Gilthani........pre cu I was a pikeman/doc/tkm with a mindfire lance with 92% potency that hit for 393 and ticked for 3 min with a mind poison pike that was 90% potency that hit for 298 for 2 min. Wasnt much use in pve but in pvp if I hit you with my 1-2 combo you wouldnt last long w/o doc skills. I would get both to stick and just run around buildings and such as I watched my targets mind bar slowly turn black and then incap. The cu turned those pikes to junk::::26::

Im not sure what game youre playin but I have chars on 4 other servers and theyre all the same. EMPTY. So do yourself a favor and dont post on a subject you know nothing about. It just makes you look stupid. Im not saying that they are bringing back the old system. Im just saying that they are gonna have to make some major changes to swg for it to survive. Why else would SOE/LA hire an outside company to take surveys on what people liked and disliked about swg? Most companys do it themselves with an exit survey. Get a clue.

Definately miss SWG. CU sucks and would do anything to play Pre-CU again, but as of now my star wars discs are coasters.

Im just praying that where there is smoke, there is fire.   Between this and the other rumors going around, the apparent start up of emu's, the survey, and the general and persistent discontent, surely something will happen to this game.  It could just be shut down, or it could be pre cu servers (crosses fingers).   image

The fastest way for them to battle private pre-cu servers is to give us pre-cu servers and charge us.

I think you are confusing SWG with WOW...SWG is all but dead and gone...in Pre-Cu or Cu your spatial was spammed constantly in starports with people selling stuff....now you're lucky to see one or two people in a starport.

Hahahahaha "The next shuttle will be arriving in 9:55 second" ahhhhh as annoying as that was, it helps me think of the better times..... times befor the dark times.. before the CU/NGE.

When it comes to SWG I am totally lost, should you blame SOE for NGE or LA for aprooving it? Or was there something else in there between that we do not know about?

SWG before NGE was imo the smartest MMORPG all time, the social level was higher than anything else i had ever experienced! The game was totally worth playing only for the social parts...

If there should be a reason to PAY for a game a month it would need heavy stuff, just like SWG had! Build you own towns, mix your character as you like (combat + fighting if you like), a complete player run economy, yea, SWG was the far most advanced and smart game ever that i have played.

Whoever were the depengind person upon the decision to implement the NGE should be shot, that is my opinion, I have never been so frustrated about a game before that happened, just when you were getting used to the CU the heavier A-bomb hit and i could not understand what i was seeing ... the soul of the game ... lost ... the game now playable by 10 year olds, the advance gameplay roasted and the gameplay now looking just as dull - stereotype and kiddish like WoW...

If they really are planning a SWG2 i am probably the number 1 person to be happy about it! For so long i have been telling my friends about the genious game that was out there, i have been convincing them all to play it, only problem was when they finally did, the game changed into NGE .......

I have all fingers crossed that we once again can play a game, that we once bought, called SWG!

I have found that peoples definition of a ton can be extremely skewed. The last time I got into this with a fanboi (Wepps) he produced screenies of a dozen people in the Mos Eisley cantina and a couple other screen shots of maybe 10 or so people at other locations.

Anyone who has been there since the beginning probably has old screenies of 100+ at C-Net, MO and Theed. Couple that with player events, and populated cities...all online at once. Hell I remember waaaay back being involved with a 200+ PvP raid on Intrepid....the lag was horrendous, but there were what I would call a ton of people in that one location.

I have a good friend who has stuck it out. Not a fanboi, but actively playing...even he tells me there needs to be consolidation to up the populations. The last time I logged in and looked around, it reminded me of a ghost town I once visited.

This rrumor is ture i might help to get some lost people back into swg, but i doubt that will be many. I think that it is a smart move  becuase new players will join the galaxy, and existing (active accounts) players will most likely remain in the game. I personally think that the game can never be any good anymore.

I'm not going to dispute whether there are a ton of people or not, but people REALLY need to find a better argument than "There is noone in Theed or C-Net so the game must be dead". The reason there is no one in C-net or Theed has NOTHING to do with population. If this game had 5 million subs, C-Net and Theed would STILL probably be empty. There is NO REASON to go there.

