That's not true. I've known Garva and other mods to reply to posts well beyond 5:00pm PST. Call me crazy, but do you think there's a possibility that they're on salary? (ie. no over time)

Believe me... Something is going on with the mods. The first post about this got erased and locked in 15 minutes (no mods were there or showing any sign at the time), then every single posts about this got deleted (not removed : just erased as they never existed), locked down and people (like me) were banned for trolling (lol) in less than 2 minutes EACH TIME ! I've never seen anything like it... I posted this :

true, salary would mean no overtime. However then you get into the whole mess of can they force someone to work past 5pm ? When I worked at Oki Data the answer was hell no.
Its now 8:30pm mountain time where I am. I dont know where the mods work out of but assuming its Austin then its 7:30 there. I doubt any mod is going to sit there at a desk for 2-3 hours voluntarily
I just find it unusual that this "rumor" has them staying late when others are allowed to fester

The dates on those Pics are 2003 and they are the same old pre-cu skill trees, just the trees are in a different order (Like with brawler the pike and unarmed trees are swaped, and pistoleer and carbineer with marksman).

I'll dispute that. KotOR was an atrocious game in my opinion.
However, I can't say that if this is true I wouldn't be pleased if done properly.
Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.

Well Nadia surely is doing a good job for SOE locking post and baning plp left and right. So far over 25 post have been delete or lock, all about the same SOE fall. If they would it do the same job in copstumer service SWG would it be the best MMO in town.
I haven't been around the official SWG forums much lately since I permanently quit shortly after the NGE. But from what I can remember, there is a point during the night where there is a span of a few hours with no forum moderation.
I can't wait to see that, if it happens in the next few hours.
This is some of the best news I've heard in a while. I'm really sick of playing WoW and thinking about old Pre-CU (or even CU) SWG. I want my FUN and POPULATED and UNIQUE MMO with the star wars theme back. I think it will still happen, but if it's a whole new game we have to wait for, it'll be a few years.
But, as far as short-term amusement goes, I'm going to be excited the day this current mess that was formerly known as SWG is closed down. That game is D E A D. Glad I got rid of my 3 Jedi accounts before they turned into dust.

I really hope this rumor is true. for me it doesn't matter wich company creates or runs the game but I would like to see it go back to the great game it was pre-cu. SOE had their chance and destroyed it; NGE is nice for consoles but not as Mmo.

Yes - it is pessimistic me. I don't believe that it is possible to develope good MMORPG under LA's watchful and greedy eyes. Good luck Bioware - you are REALLY going to need it. I am not going to be first one who is going to buying another LA game. I hope that Bioware doesn't mess up their good image with this one.

SOE sucks beyond all comprehension, however, LA and (George Lucas in particular) have done more harm to the Star Wars franchise than SOE ever could.
But in my eyes, SOE is still a shit company who'se largly at fault here. I'm happy knowing (if true, i'm still not quite a beiiever) that SOE gets the emberassment of having a license dropped from them. I get satisfaction by their emberrasment. I want to twist the knife and pour salt in SOE's wounds, just like they did with my fucking toon for all these months.
Anyway, I really want to question something here... and that is the wisdom of LA staying with SWG-- just 'updating' it (yet again). A new 'upgrade' isn't the answer, which is what supposedly is happening. Personally, i'm never going back. I've found something else to fill my time now (EVE). Unless the MMO is COMPLETLY and TOTALLY new I don't think I'll sub. It needs to be fresh for people to want to come back... the current game is rotten to its core.
Seriously, at this point it's unfixable.... and whatever is salvagable is pointless since the game will be so old by the time everythings fixed it's not going to be a shining jewel on the MMO market no matter how much polish is put on it. Not even BIOWARE/PANDEMIC can pull this off, and I think they are probably the most talented company in the business right now (top 3 at lest). They are also competent and I think they would know this.
The NGE took, what, 6 months? 9 months to make? And they hardly added anything! In fact, they took a bunch of shit AWAY, more content went out with the NGE than in. Can you believe it? It took 6 months just to TAKE CONTENT AWAY. Oh, i'm sorry, we got a 35 level quest line that is so mediocre i'm embarrassed to even play it.
I mean, assuming Feb was when a deal was inked then that means the end of summer at the earliest for something to be completed.... but we all know there's 3 times the work involved since they have to convert the expansions to fit whatever is changed.... meanwhile SOE will still be making publishes changing things even more... further complicating the process.
I guess the point i'm trying to make here is... i'm not sure if I believe this rumor because the logic just seems too backwards. The game will still suck. BIOWARE/PANDEMIC doesn't have the best relationship with LA and I can't for the life of me understand WHY they would take this project on.... it's a loser. It's professional suicide. No one in the industry wants it... BIOWARE/PANDEMIC especially wouldn't want it.
UNLESS it's a completly new Star Wars MMO with absolutly nothing to do with Galaxies then I can understand.... but SWG 1.75? I fully believe LA wants to do this, but BIOWARE/PANDEMIC?

But also we need to see, that Lucas did that because the game wasnt the one (numbers) Lucas wanted to see, thats why they started to change things.
For me, the pre-CU sandbox was never the problem, it was the inbalance and the massive amount of bugs, the bad customerservice did the rest.
If Bioware is able to bring back some kind of a pre-CU game with exactly the fixes the game needs, get rid of the gazillion bugs and offer a service worth to pay for, LEC might not even step up even.
I hope it will turn out this way, assuming the rumour to be true anyway.

The most horrid thing that could happen is, that the customer gets aware that SoE is out.
Imagine:
Publish postings, hotfixes, ideas, threads about fixes, content etc etc etc:
All ZILCH !
If someone official would say now "It's true" - from THAT verys moment on SoE would be a Zombie just waiting for the silver bullet.
And the game would immediatly lose the last subscriptions.
