People making fake accounts to give Vanguard all 1's

I happened to notice as Vanguard starts to move down from top game how there are some suspect accounts. I know we've heard it all before but I had to voice it.

An account named RPG_Ash gives the comment "Utter rubbish" as his comment on the Vanguard vote meter so I had to look into it. The guys account was started today February 9th, he has exactly 10 posts which all consist of between 2 and 10 words. In case you didnt know you have to make 10 posts so that you can vote in the ratings.

I don't mind people voting badly for Vanguard because they don't like it. Hey, not every game is everyones cup of tea, but to make alternate accounts to falsely bring down Vanguards score now that is just so insane. RPG_Ash, whoever you are, you are a sad little monkey, and so is anyone else who would make alternate accounts just to vote either negatively or positively to change a games rating.

Truly pathetic!

    And then again there are a number of people who blindly give this game all 10s without truly giving the game a fair evaluation.

    It happens. The WoW fanbois are just so used to games handing them everything on a silver platter that they have to trash anything new or challenging.

    Ah yes...did you notice that 4 different (at least 4) people wrote the same lengthy comment over the past two weeks...it has to do with saying it has everything you hated from EQ. 



    The Utter Rubbish one is great though....that guy must have played a lot to have such an in depth review of it!

    Funny Anarchyart, where was this concern when people were creating accounts and giving it nothing but 10's on it's first few days after release? Which was posted about in General, I'll look for the thread now.

    Yeah it's not cool but let's be fair here, its' gone both ways, as it always does on this site.

    Well I don't know if it's because of that or if it's because the game get's hyped all the way to the top in the begining but after awhile after it wears off it will fall. We will prolly even see it fall from the main page within the next 2-3 weeks

    As I said in my post, making alternate accounts to falsley make a games score go up or down is pathetic.

    It is pathetic, however I think there are probably more "10s" than "1s" in this case. The game is good, but with the problems it has, it really did not belong on the top of the list. The lag/performance category alone should have lost it top rank.

    Right. Because the only people who could possibly have created fake accounts are WoW players. 



    Honestly, you guys need to give the WoW hatred a rest. It's getting old, and has long passed the point of ridiculous. Contrary to popular belief, there isn't some sort of widespread conspiracy out to "get" Vanguard. The game will either succeed or fail entirely on its own, just like every other game out there.

    I am not having any Lag/performace issues in vanguard.

    My system:

    AMD 5200

    Geforce 8800

    2 gigs DDR2

    Game runs great and Looks great.

    But, back to the OP.

    Yes it is sad and pathetic for people to do that either good or bad. But, we are dealing with Humans though so it is to be expected since way to many are uneducated buffoons and love to trash stuff that they really know nothing about. Or the opposite is true and love something to a point where they are blinded to the truth. Happens every day in RL so why would you expect it to be any different here?

    I'll give you the performance issues. Although after I upgraded my vid card and power supply I've gotten awesome performance.

    However, there is no way in hell that you can convince me that Guild Wars is better than Vanguard. It's just not... in any shape form or fashion. Guild Wars just can't hold my attention. It's a shallow, shallow game.

    EVE online is boring. The combat sucks. Real time skill training is beyond stupid. 28 days to train a skill?!!! Gimme a break. Not to mention that every single region of space looks almost exactly the same. EVE sucks and I'm sick of all the EVE fanbois on this site acting like it's the end all be all MMO.

    As far as EQ2 is concerned, I can't say as I just can't get into that game. I don't like the graphics and the way they implemented alot of things.

    And yesterday, DAoC was ranked higher than Vanguard. That game is horriblely outdated and not very fun.

    ROFL.  I thought the same thing days ago when checking ratings.   I noticed a bunch of negative reviews yesterday, all with "it sux" type of posts.  I suspected they were bogus.  Thanks to the OP for confirming this.

    Luckily, i don't need you to like me to enjoy video games. -nariusseldon.

    No argument with you there, K. The rating system on this site is pretty borked.
    I don't trust these ratings at all, too many people make accounts to pad their favorite (or least favorite) game one way or another. They should make 6 month membership to the site and a minimum of 50 forum posts a requirement to vote, that way people could get a more genuine idea. And regularly purge 'BS' accounts while waiting for that 6 months to elapse.

    Nyn, I agree, there are more 10s.  The ratings prove that.  However, I doubt any 10s were created by people who never played the game.  Contrarily, I think most of the 1s are created by people who never played the release version of VG.

    Nyn, I'm curious of the following:

    1.  What class do you play in VG

    2.  What race

    3.  What starting city

    4.   Name a few mobs you've fought and a few quests you've done.  Don't need to be specific; just describe it to me.  I don't need to know you killed an "angry chicken01" but I do need to know you fought some mobs that looked like chickens.

    Certainly someone who has played the game enough to post the huge lists of issues you've mentioned will answer these questions in seconds.  And since you post here a lot, I'm watching the clock. :)

    Comeon, the ratings have always been horrible on this site.  Eve number 1!?  Nooo.  I played it, I had fun for a bit, but in NO way is that THE number 1 mmorpg imho.  Oh well.  But, comeon dude, some kind of consipracy?  Nahhh.

    Seeing as how on this place gave Anarchy Online a rating of 9 for its graphics....

    Who cares?

    I've never taken ratings seriously on this site. If this site had realistic, good, and accurate ratings, WoW would always be at #1 for sheer population reasons. Anarchy Online would not have a 9 for graphics.

    When it comes to the ratings.....who cares...

    Could be perhaps the guy never made an account here until s/he decided they must vote on VG they disliked it so much.



    The polls here have ALWAYS been bias. Just look at the highly popular "EvE" game getting top ranks. Hah, yeah highly popular. VG and EvE will probably be on par for the same number of players.

    Go play LOTRO its way better.

    The OP is just a vanboi, i don't think that hardly anyone who doesn't liek the game can be bothered to make a ALT account to give it a 1. There will be much more vanbois creating accounts to give it a 10 : Personally i think the top rated games list is a joke lol. EVE Online is a solid game but it doesn't deserve top and it's the same for GW (which isn't even a mmorpg) and Vanguard lol i'm not sure what Ryzom is doing there too.

    And don't forget im sure WOW,Guildwars,ect ....have had there fiair of negative feed back from made up accounts.So i guess it all evens up in the end

    IT's fact however these forums are the vocal minority, most people that play games and make up these accounts on the mmorpgs don't come visit the forums. I'm pretty sure if everyone who buys mmorpgs voted would say Vanguard is crap and it wouldn't be up there. You should be lucky that this site is made up of people who are unhappy with their current mmorpgs.



    WOW is lower down on the list only because most the people who play it are happy and don't care about this site.

    That would require WoW fanbois to know this on any other MMORPG site existed. Most seem to find there way here after they've lost interest in WoW, which is probably why WoW rates so bad.

    I don't care in the least what any of you are playing or what any of you rate a game. If I enjoy a game I will play it, no matter what any "hater" or "fanboy" says and if I don't like a game I won't play it no matter what any "hater" or "fanboy" says. I will play a game I enjoy no matter what reviews are saying or some website's rate system says. Its my time and money and I'll be damned if I let some internet morons even influence me a little. I play games to have fun and if a game provides me with that then I'm happy. If a game isn't fun to me then I move on. Pretty simple really.

    Dear Lord people, look at yourselves. Your sitting at your computers and flaming/ranting/complaining/bitching/fighting over video games...It is sad and pathetic.
