You sir just dont want a challenge. Remember you started when everyone was new. Not when people had 200 or more hitpoints than you and had the advantage of exploiting mobs and mount farming 60k gold an hour. So you never experienced what its really like. One vet could take out 5 newer players without stress.
Sorry that the days of r90's hitting for full damage even if your 10ft away from it are over. Now you will have to actually aim.
By the way.....
Can I have your stuff
you dont get it. rank 90-100 are useless now and so are rank 50s. Now that you have to have a direct hit to get full damage out of them, nobody will use them b/c its much harder to land a rank 50 nuke than it is a ray or an arrow. this is what the newbs and bads don't understand.
all the good players are agreeing with me in-game. This thread is filled with the narrow minded perspective of noobs who don't understand the game and how it works. That much is obvious to anyone who plays DF and can think for themselves.
Time for this competitive gamer to start looking for another game.
Mortal Online will be turing the corner for stability and a look-see.
Oh dear God don't send him there, they actually have a working consequence system...
hehe...i know, and its great to see the effort by SV to create a competitive game with actual consequences for actions.
There was a thread earlier today.. Apparantly somebody decided to go gank some ppl, and ran into the consequence system head on..
I was on the fence with the open beta (lotta potential, lotta bugs, but we all know this).. but once I read those consequence system details, I was like.. "Bugs, I can live with"..

Ever heard of 40 people launching 1 r90 nuke,
even if its 8-12 damage, it hits multiple people, and r90 nukes and r50, are bigger than bolts, easier to get a direct hit, if you can aim, but you wouldnt know anything about that !
Time for this competitive gamer to start looking for another game.

Yeah try mortal online - as a competitive pvper you deserve some pain. I've played MMO's most nights for 10 years, mortal has destroyed my will to play any game, it makes conan feel like a treasured memory.

Yeah, dont send him there...
Just look at the other topic at the MO foruns.... the noob is crying because he ganked 5 noobs in a row and got red so he cant enter guarded towns anymore...
Is like "buahhh i wanna gank noobs and use the bank in guarded town.. im hardcore get rid of consequences, consequences are carebear".
What i always fail to understand is why these "im fucking hardcore pvp pownzor" dudes always cry when they have to be in competitive fights...
Like, in MO, you get red, you have to go to lawless towns.. and theres a lot of competitive pvp over there.. no guards... but no.. they just want easy stuff....kill noobs and safe guarded town at the same time =/
And darkfall.. as soon as it gets competitive, they start to cry... tahts not a real pvper.. real pvper wants a challenge
I remeber when i played darkfall, i was on "NEW" guild.. there was some vets that invaded our town, alone, with bone armor and raped 15+ noobs... thats not right in a pvp game...
A single vet should not be able to kill 15+ ppl even if thats their first day. thats just stupid
The OP has definitely rewritten the meaning of word: "hardcore" for me.
we need some more posts from ppl who were terrible at the game and quit or don't play I think.
Not enough outsiders looking in at something they can't comprehend.
Says a person whos only advantage over other players was ( in fact still is ) char progression and he is openly COMPLAINS about it.
Reasons why I don't play DF anymore are plenty and I haven't hidden with them. I am afraid tho that none of them were my impression that I am bad or good at the game.
I am not the only person who had the most fun in beta and at early launch until we realized that in order to have competitive pvp we have to grind. I suppose you call it skill and hardcore, I call it waste of my money. Good night to you.
So you invested time to have a clear advantage over newer players and now AV is cutting the time invested requirement and your upset that you will actually have a challenge fighting equally skilled up characters?
Are you a pvper? Last time I checked pvpers wanted an actual challenge when they played. What happened to Skill> Time invested?
What a lame QQ post, you make all of us pvpers look bad.
"WHaaaa... All these guys are as good as me, I dont wanna play anymore whaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!"

I would like more consequences for being RED in darkfall, mainly for NPC cities,
and give NPC cities, like trade houses/auction houses, and casino(lots of different games), a duel arena for each capital city, and other fluff/rp/sandbox content
And further make race wars, while not substracting from Alliance/clan wars, sandbox, suppose to be able to do it all, not just 1 or 1 focus.
LEts make this happen AV, once this patch gets the needed fixes, I might actually start telling my freinds who still play WOW, about this game(no I never was a wowkiddo ).
I've been playing for 1.2 years and AV has screwed me out of my time investment 4 times now. Some of us original Darkfall players have spent so much time developing our chars, only to have AV make a patch that makes it 10x easier or handing out advantages that took several months to attain.
AV has caved to the whiners and this means they will continue to cave.
Its like being in a yearlong weightlifting competition and training for 12 months and then they change the rules and start giving the new competitors steroids and attactching weights to those who actually put forth the effort.
someday you people may wish you could 2v1 for all the time you have invested into your character but you wil never be able to because everyone has 450 hp and you can't possibly go through all that HP before two guys go through yours.
soloing in Darkfall is dead, character progression as part of the competition is also dead and they are allowing the noobs and whiners to compete with the best and that is the reason that I don't play WoW.
Time for this competitive gamer to start looking for another game.
Thanks for the great times AV, its a shame you didn't learn the lesson that SWG had to learn about what happens when you cater to that vocal minority of whiners and bads.
"I'm glad that people are going to be more competitive a lot quicker, but honestly it kinda sucks that anybody that has put zero effort into their character can just naked rush you with 400 HP and a melee weapon. Fighting outnumbered is going to be a pain in the ass."
Quoted for truth from DF forums. GG AV. The winers will just move onto the next thing and you will continue to piss off your base.
Time for this competitive gamer to start looking for another game.

