Wow is dieing based on your visions? Show proof. You must be a EVE or SWG troll. Be gone.

    Hehehe, isn't WoW always Dying?

Can we not ask a little common sense here. Let's say, worse case scenario that WoW were to loose 50% of it's population, that's what? 4million player worldwide.... Whoa yeah, soooooooooooo DEAD !!!

Will subscriptions dip down eventualy, OF COURSE THEY WILL. Dear god at what point did you people start to see that as dead? If we were to go by what you people think of as dead EQ2 would have a foot in the ground about 1.5 years ago and Vanguard would be buried and having it's tombstone engraved.

WoW will continue to be a gigantic success, just as it should be and we should all be damned thankfull it is. More investors have had more interest in MMO Project because of it's success, it's put the genre truely on the mass market. Let's not forget it's braught so many gamers to the genre that will eventually go to other games and help populate outwards.

Oh and right... let's not forget the people Blizzard employs and the games they'll be able to produce thanks their financial success with WoW.

Yeah real smart, keep hoping for the Death of World of Warcraft and I'll keep on hoping it keeps doing as well as it deserves. Which is a lot.

Just read all the press release, you'll see that NA numbers are rising and rising.
The press release was before TBC came out. oh and you think, despite the fact that TBC received great scores everywhere, that people suddenly left in mass amounts? yeah, just keep telling yourself that. besides, Blizzard has so many subscribers, it will outlive all mmorpg's released in 2 years from now.

I just told myself that WoW is dying. For someone who thinks that WoW isn't dying, you sure do take offense to someone bashing it. And why aren't you playing WoW right now? Since it's the holy grail of MMOs.

lol these posts make me laugh

wow could lose 90% of its player base and it would still have the largest amount of subs

plus who gives a poop people leave ANY online game they are replaced by fresh noobs, daoc,eq,eq2,uo,swg  all these games had the same stupid posts by real life noobs years ago and yet they are still going.

if you are bored of a game move on play a new one or do what ever no one gives a rats ass if you are bored or think a game is dieing

Wow is still tons of fun for the newbies and thats why there numbers may still be increasing subscription wise. But alot of members who have been playing for a year or longer are starting to get bored with the game. Wows popularity is waning but its a good game and it will go strong for awhile. Alot of people are also only playing wow right now to kill time until another game comes out. I am not hating on Wow it is a really well done game its just showing its age thats all.

Lol are you kidding me?  It will outlive all mmorpgs released in 2 years from now? hahahaha thats the most rediculous thing ive heard.  How will a game already outdated survive even the mmorpgs coming out this year?  WAR, AoC, even LOTRO.  I guarantee they lose atleast half of the US subrscibers within the next 8 months.  Wake up

WoW's doing just fine, I'm sure that just about every other game developer out there wishes their game was doing as "badly" as WOW is right now....

I used to play, had a lot of fun, burned out (like I do on every game), and moved on.....

Well ... AoC and WAR might eventually overtake WoW... I doubt LOTRO will though.

Lets assume someone plays on 100 different servers

They know another 99 people on each of those servers who recently quit

These numbers are overstated to hell.

    100 players x 100 servers = 10,000

    (10,000 / 8500000)x100 = 0.1% of WoW total player base quit.

Your math is based on them using alts as the population numbers, but they use active accounts.  So if 100 people quit, that is 100 accounts, it does not matter how many characters they had on how many servers.

    So using your mathematical assumptions:

100 players/8500000x100=0.0012% of WoW total player base quit.

WoW isn't dying at all, and I wouldn't take seriously anyone who spells "DIEING" - anyway you're just wrong.

BTW: I really agree with what you said about the expansion, it is truely horrible.

World of Warcraft is a proof that MMORPG quality should affect schedule/budget and not the other way around.

The expansion ruined a lot of good guilds, the downsizing was probably a horrid idea. Now guilds are more concerned about being Elitists and end up breaking up for dumb reasons, or being stuck on a boss for more than a week.

I'm pretty glad I canceled my subscription.

Forgive me for laughing at that statement. WoW is at 8.5 million subscribers, WoW isn't outdated, far from it. WoW will easily outlive WAR, AOC and Lotro. actually, Blizzard probably already made more money from WoW then all those 3 games combined will make in their entire lifetime. I'm wide awake, it seems you are the one dreaming that WAR, AoC and Lotro are the new big kids on the block. haha.

When I actually see WoW dying, (i.e. losing 3-4 million subscribers) then tell us that WoW is "dieing" but until you have actual proof, SHUT THE HELL UP

Calm down my good man, WOW is not dying in fact it could lose half it's subscriptions and still be on top.

Now will WOW loose some subscriptions with upcoming releases certainly, but rumors of it's demise are quite premature.

    Read this for the numbers

I bet WoW will be around longer than Diablo 2, which is still very much alive after 7 years

I agree with you, with upcoming expansions regardless if you have 8 million people buying it, or 4million you're going to make a lot of money

Let say only 2 million buy an expansion in the first week:

2,000,000 x 29.99 (not including special editions, bastards.)

Approx $59980000 not including marketing+distribution etc.

now 12.99 x lets say roughly 7 million

    Approx. $90930000

(this raw income, and trust me there's probably a lot more factors I didn't add on to this amount it's probably higher so forgive me.)

so in one month they pulled a crap load of money, add the two together, my brain hurts to much to do anymore math.

Overall, sorry if I'm wrong but I completely agree with you, they pull more in a month than I think most MMO's will make till they shut down. Even if they lose a lot of subscriptions. It will not phase blizzard.

ahem.... 8.5 million dont think so.

Are you guys even aware of the tourneys going on in WSVG in America/China this summer?  WoW is becoming a competitive game.... lol.  3v3 tourneys for over 10,000 USA DOLLARS.  The game is only getting stronger.... A lot of professionals in esports are switching to the game actually to make money.  Pandemic recently won the 3v3 tourney in China..... NOT DYING

Wow Is a fun game but PvP is not so great.   I Don't see it dying off yet, but losing members to new mmos seems envitable.