People really need to remember WHY people hung out in C-Net and Theed. C-Net you were able to almost anywhere by shuttle with one hop, that made that starprot popular. Now with JtL you can go anywhere from anywhere, you don't need C-Net starport for anything.

Then people would crowd there for Doctor buffs. You don't need Doctor buffs anymore, so why the hell would anyone be at C-Net? Of course it's empty but it has nothing to do with population, there is simply NO REASON to be there.

Ok first off im not smart and maybe a little lazy but here I go.

First off I would like to personally take my hats off to all of you DIEHARD fans off SWG who wont let go of what happened to you and your game.

    ::::08::

If someone has read the EULA of SWG or is familiar with it, could people just make another MMORPG (like SWG) and make it free to everyone. Or would that be copyright infringement. If no one was making money off of it I wouldnt think it would be but I'm not familiar with the copyright laws. The reason why I'm asking this is because theres another game called SWC (star wars combine) did they have to buy rights from George Lucas or something. If not I'm sure there is enough people out there who love SWG before it got screwed over to just make another game.

ty for reading this .. this post is very very interesting like a soap opera I cant get enough of it ::::01::

Is there an MMO that out there that isn't affected by Xao Ping Wang and their money grubbing macro bots?

I actually used to play this before I played SWG and I remember that when SWG came out there was a big thing in court about it.  Lucas Arts said they were a threat to business because they offered an online RPG for free.  However SWC is NOTHING like SWG.  Not by a longshot.  I can't remember what the outcome was but I'm pretty sure SWC won because there was no monetary gain from it.

I was a Captain in the Rebel Alliance Navy and a Vice Admiral and Naval XO in the Falleen Federation in SWC.

That's precisely why the game is dead...THERE IS NO REASON TO GO THERE....THERE IS NO REASON TO GO ANYWHERE...Don't you see?...Doc buff lines, shuttle hops, and an entirely player driven economy forced people to gather in these locations....and guess what?...PVP went there as well because everyone was already there...Now with the NGE, there is no reason to go anywhere...so people who crave social interaction leave the game...hence the game is dead.

Hope that's not too difficult a logic pattern to follow.

First, don't try to talk down to me, you're no where near smart enough.

Second, I'm not going to bother debating with you. Your logic isn't hard to follow it's just horribly flawed. I'm not going bother explaining why, even if you read it you'd just ignore it anyway, but I'll leave you with something to think about: If people "crave social interaction" then why are the game that force grouping not doing as well as games that more solo friendly?

Social interaction involves socalizing with people with whome you share a common interest with. The douche bags who tend to group only do so for advancement, not for socalization. Hence some group oriented games fail. However, I think you're just offering up an opinion and not necessarily fact. EQII is a prime example of a game which DEMANDS a group and it seems to be doing well enough.

WoW has solo capability to an extent. But I don't feel it would be a terribly difficult argument to say that grouping is forced in that game. Hell, raids are common place in MC and other high end instances. Groups form all the time, but they are more orented for specific quests then they quickly disband. I have found that it is not uncommon for me to join a group, complete a single quest or a chain of quests, leave the group then find another group for another quest. So...not sure group-oriented games fail.

Back to the OP, I hope SWG just dies. I was such a fan-boy and stuck up for SWG on so many occasions. I would MAYBE, and please let me emphasize MAYBE, try SWG:II if it was developed. But I would expect some radical changes to the game, the engine and to the general thought behind such a game.

Those locations were just examples. As of right now show me ANY significant gathering of players ANYWHERE.

The lack of a need of doc buffs is just one of many examples of how SOE destroyed player dependancy in the game.

Not too far back I saw a post by someone who was going to stick the NGE out. They admited to being a SWG fanboi who would be there till SOE pulled the plug. They went all over the place during peak hours to recruit for a guild since theirs had been decimated (like so many others)...and you know what? THey COULDN'T FIND ANYONE TO RECRUIT.

SWG is dead no matter how much the fanbois deny it....SOE destroyed the the game and the population....and I hope SWG gets the freaking plug pulled....oh and while I'm at it...I hate SOE's guts for invalidating thousands of invested hours of my time.

ANd one other thing...those who say "you all just need to let it go" Tell you what...why don't YOU go away and let us ex-SWG vets wallow in our misery.
