're looking for. In *my* opinion EQ2 is the best Fantasy MMORPG available right now. Ryzom isn't bad either but I don't like the way they handle the fight/magic system and PVP is horridly unbalanced there. WoW isn't bad but lacks depth and has no crafting or housing and the quest system isn't as satisfying. DAOC is actually a better game in many ways but it's *old* and feels it. And for a new player DAOC is fairly tough to 'catch up' in. Those are the only MMO's out there that I feel are anywhere near on par with EQ2.

This was the only way he could get around El's post. El basically won the arguement so all prrig could do to reenter the argument without admitting defeat was piggyback on someone else's statements and hope we all forget how he lost.
