Obraik, with only 45 people attending the last summit. Even you must see that the game is dying fast. 30-40 people doing PvP in restuss does not make a communtiy. Ive seen some of the old vets returning just to dissaper in a few days. Ive recruited a lot of new people to my guild. NONE of them stay ingame more than 1-2 weeks. ALL of them said the game was crap/not what they expected. NONE of them liked the legacy quests. This game is dying fast now, it just had some fresh blood added due to summer break.
Soon i will go too, rebuilding my guild with my friends in a true SWG

My whole argument here hasn't been whether the NGE is a success or not, but whether Brenlo said it was a failure or not.
Who really cares who screwed up. The biggest thing this says to me is "we screwed up, but we're smarter than you stupid customers, so we're not going to fix it the way you want us to. We're going to continue doing the smart thing that we know we are doing."
This is a large slap in the face, all he's trying to do is defend what smedley said about the IP being the problem and that DC comics is doing a much better job at it than LA. He was trying to put out a fire, and instead poured gas on to it.

And it is the majority of the player base that won't come back. And that will ultimately be the business decision that causes the game to shutdown: they continue to loose and not gain market as they have been doing at an accelerated rate for the past 9 months.

Its a feable attempt at an appology... Something big is coming.. SOE people are trying to get their side of the fence cleaned up. However you ant to interpret this, its a bad sign. Not once has SOE ever wanted to appologize for the NGE.
To those who say its not an appology or admitance of failure... If the NGE was such a huge success then Brenlos letter would of not been needed. Garava or Virrago or Nadias or Swgmods would of jsut locked that topic.
Actually having SOE admit the NGE is a failure is like asking Ford to take responsibility for all the roll over accidents on the Explorer. You ask ford it was firestones fault, you ask firestone and it was fords fault. In the end both companies faced wrongdoing.
If you want to take Brenlos statment with a grain of salt and argue the fine points of the NGE, thats fine. Go ahead. The game sucks. There is no amount of coding that is going to change it. People aregue that the p-re cu opr cu was for a niche market. That maybe true, but the NGE found an even smaller niche market.

If they failed to deliver a working game that was acceptable to the vast majority of the playerbase, then concept and design are pretty immaterial

He said "Personally, I believe the concept of the NGE was sound." He personally believes this, implying that we think it wasn't.
Who really cares who screwed up. The biggest thing this says to me is "we screwed up, but we're smarter than you stupid customers, so we're not going to fix it the way you want us to. We're going to continue doing the smart thing that we know we are doing."
This is a large slap in the face, all he's trying to do is defend what smedley said about the IP being the problem and that DC comics is doing a much better job at it than LA. He was trying to put out a fire, and instead poured gas on to it.

And it is the majority of the player base that won't come back. And that will ultimately be the business decision that causes the game to shutdown: they continue to loose and not gain market as they have been doing at an accelerated rate for the past 9 months.
