I wonder if I am allowed to tell the readers that they have polished the game to new heights for open beta and have totally new chipsets and the game looks twice as good now as it did last week.
You guys are in for a very nice treat, this game is NOTHING like what you saw last year and at con's
thats as much as I can say without breaking NDA according to what my letter says.
I have a video on the ironbreaker when NDA drops for you guys.
Since order is the underdog Im going to be playing there and making videos of the classes that I am playing.

Psh, dont you know... the game is totally unfinished, unbalanced, and no fun at all.
Removing 4 classes and 4 cities removed everything good from the game, and its bound to fail.
Having the NDA lifted soooooo late means they must be hiding something, obviously.
And this is the only game in the world besides AoC that has ever had a lvl capped Open Beta.
/nod
Figured I would get all the stupid responses you are bound to get out of the way before someone who was serious could say them.
Ohh, almost forgot... This game is such a WoW clone, just look at the graphics, and the fact that you can attack monsters in WoW, and you can attack monsters in WAR. WoW invented attacking monsters in a game... Mythic is a bunch of copycats.
NO WAY! Beta will NOT be restricted to the first 20 levels. This game is so much further in advance than AoC was and will be that much better.

Is that saying the content is quick and when its done its done, no staying power?
Is the NDA dropped for just 1-20? or whole game?
2 week level capped beta is what FC had, expect they raised the level cap up like 10 days before launch.

Just curious.
If they drop the NDA...it'll be for everything.

wow you guys are soo funny. You know if I did a global search and replace for war with aoc this whole thread could have been right out of the AoC forums like 3 months ago... Setting the level cap at 20 IS a red flag. And if they hold the NDA till launch that IS another red flag. If you think otherwise you are a fanboi that is blind to reality. Personally I got little interest in war but I sure as hell would NEVER preorder any game that does this crap. Certainly not after my experiences with AoC. You know what they say, "Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me"
Reality testing is based on facts not belief. Just because something might be true doesn't make it true.
Well first, this isn't about testing. It's about having a reasonable expectation. Secondly, if you think testers don't learn from experince and have to relearn/observe/test everything from the ground up you're crazy.
You'll have to try another strwman argument.
Reality testing is about unrealistic expectations which are normally claimed to be "reasonable expectations".
You are like some fortune oriental proverb... I got no idea what you are saying... So I'll just say uhhu...
it's from psychology. When someone is comparing how AOC and WAR are relating as the OP suggests in the opening of the thread, the speculation falls into an area of thinking which could be delusional or magical thinking (btw. it could also be true). There is a process where FACTS are used to prove or disprove the assertion is factually true or an issue of the persons critical thinking process. This process is reality testing. It's a good thing.

They officially stated the level cap is level 20...thats the half way point in levels for WAR...and its also a good preview of every single major system in the game. Why people think they need it all is beyond me there's no way they'll reach or even get a chance to do it all within 1 week.

level cap in wow beta.
if any of you guys are over the age of 18 you should be ashamed. infact if war's community is going to be like this im sticking with eve.
That's so weak. If you noticed the annoncement also said "at this time." Wow staged their closed beta so they could test parts of the game, and yes that's what most MMO's do, but that's not what has happened with WAR. WAR has capped off their open beta. Seriously, delusional.
I see no problem with the level 20 cap for beta. I think people whould be concerned about how fast you get there and how much content will the game be offering. In AOC one of the gripes was that you level way too fast. You could blow through the content pretty quick and people would get bored too easily not to mention there was nothing really challenging.

People will complain no matter what happens though.
Levelling too fast? They will say "THIS SUCKS! LEVELLING IS TOO FAST NO CONTENT!"
Levelling too slow? They will say "THIS BLOWS! SPEED UP THE LEVELLING THIS IS RIDICULOUS!"
Levelling is perfectly balanced? They will say "PFFT THIS IS NOT AS GOOD AS THIS OTHER GAME I PLAYED!! THIS IS STUPID!!!"
To sum up. People act stupid on purpose on internet forums and will find anything to complain about whether or not the point is valid or even true, simply for the sake of complaining and raising people's anxiety levels up to match their own.
My advice, try the game for yourself, figure out if "you" think it's balanced, fair, fun and worth playing and leave the speculation for those with weak hearts who tend to seem to worry about things that may or may not come to pass like little old grandmas wringing their hands mumbling "oh woe is me oh WOE IS ME!!! WHY ME??? The sky is falling HELP!!!" all the damn day long.
