1. Obviously you haven't PvP'd in WoW for a while as Civilians and Dishonorable kills were removed over 6 months ago.
2. If you don't like WoW, then don't play it. Just becaue it's a 500 lb. gorilla, doesn't mean it needs your input.
3. You obviously haven't played a pally lately as they are one of the games best, if not the best multi target tank.
Go find an MMO or a wall to stare at.
You're right, I quit after their flop expansion came out.
I don't like WoW because it's a lousy MMORPG. The only reason people play it I believe is because it's a kiddy MMORPG where everyone sits in the zone talking about linkin park music etc. Lol. If you like listening to 15 year olds on ventrilo 5 hours a night, WoW is for you.
3) Lol. They can tank now? Can they tank raid NPCs or offtank anything in raids? I remember in BWL that paladins couldnt even tank trash NPCs there without dying. You probably mean best multi target tank for trash mobs.
Find an MMO? They all suck, what can I say. EQ was probably the only decent MMORPG ever made, but then sucked ever since luclin was released.
Even though they may have removed those honor hit NPCs, that doesnt mean that world PVP is existant in WoW. The facts are, that its just not worth it to raid a town, kill their leader etc. You're better off just grinding taurens in battlegrounds for honor.
ginkeq or what ever your name is all you sound like is a big 300 lb. women on menopause...dont play it if you dont like it and if wow wasnt a good solid game it would have 8 million people playing it ...yes its basic and who are you to say that people are dumb for having conversation in an MMO(MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE) so stop ranting and find something else in life than to just forum raid on people who like games.
Having never got to 70 on wow I cannot comment on end game so I'm quite sure the flames will come but since we are talking PvP most of your post is about lack of it or lack of end game. There really is no answer to your dilemma....stating the obvious. WoW is still appealing because for some like me it is relatively new experience( even though I played from day one). Most people look for a smooth PvE experience which WoW has to a certain extent but for me fails in that I cannot wait for raids to get the gear needed to compete as I am a casual player. Wow is definitely very gear orientated which is sad for most of the casual gamers out there. End game PvP could be a lot better for everyone and PvP ranks for kills, deaths or whatever other stats you want to come up with would benefit the end game and course this would need to have some sort of world PvP to attain it. People with less gear could still over time gain PvP kill ranks/abilities and get closer to the power gaming community, it may take longer but it could still happen. Most of this is not new and elements of this appear in many games and I have to say but DAOC still has the best PvP system and end game PvP system out there, probably why WAR is number one rated for the best MMO coming.
At the end of the day enjoyment comes in many forms and if we all could come up with the "perfect" MMO we would all be doing so. As we can't and probably never will we can just keep writing shit like this........
Play what you want if you want to PvP then find it. If you want to PvE then find it. I enjoy anything that's a challenge for me PvP is more fun as everyone is a live player. I will say though that some of my best MMO experiences have been with PvE encounters so that tells me that I need both to enjoy an MMO.
Imagination gives us great power but only wisdom puts it to good use.
Everything I said was true. WoW is just a lousy MMORPG, plain and simple. I cant comment on how it is if you never get to play the endgame. MMORPGs are supposed to require SOME time investment. It's idiotic to pretend that a person who plays 10 minutes a day should have a fair chance against someone who plays more than 10 minutes.
To say that WoW is a game only for levels 1-60 or 1-70 is stupid. That's just an excuse for blizzards crappy endgame which is non existant.
So, EQs grind was a lot worse, but it was more enjoyable in the end. Even the raids were more exciting, something about EQ raids were unpredictable, whereas with WoW if you beat an NPC once, it's pretty much trivial to do it again.
WoW completely lacked any enjoyable PvE and PvP at the end. So I guess blizzards purpose was to make a game you level up to 70 in and quit? Yeah ok. The facts are that companies are making lousy games and the people who are trying to find ANYTHING will flock to them. WoW is just the biggest example of that.. I hope something decent comes out, because currently everything out there sucks.
If all MMORPGs are going to be made in the image of WoW(which all these idiots are saying is so "successful"), then I think MMORPGs are screwed. Who would want a game where you log in and anything you do is boring? MMORPGs should be fun to play regardless of what you are doing in them. People just play WoW because every aspect of it is simple, including PvE and PvP. They dont even require skill. In PvP you have to fight the same scrubs over and over, and it doesn't even factor in player skill.
It's only these newbies who never actually PvPed or PvEd in WoW that will come here and defend how great their PvP or PvE system is. What a joke
Time investment is one thing. Signing your life over to the game is another. Endgame is not a game. It's doing the same thing over and over again, but unlike the rest of the game there is very little progression, you are repeating the same content many more times, and it requires you to sign your life and your health away IMO. During the leveing period there is character progression, stories to read, lots equipment to find, crafting to level, etc. After that it's pointless. You can't create enough content to keep people happy forever.
Anyway you are welcome to your own opinion on what a MMO should, be but you seem to be so sure you are right that you are trying to dictate it on others. Let people make up their own mind on what a MMO should be. You had your say and you say the same thing over and over again.

