My Core 2 Duo 3GHZ + 8800GTS video card + 4Gigs DDR2 can't run FFXIV.
This game had a lot of promise too bad they went overboard with the graphics and pushed the system specs beyond the reach of your average gamer.
I have seen people running the game with lower specs than your system. I suggest you get the latest drivers for your graphics card, you obviously don't have them. Before you come whining here make sure you have done all you can like updating drivers and such,.
THey are easily getting slammed hardcore with hits lol, im not to bummed, i have a copy reserved and ill easily get my free months worth minimum if not more. i can wait a few days or weeks to hop in. my main interest really is just gettin a first hand feel, and maybe reserving char names. but with hopefully plenty of server choices and the fact im still in 8days ahead of standard release im fairly confident i can get my name locked in place. heres hoping it goes up soon though,
im still way anxious to check it out haha

So many moaning about system specs, if you don't want to upgrade to get the games looking great, stick to your consoles with dummed down graphics. If you want to play games on a PC - you should upgrade a componant at least once a year to stay up to speed.
I think it wil be mainly console owners who complain the most.... but they don't mind splashing out £40 a time on a game!!

After trying to get in for a while and finally getting in I got this message:
"Applications for the FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test have been temporarily suspended. Please wait until we are ready to accept new applications and then try again."
Hopefully it's not one of those things where they close and then re-open just to let in another group and then close again
I feel like I'm playing FFXI again and camping a NM, only this time my refresh key has replaced my provoke or dia lol.

You have a system issue if you can't run with those specs, they are fine.
