Hey mmofan. If you ordered from newegg, check the pictures they have on the upperleft hand corner ffor that mobo. Normally they have a picture of everything included with the package, including the SATA cables.

I was planning on upgrading my comp...putting in an Athlon 64 3200+, new Mobo (obviously), 1 gig RAM, etc...
But, with socket 939 processors out now, should I wait for the prices to drop and just go with one of those? Since I have to get a laptop before I can upgrade the desktop, it wouldn't be until the end of the summer anyway. I know the 939s support dual channel RAM better than the 754s, in which only certain MoBos can actually support the feature.

It can have 7 80mm fans in 4 on the front, 2 on the back and one on the window. I have 7 80mm fans in my case and its sweet, its abit noisy but thats the price you have to pay if you want a super-cool computer. I have two tri colour fans in the back and a blue one in the window along with two 4" blue neon tubes one at the front of the case and one at the rear. it looks the dogs.
The description on the Logitech Netplay controller web site says that it's only for PS2. But I've heard it can be used on PC. Anyone knows how it's connected to PC?
Just got my brand new case and it came with 350 watt of power and 4 fans installed already and it had space for another 4 so i bought 4 thermaltake 2 blue 2 green fans also put a Arctic Cooling VGA silencer REV3 on my 9800 pro video card. I have no words my system is super cool a bit noisy but im running my 9800 OC to 9800XT speeds and running every game perfect everything maxed out.
NOW im awaiting on EQ2 and DOOM3 cause my system wants some challenge these days.
Not new to gaming, but new to this site - so far it looks fairly kickin!
Started reading the posts here and was going to reply, but then decided that perhaps I should first get my feet wet by asking a question instead of spouting opinions
I'm considering upgrading my video and cooling solution for my case. I've got a decent/good 350W case, a AMD 2500, 2GB of 3200 RAM, something over 400GB in RAM, etc.
My Current Video solution is the GeForce 5600 - bought when it was the shite. My Cooling solution is enough fans to cause me to fear it lifting off the ground soon. (and before you pop me in the eye for that silly comment - here I'll do it for ya )
My considerations are to go to either the Newest ATI card or the newest NVidia card. I've been a HUGE fan of the NVidia line for awhile (although my undying loyalty in them falter a bit when the 4 series crap came about). I Play MOSTLY DAoC (Dark Age of Camelot) and am curious to hear if anyone has tested the two cards (or seen both run the game) and can provide feedback on which is the better choice.
NOTE: I also play Horizons and EQ from time to time...
Secondly: I'm really seriously considering moving to a Water Cooled solution - realizing that I'm gonna drop a minimum of $400.00 on it - I figured I'd get some feedback from all of you here...
I'm not seeing a lot of water cooled convos going on - so I'm curious to know if it has to do with Cost, Efficiency, or just the fear of placing water near our valuable little 'puter parts.
Anywayz,
I look forward to hearing any constructive comments from you guys (although if you wanna give unconstructive ones, just make sure they are funny so I can laugh...)
well if you read back 10 pages or so you'll see a 'light' disscussion on the x800 and the 6800 (new graphics cards) and it was decided that the x800 was better
About water cooling, its quite a nice touch to a modded case, im not certain on its effectivness becuase i havent ventured that far yet. My thoughts are that water and expensive comp kit doesnt work, but it looks (from others) that its quite secure and safe to do it, hey they wouldnt sell it otherwise, right?
All the links go to Newegg, where I'll prolly get most of it. Tho if I find something cheaper elsewhere naturally I'll go there. Anyone see any problems with any of it? Know of better options etc? Some things will change I'm sure, like I'm still trying to convince myself whether or not I really want to spend $1270 on Ram alone. Anyway, lemme know what you think.

Ok my time for questions. Anyone know the minimum psu req. for the 9600pro? I had the unfortunate experience of buyign a Dell almost 2 years ago and I had the Geforce4 440 Mx installed and I need to upgrade that piece of crap. It has only a 250 watt psu. I know that may not be enough but I can take off the modem and probly a couple other cards I don't use to save power.
Now I know you might be asking why not just up the psu? Well if anyone knows about Dell's mobos then they know Dell uses a proproetary mobo and uses a different power connector. If you try to use a non-Dell psu it will fry the board. The even bigger problem is Dell refuses to sell me a psu without buying a whole new pc, F-ing bastards.
Anyways will it work without degrading performance? I gotta get a new card until I build my new PC in January. I play BFV with this card and it looks like the original launch of WWII Online .
Also, I know that the 9200 will work on a 250w psu, but is it worth upgrading to it from the Geforce 4 440 MX?

Hey dekron. Sorry to hear bout your dilemma. Here are the system requirements for a 9600Pro.
RADEON 9600 PRO requires connection to your PC's internal power supply for operation. Consult your system builder or OEM to ensure your system has an adequate power supply. Otherwise ATI recommends a 300 watt power supply or greater to ensure normal system operation where a number of other internal devices are installed. Intel® Pentium® 4/III/II/Celeron, AMD® K6/Duron/Athlon®/Athlon XP® or compatible with AGP 2X (3.3v), 4X (1.5V), 8X (0.8v) or Universal AGP 3.0 bus configuration (2X/4X/8X). 128MB of system memory Installation software requires CD-ROM drive DVD playback requires DVD drive
I don't believe your power supply will cut it. You can buy a 9200, and it will be a better card. It won't be as good as the 9600Pro, but it will hold you over till you build a new system. Hell, thats what I did. I use a 9200, 128mb and I can play UT2k4, AA, SoR open beta, Jedi Knigts, played GW alpha demo. Mind you I'm not burning up the fps, but it was a big improvement over my old 7000 card. Probably the best card for under $70 US.
I would recommend the Gigabyete ATI Radeon 9200 at Newegg.com for $68.99 + taxes and shipping. It will out perform both the Sapphire and PowerColor versions as well as ATI's. You'll want to install the catalyst 4.6 driver from ATI though if you get this card for best performance. Good luck.