Well, obviously they are noobs whose opinion is false, naturally if they don't agree with you.
I guess you missed the "Rules of a Social Character"-Course in you Childhood? Opinions differ. In your opinion WoW is crap. Many others think it isn't bad, but it isn't the grail of MMOs either (as I do, for example). Then there are others, probably those who played since Launch, who have fun playing WoW.
WoW IS successful, you can't deny that. It probably is the most successful western MMO ever (and the second most successful worldwide, Lineage or Lineage 2 was/is more successful), and it is because it obviously is fun for a large crowd.
Let a Monkey PvP against the Arena Nr. 1 Guy, give the Monkey all Legendary Gear you want while the Arena Guy fights in Greens, I swear the Arena Guy will win. So obviously WoW requires SOME skill.
So, either add "IMO" in your Post, or I say you are just plain horribly wrong.
1. Obviously you haven't PvP'd in WoW for a while as Civilians and Dishonorable kills were removed over 6 months ago.

Thats becuase palladins are a support/hybrid class! Support classes should NEVER be better than a main class at what a main class does. If pallies could tank even equally as well as warriors then why the hell would anyone play a warrior? If they could heal more than a priest, why teh hell would anyone play a priest?
I agree not many people engage in the non-instanced pvp, but thats the communities fault because the content is there. I personally think the arenas are much more challenging and fun to do, then go raid x-roads one more time, or fight the 12 people trying to take Halaa. The expansion made an obvious effort to include world pvp, and youve called it a flop. So its a flop because they've included ellements that you have been wanting in the game? It just doesnt make sense.
And how can you complain about the classes being unbalanced when you were a paladin, the most overowered class in the game. There is no class that can foil the bubble, no matter what uber gear theyre wearing.
Paladins were actually pretty good when the game first came out. They got their new talents right at release. I remember seal of the crusader was the best pally buff by far for so long until they nerfed it. Pallies were pretty good DPS at the time. I believe Pallies are better then priests at healing because they got their DPS nerfed really bad. Healing was the only thing left for them after that. I can't say I agree with it, but that was how they wanted it.
Lol paladins. Blizzard didnt know what they were doing with them from the start. They first started with a protection tree that sucked, had all these tanking abilities that were absolutely worthless. I believe the last skill was something useless like repetance.. Yeah, that is real useful. They get all those tanking abilities, and if they try to tank even a garbage mob in MC they would die in a hit. They have a ret tree that is completely useless is PVE. Paladins arent even supposed to melee when doin PvE, its just heal everyone else basically. So what do they get left with, holy tree? LOL. Paladins just a) cast blessings b) cast DI and c) cast heals /rezzes. They probably shouldnt even exist as a class, because most MMORPGs that make sense would allow paladins to tank nearly as good as warriors. But no, you can only tank up to ... blackrock spire? maybe? And you probably wouldnt be able to tank the bosses, that is how stupid WoW is.
Then they put some other useless ability in the protection tree and moved repetance to retribution for some reason (idiot ret paladins who just PvP all day). lol
A lot of the paladin spells didnt work. Blessing of freedom wouldnt remove a lot of snare effects. Then blizzard admitted that some of the skills in the protection tree had no effect(which were in the game for like a year by then)
Lol at the endgame is boring comment. Why would anyone play an MMORPG if the endgame was supposed to be boring. People are just to addicted to quit their character that they spent hundreds of hours playing. That's the only reason people who are max level play. Everyone I talked to in my guild who was 60 thought that the game was boring (this was pre TBC but still, not much has changed except new zones and a few new bgs).
