This new lfg design would have worked great in FFXI,that is what it is designed much better for,it does not fit or suit the design of WOW,but hey Blizzard are used to copying ideas not creating them.
Just like the security token they created ,it wsagain a solid addition to FFXI lol, especially since their whole design has been about security, you ask anyone, most complain it has too much security. This is again not a design suited for WOW lol, because it sets a double standard,Blizzard has from day 1 allowed RMT to literally flourish in the game,RMT activity is maybe the worst blemish on the game for security,so how can you create security tokens but allow  insecure RMT activity?
Blizzard is funny, they literally throw around ideas, but they really put no thought into the process,i think they just want to make it look like they are doing something lol.

Don't be ridiculous.  WoW was always meant to be a group game.  However, Blizzard made the good group content too inaccessible to the casual players and the solo content ended actually being fun.  Plus Blizzard has been screwing the pooch trying to put in a LFG system into the game with every other iteration actually making it more difficult for people to find the groups they wanted.  From day one Blizzard has been pushing grouping on their players but failing to actually make it attractive to their casual playerbase.  This new LFD system is a first step in fixing the mistakes they made in the past with giving the players a grouping tool that the players actually wanted to use.

There actually IS a raid tool that works the same way, they just put it in a stupid place.

Hit 'o' for socials, there's a raid tab in there, on it there's a button that opens the raid finder tool.  You can browse raids that have people looking to do them, and mark yourself as wanting to do one or more of them.

The bad thing is that the raid tool, the dungeon finder, and the battlegrounds are mutually exclusive.  It would be useful if you could be in any of those queues at once, since it often takes quite a while to get enough people for a raid.

I think you get it easily via /lfr

But then I think it is restricted to your server.  It is not yet x-server.

Any feature that let's me create my own montage while I wait for my group to form up gets a A+ in my book. Who wants to sit through 2 hours of chat spamming + travel times + endless false starts with players afking AKA (Aroo eFfin Kidding?). No thanks! I need a MONTAGE! Thanks Blizzard!

    Fastest ever. Blackout BG EU.
Of course you won't believe me, but I am in.
    Bye.

Offcourse I believe you. I know by experience that healers in max lvl heroics enter extremely fast.

But dps's take alot more time, and in lower levels theres no way to do anything.

Vindication battlegroup ofc. Probably yours has like 12 realms all very populated.

This is actually a very serious problem, but that has nothing to do with the new /LFG being faulty.

Its an issue of availability of tanks.  I have 6x80s that are geared to ICC raids, each with 2 spec, I can tell this personally.

Tanks you get a group within 30 sec, no matter when.  Even at 3am my time.

Healers it depends, when tanks are in short supply, I did wait up to 10 minutes once in a while

    DPS, good luck.

My trick is this.  I have more than 1 PC in my work, and at home.  When I want to play, I load up a PC, queue a DPS.  If it is not moving I queue up a healer or tank on another PC + another account, generally I can get to front of a queue for the dps after running a random dungeon with tank/heals.  During unlucky moments, if the DPS gets a slot during the tank/heal run, I have to skip the DPS and let him requeue.  With enuf alts to do tanks/heals, the dps alt can go as dps eventually.  Or simply, if I do random dungeon, I do tank / heal with all alts except hunter / mage.

Generally I feel bored before I finished all these 6.  Or move to other alts for alternate activities.  Or raid.  Or log.

LOL .. no travel to dungeon is a PRO, not a CON. Do we really need to travel to UK for the 1000th time .. i say NO.

Centralized quest hub is ALSO a PRO ... cut out the non-fun unimportant part of the game.

There is almost no CON to this system. I am very glad that blizzard put this in and everyone i know loves it.

No travel to dungeon is a pro if you enjoy cheap lobby games that aren't MMORPGs.

Why even have a World in World of Warcraft, when its all instanced shit?  They just bypass the World when its convenient anyway.

New WoW LFG system just makes their game more like Diablo 2 or Guildwars, where you play with people who aren't even sharing the same world.

Cheap trash company, too cheap to merge servers, they want people to play on dead ghost-town servers so they provide cross-server instancing.

Nari loves it, you hate it.  Period.

You do not need to nor can you justify trying to, use words like "cheap lobby games".  Its simply reflect on the lacking in communication and social skills on your part.

It is ironic that you, so pathetically lacking in social skills, is trying to preach to us about socialising in a game.  I for one will kick you from my group if you open your mouth like that.

Talking a lot, babbling endlessley is not socialising, most notably if you only let poison flow thru your mouth.  Take my advice, seal it.  At least it only stinks inside.

well im thinking of resubbing with this new lfg system sounds a great idea . they have at long last made an option to group fast ive never made it to a top lv yet think highest was lv55.

i like solo play but like group play has well solo to lv80 it would just bore me to tears.

    Yeah it is great ...

    1) it promotes group play

    2) it makes lower level dungeon viable

    3) it eliminates down-time (travel, spamming trade)

I just hope that they will extend the x-realm function to raids (which is more difficult because you can make multiple heals/tanks).

LOL .. who cares if a game is truly "MMORPG" by some weird definition. If it is more fun, it is a better game. Traveling is BORING after the 10th time.

And who cares if i play with people on the same or on a different server. People are people. I would rather play then spamming trade for 30 min for a group. If you like that, I have a NEW "game" for you. It is called IRC channel.

If your LFG in trade channel it would be a problem.

If all my guildies are occupied, where else could I find a group?

When I played WOW there was a LFG option. Perhaps its changed.

    Yes, it did.

Before the new dungeon finder tools, everyone uses the trade channel because the original LFG tool is not very good and no one uses the LFG channel.

    Yay and Nay.

Yay - I now can do older content and have fun doing it. I can meet more people and chat with them. I can level up without ever touching quests or grinding.

Nay - Being a healadin, I cannot roll on leather or cloth gear for healing, even though no one else needs it. Sometimes you get real meanie heads. After the implosion of LFG que that was patch day, it still takes about ten minutes to find a group for a dungeon, and simetimes, it still doesn't work out.

I'd give Blizzard a 8/10 for implementing this system.

    Playing - Champions Online
Unsure Of - Darkfall, Star Trek Online
Waiting For - Star Wars: The Old Republic, All Points Bulletin
Played - Age Of Conan, Everquest II, Mabinogi, Tabula Rasa, Star Wars Galaxies, World Of Warcraft
