Man still 0-0 its very tense but not i nice match to watch:(
Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009..... In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.
Another flop. Guy touches the other guys foot with his hand and BOOM!!!!!!!!! Down he goes. So far have to agree this has been the most boring match of the whole world cup and please stop flopping it looks lame!!!
In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect.

The championship game definitely soured me. Not only were there too many fake falls, but the guy who scored the winning goal, Iniesta, was the biggest offender of all. Before he even scored I was saying to myself "I can't stand that guy." It looked like he tried to weasal a free kick out of the ref every time he got the ball. Little punk.
As far as the game itself went, I think Spain outplayed them as they were able to attack the goal more often than Holland, but I also think that Spain benefited from more free kicks that they should not have received.
Unless officials do something to clean up the game and make players actually play the game rather than cry to the refs constantly, my interest is going to wane.
Either way, congratulations to our Spanish friends. I think the referee was horrible, but Spain played better than the Netherlands from the second half on.
That's exactly what I thought. Not on the pass that led to the goal, but on the pass that was just before the assist it looked like the guy was offside. But, it also may have just been from the angle of the camera that made it look that way. When they replayed it from a right angle, it did look close. May have been offside, may not have been.

The cameras show both passes were onside, the 2nd one obviously more than the first one but they were both still onside.
Van Bommel deserved a red for kicking Alonso in the chest.
Though overall it was a crap match, obvious dives from both sides, Netherlands tackling dirtily and both sides missing lots of opportunities that should have been goals. Spain deserved the win though, so grats to them.

And the corner right before the goal that wasn't given? I'm not sure about the offside, but I'm very sure about the corner.
And although I feel van Bommel should've gotten red, I feel the referee was trying to compensate for it afterwards. Horrible referee. And not just because I feel he was unfair to the Netherlands and couldn't see through Spain's dives and the corner that was not given, but also (and I do want to stress this) because van Bommel was not given red. That was one hell of an offense.
Well deserved victory. 1st star on their shirt as well, and most likely not the last one.
We hope so, we hope so ...
It was a very deserved victory, Spain was the only team that wanted to play football, Holland did very well playing Karate tho. or something like that... Spain won and the football won also last night.

I disagree that it was a very well deserved win (although Spain was better), and I feel that Spain was great at diving and acting. Spanish and English TV channels were very biased. So were Dutch, of course. But do you *really* and honestly think the Spanish were not playing a foul game sometimes?
Didn't I say earlier he should've gotten red for that one? He could've gotten killed. You can hardly accuse me of being biased. I'm part Dutch, part Spanish and mostly rooted for Spain the entire championship (except for, I admit, the finals). Neither of them deserved the win. And yes, Spanish players did dive a lot. So did the Dutch, but the Spanish outdid them.
Spain clearly did not deserve the cup. Neither did Holland. It was a horrible match from two teams who played beautifully on many occasions this WC.
A win is a win. But both teams were diving and acting way too much. It's such a poor display of a championship game. I expected much more back & forth, more skilled passing, more skilled players putting the ball in the net rather than messing up over and over. It was disappointing overall, frustrating to watch, and a poor display of soccer overall from player acting to bad refing. It's one of those games you don't really want to show the world as examples of why soccer is a great sport.
Hockey made changes to refing and goal reviews over the years, because they realized 1 ref wasn't going to be able to see everything. Soccer has a much bigger field, they need 2 refs out there, and a goal review system so teams won't keep getting screwed. Players also should get a yellow card everytime they fake a dive. The sport needs to get cleaned up in a major way.
Also anybody else feel it's dumb that it's a non-contact sport, yet players are able to shield another player from getting to the ball while watching the ball roll out of the bounds?
For your viewing pleasure, here is a video of some of the most blatantly obvious fake dives in soccer. Enjoy.
So hilarious. No wonder that "sport" will never be popular here. We tell our kids to get up, brush it off and keep going. The rest of the world says fall down and act hurt and maybe you can get a yellow card or red card.

Which is why American Football players are completely fully padded in kevlar and rest every 20 seconds like a bunch of nancies. I dislike our football with a violent passion compared to sports like martial arts and rugby, but it's still better than American Football.

Maybe so but still soccer way more popular and its global sport about 10 times bigger then ameriican football.

McDonald's sells a lot of hamburgers. So what's your point? We all know the fallacy of thought on more popular = better. You need to come up with a better argument.

Spain wins....congrats to the Spaniards.
Wasn't it offside a little before the goal?

So Paul the octopus got it right again.
We lost thanks to Howard Webb who clearly was instructed by the fifa to let Spain win.

Yeah diving and acting...
You have to admit your players dived and rolled along the floor a lot of times in that match - like they always do.