I guarantee the endgame would be fun if you had to fight other guilds for NPCs. People would actually care, even if they thought the raid was once boring, the fact that they have to beat other guilds just to kill it would make the game enjoyable. But clearly too hardcore for WoWs braindead players. Instead, you have to go into an instance to kill anything. Lol @ WoW.
My guild on the PvP server didnt pvp, no one else did either. World PvP in WoW isnt there. WoW is just a PVE game with NO pvp. The battlegrounds are just bullshit put in there to waste time..
Lol @ the newb who said it's the players fault for not taking advantage of world pvp. When ever sits in their hometown and repeats the same instanced BG every few minutes, what the hell do you expect? Some of you people amaze me, how stupid you are. lol. If anything, it is Blizzards fault for putting in a garbage PVP system to save their own bandwidth due to people world pvping. Now what you have is a boring PVE and PVP system, where the PVP is fake and the PVE is uncontested & boring
It sounds to me like you aren't really interested in the PvE at all and just want a PvP game. Most MMOs are centered around the PvE and character progression and a lot of people enjoy it even if you don't. Guildwars sounds more like what you want or something that isn't really a MMORPG, but just a MMO with PvP with little to no character progression.
No, what he really wants is to be able to tag along with 39 other people (10 of whom are actually doing something) to get epic PVE gear so that he can win every PVP encounter. The rest of his complaints are extraneous.
He's pissed that all the time wasted in PVE encounters pre-TBC doesn't give him a distinct advantage over everybody else.

All I read was "WAHH I PLAY WOW HE INSULTED MY GAME". Seriously, get a clue. I can beat anyone here on a level 40 paladin in deadmines gear, I don't need a gear advantage to beat the skill-less newbies who play trivial MMORPGS like WoW.
So you took one of my points and maybe you dont know how to read but it's been explained. Every expansion your gear is obsolete, and replaced by 5 minute solo quests. Yeah that is real fun. I wonder why blizzard would make it so easy for people who suck to get better gear than skilled PvErs? Oh to sell more games.. screw over anyone who beat your PvE endgame.. lol

Were you upset when you upgraded gear you got from Stratholme with gear you got from Molten Core? It's the same thing...
You're clearly an idiot. Molten core is more difficult than stratholme. The 5 minute quests in TBC (soloable) vs Naxxramus. Yeah I guess with you being a complete newbie you don't know how difficult that is. I bet you never raided anything past Scholomance. Otherwise you wouldn't be so confused about my logic
LOL...just because I don't agree with your rant, I'm an idiot? I was in a guild that had naxx on farm status and not one single person in my guild cared about quest rewards in Outland when TBC came out. The *only* people who seem to care are the ones who used to use their PVE epics in PVP to steamroll anybody who didn't have five hours a night to raid.
You dont have to agree with my rant to know that naxx is harder than 5 minute quests in TBC. But you'd have to be an idiot to suggest that is similar to Stratholme ->Molten Core
Blizzard has only had one expansion and it was way after the release. Most MMOs have more then that. They seem to be going in a more casual player direction from the sounds of it as I said before. You seem to interpret that as they are catoring to the idiots who can't raid. My interpretation is that they are catoring to the smart people who don't want to waste all their time doing raids and in doing so are getting more people to play. Sure the content is easier, but the key is it's less time consuming and who really cares if a game is hard. There are lots of challenges in life. Games are there for entertainment. If you want something difficult go out and invent something or study some advanced classes in school.