Yeah try mortal online - as a competitive pvper you deserve some pain. I've played MMO's most nights for 10 years, mortal has destroyed my will to play any game, it makes conan feel like a treasured memory.
I lol'd.
well when they start giving steroids to the crybabies b/c they don't want to do any heavy liften when the game has such a large untapped populaceae its a shame b/c the people who have been around since the beggining and worked to develop their characters so they wouldnt get owned everytime they saw two guys will probably be put off by this and may even quit.
the game was part of the competition and now its turning into CS with full loot and sieges. Not competitive enough for me when they have to increase character progression 4x b/c the masses can't deal with it. Devs got greedy, its really a shame for those who loved DF the way it was. It seems like they have given up on their vision and are now working towards mass appeal. GFG AV, GFG.
many of these children think that DF is a 1v1 game apparently. They cannot seem to comprehend that there needs to be a solo pvp playstyle that is able to beat 2v1 at least or competitive gamers will say fuck this and play CS b/c its not fun losing to idiots just b/c they outnumber you by 1, that is WoW.
And all shall fall by the grace of the people - anon

Dude, relying on a gear / stats advantage to beat other players is not "competitive". You got your definitions mixed up. Competitive would be, you know, winning because you are more skilled as a player.
need more posts from these outsiders who don't know WTH they are talking about.

The obvious thing was how overpowered rank 50,90,100's were. You played an overpowered class and now are terrified that you might actually have to aim at a target instead of the ground. How you didn't see this nerf coming is beyond me.
So the newbs and bads don't understand don't understand what exactly? That AV spoiled you by making everyone else have to aim properly and nuking mages such as yourself did not.
IMHO, competitive = someone who have the same gear and stats, and player skill is the determining factor of the winner.
With that said, this is not CS,
So vertical swings doing more damage, because they take more focus/aim, will be a good add, I will ask someone to suggest that on the DFO forums, and maybe even head shots counting as back shots.
I think people need to change their definition of 'hardcore'. When you start at the very beginning of the game and always are ahead of the 'curve', exploiting bugs to maximize your bank and skills so that when the next patch comes out making everything faster/easier you can exploit more bugs to maximize your bank and skills in a never ending process or 'hardcore'-ness.
There are two types of people here in this thread with heavy arguments. Izure, with his adamant need to make this game into call of duty 4, mmo-oblivion style. And Frumpy. Who wants to wtfpwn people by using the rpg elements in the game to maximize his character's effectiveness. Me? I just like to pvp. I hate fucking grinding. I don't have near a maxed character but neither do I purposely not grind for the sake of saying that this game's rpg elements are retarded. I hate to hear bitching that one set up or another set up is unbalanced in this CLASSLESS game. If something doesn't work? Don't fucking do it. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight and bitch that you can't compete. It doesn't take much to compete magic-wise in this game in most engagements. Maybe in 1 v 1 duels against someone with 100 more hp gain on you and hits their spells for 10 more damage more than you yea. But in open pvp, anything can happen, and not everyone has those advantages on you.
I like the change. And not just because I got a 50 hp bump on my health. You'll still beat people in 2v1's Frumpy because you're a good player. However, you're not going to 5v1 people like you used to because you have a maxed character. I think this change will make more people want to go out solo instead of rely on having multiple people to leave a city with. They'll feel more capable with their character and you'll get that 1v1 pvp in. I like 1v1 pvp too.
Whenever Frumpy dies in clan kills, you always hear over vent 'lol frumpy how many were there?'. And it's not just because of his character it's because he backs it up with good player skills to make a devastating combination.
Dude, relying on a gear / stats advantage to beat other players is not "competitive". You got your definitions mixed up. Competitive would be, you know, winning because you are more skilled as a player.
Oops...nope...competitive transcends just player skill. Meaning, for the correction, competitive shouldn't just be about player skill, or one element of game-play, but draw from every facet of game-play to contribute to an outcome; character attributes, charactyer skill, weapon, armor, situation, team vs solo, etc.
And if what the OP is saying is true, Darkfall is being WoW-afied through entitlements to newer players that feel that developing ones character with all the essentials and know-how through game-play is something that they should be rewarded with for solo, out-of-the-box one-on-one encounters for just signing up.
Dude, relying on a gear / stats advantage to beat other players is not "competitive". You got your definitions mixed up. Competitive would be, you know, winning because you are more skilled as a player.
First off your wrong it depends on the context of the competition and the rules of the agreed game.
Having said that what you are talking about is basically a fantasy based FPS server and we have had the conversation billions of times with the conclusion that its a great idea in general but not for this game.
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
You call yourself a competitive gamer and then you whine about the fact that newer players will be able to compete with you. Do you truly not see the irony in that?
Ka-POW! There it is, in a nutshell. OP dedicates bajillions of hours developing his character to pwn noobs; AV sees that players like him are the reason noobs are leaving, so they speed up advancement to increase competition.
To quote the truth from a poster of long ago, "people won't pay $15 a month to be your bitch.".
The days of MMO's where you can put insane hours into a character with a minifridge in arms reach and pooping into a bedpan exhausting unemployment so you can stay the King of the Hill are pretty much over. In that, the OP is right. And I say, good riddance to those days...

Hey turd, I almost got capped HP now and magic wont hit me from 50 ft doing 50 damage anymore.
LOL, gunna be funny you going back to archery,
Dont forget broskereshphers, you need to aim!
P.S. Mr lumps(AKA turd(his name from NA-1)
WIll not go to MO,
how I know?
No easy to aim nukes,
And a very easy grind( at least compared to DFO)
So if he can not get ahead by exploiting/macro'ing, im sure hes not interested