i would like to help if i was living close enough, i could wire a new psu to the old connector you got there, hmm but i live in Turkey, ask around the board to see if there are people with mutimeters and modding knowledge
Shit i'm bad... I self educated myself in ways of controlling feelings, now nothing feels like it's true... gotta be an assasin or sumtin.
it isn't finished yet, IMHO wait for a month for the new socket athlon 64's, they are much much better and with ram, nothing will need 2gb's of that, buy a 512x2 probly mushkin 2-2-2 if you want low latency athlon stuff or go higher mhz if you dont want it. And definetly oc it
I woudlnt pay $638 for the ram, you should get the OCZ ones thats what i have and im running a AMD 3200+ OC to 3800 with nice cooling. And for the Video card dont get the GeForce 6800 get the X800 XT P.E Less power requirements and same price and the X800 pretty much is better than the 6800, oh also it only takes 1 spot where the 6800 is 2 slots and requires alot of cooling.
other than that ur other stuff looks great ALWAYS shop at newegg.com i build about 5 systems and bought all stuff from newegg.com best price, best selection, best delivery.
Aleister u will have a nice system if you buy all that and what i reccomend.
OK this is the memory: OCZ Performance Series Dual Channel 184-Pin 2GB (1GBx2) DDR PC-3200 - RetailOCZ Performance Series Dual Channel 184-Pin 2GB (1GBx2) DDR PC-3200 - Retail$528
The video card u can pre-order. If i were u id wait till the X800 XT P.E is out cause its the best out there by farrr.
This is a really good card also u can never beat the ATI color and graphics: ATI RADEON X800 PRO Video Card, 256MB GDDR3, 256-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP -RETAIL
Also u not gonna buy processor fan and other fans for ur case: if u are these are the best:
Thermaltake SILENT BOOST Highest Performance Cooler for AMD AthlonXP up to 3400+ -RETAIL
Thermaltake "Blue-Eye" High Performance 80mm LED Case Fan -RETAIL x2 would be real good.
As for the video card, convince me why I should go with the ATI over the nvidia? I don't want to hear personal opinions or "ATI pwnz nvidia" or any of that crap. From what I could tell it seemed like the 6800ultra was the better card, maybe I read the wrong reviews... That on top of the fact that I've had problems with ATIs in the past and never had any problems with nividias is what led me to make the decision I did.
Richard J. Cox "There were much of the beautiful, much of the wanton, much of the bizarre, something of the terrible, and not a little of that which might have excited disgust."
For that part i think its opinion only but the X800 XT P.E is not out yet but if u have read the new PC-GAmer magazine it compares both of them and the X800 beats it by little and forgot that the 6800 needs 2 12v from ur Power Supply where the X800 is only 1 12v and it only needs 350 watt where the 6800 is 480+.
Well i hope u have fun playing tons of games on the system ur getting. Good Luck man.

ok then 9600PRO it is... $4 cheaper too... so i think im good?
case wise, should i get one with more fan slots? like..
- CODEGEN 3307-CA (BLACK/SILVER) MIDDLE TOWER
probably this one though... CODEGEN 6049-C10(CHARCOAL GRAY) MIDDLE TOWER ($37)
it has 2 more fans, and has a 350w power supply instead of 300w
im pretty sure it would be cheaper if i bought all the parts from newegg and assembled myself... i just dont trust myself to do all of that...
so thanks for everyones help, i think i got all i need now... now lets wait for it and test it out
-Scott

Ok, looking to build a new computer once the IRS unasses my tax return, came up with a preliminary outline and wanted to know what you guys thought:
Case: Cooler Master Wave Master Black Model "TAC-T01-EK" - Can't go wrong with a Cooler Master case. Period.
Motherboard: ASUS "A8V Deluxe Wi-Fi" K8T800 Pro - IMHO the best Mobo going.
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3200+, 1 MB L2 Cache - Seems like the best value/performance ratio.
Ram: Corsair XMS, (Twin Pack) 184 Pin 2GB(1GBx2) DDR PC-3200 (x2 for 4GB total) - 'Nuff Said
HDD: Samsung 160GB 7200RPM SATA (x2, 320GB total) - Dunno here, better suggestions?
Video Card: 256MB, DDR3 GeForce 6800 Ultra - This is the PNY, will get the ASUS version if it comes out in time, but as it stands now prefer the PNY to the BFG.
Monitor: ViewSonic G220fb 21" PerfectFlat CRT Monitor
Power Supply: ENERMAX 550W PSU (with Copper Shielding for better EMI reduction)
Sound Card: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS PCI
Speakers: Creative Inspire T7700 7.1 Surround Sound Speaker System
DVD-Rom: Asus Black 16X DVD-ROM Drive
DVD-RW: ASUS Black 8X DVD+RW/-RW Drive
Floppy: NEC 1.44MB Black Internal Floppy Drive
Keyboard: Zboard Starter System
Mouse: Microsoft TrackBall Optical USB PS/2

I already have a clear idea of what i'm getting for my computer. But i'm still not sure where to purchase from.
Lately i've been keeping my eye on Tigerdirect.ca
Although they don't seem to have any new graphics cards in... Which is a major setback.
Does anybody know any good online sites where you can customize a computer, and ships to Canada?
NVidia - The way it is meant to be played
ATI - The way it really plays, if it's working....