So only smart don't raid now. that makes sense. Only the people w/o brains do blizzards PvE content. The smart people like to do repetitive PvP that gets boring after 5 minutes.

Yeah pretty much.
I actually don't PvP much. I just like the PvE content of games that involves leveling up, doing quests, and exploring the world. That gets my thumbs up. PvP gets my thumbs down. Raiding gets two thumbs down.

Guess what...there are quest rewards I got at level 60 that were better than gear I got from Maraudon. Should I be pissed that the reward I got for a five minute quest was better than something it took me two hours and four other people to get? It's called progression.
Just admit that you're pissed that being in a raiding guild no longer automatically gives you PVP supremacy. Otherwise why do you care what gear other players have?

It's sort of like you spend hundreds of hours beating something that requires a lot of people & organization. Then an expansion comes out and you can go solo a quest in minutes for better gear.
The problem with the pvp system doesnt have to do with gear. It has to do with the fact that it's similar to diablo pvp.
As for maraudon, that's a newbie instance as well. Maybe if you had to get 40 of your guild to clear maraudon you should be pissed, but you don't (i dont think)
I'm just going to throw my comment in here, I loved the 40 man raids, but did not like the fact that I was one of the 15 or so people in the raid that actually gave a crap about progression (the rest were there for the ride). And guess what, when we wanted to do BWL every night and have 1 day (noon or 1pm sunday) for MC they were crying about it because they couldnt get T2 because all the vets (ironicly the 15 that cared) was the top 15 holders of DKP because we showed EVERY DAY.
I'm going back to WoW tommarow on my lv60 mage decked in full T2 + naxx gear and I know some kid is going to come along in full blues lv70 and kill me, because he has far more HP/MP, stats, and bonuses. I don't care, I loved the PvE part of WoW and that's why I'm going back. The PvP for me sucked back in my day, I don't know if it got better or not so I might try it here and there.
When WAR beta / retail comes around I wont be playing WoW any more heh, more of a time filler then anything (hell it's better then these asian grind games).
The question that comes to mind is why did you put all this time into raiding in the first place? Obviously the raiding is there for your enjoyment more then to get the best gear. If you don't enjoy it then don't do it. I tried raiding in both EQ and WoW. I didn't enjoy it in either so I didn't do it. The hard part was just getting the people together usually and handling disputes over who should get the items that drop. The actual killing the mobs wasn't to difficult. You just had to get everyone doing what they were sapposed to do. Basically it was just a large waste of time.

WoW PVE definitely lacks, since everything is instanced. It's as if there is no competition between guilds. Without competition, an MMORPG becomes very boring. Even in EQ I didnt mind raiding the same npc more than once, they had keyed zones like EP that were worth flagging people for. But, the raids were fun, because we had to prevent other teams from dropping trains on us while we raided. That was challenging. Imagine trying to raid MC and having another guild just attack your raid.. WoW would be so much more fun if that was allowed. But no, here you have an instance, all to yourself. Its very boring really.
Flyte, you probably played a blue server on EQ, which is why the PVE was so boring. Sullon Zek was where it was at. You have to fight the other 2 teams while trying to kill raid NPCs
I'm sure competition is nice for you. A person that practically lives in the game they play. Many people like to treat it as a game and just want so enjoyment for the short amount of time they are on. Having others harrasing you isn't a lot of fun generally.

Thats becuase palladins are a support/hybrid class! Support classes should NEVER be better than a main class at what a main class does. If pallies could tank even equally as well as warriors then why the hell would anyone play a warrior? If they could heal more than a priest, why teh hell would anyone play a priest?I agree not many people engage in the non-instanced pvp, but thats the communities fault because the content is there.

It's called progression.
If you want something difficult go out and invent something or study some advanced classes in school.
i like WoW, and im not hardcore.
i enjoy it. its the only good one out right now!

Because he wanted better gear to PVP with.
I'm sure competition is nice for you. A person that practically lives in the game they play. Many people like to treat it as a game and just want so enjoyment for the short amount of time they are on. Having others harrasing you isn't a lot of fun generally.
