It doesn't bother me that someone has gotten to 50 yet, what alarms me is they can do it while only leveling in the zone right after the starting area and never lose stride...talk about shallow content.

What? The highest level mobs in the first zone are 20, it would take FOREVER to hit 50 in the second zone.

But don't rifts scale based on those who either rip them open or are around when they open? So someone could level off rifts if they choose to do so. While queued up for PvP no less.

Currently, Rifts scale based on the amount of players present in the zone. If five people are fighting a Rift and another group of five comes in, the spawns won't change because of that.

They scale in strength, true, but they don't completely scale.

Each Rift has a level range. So from what I gather, it will scale depending on how many players are there but it won't shoot up to lvl 50 just because a group of lvl 50's are standing around.

IM sure it has already been said in this thread. But people now "want" to be the first person to max lvl. Or be the fastest person to get there.

THe journey to get there has been lost to alot of people who are not interested int story, lore or the trip. But simply want to get to the end as fast as possible.

There is not anything wrong with this as, that is how said person wants to play their game. But i feel that any new game that is going to be released there will be those that have the goal to get to the end as fast as they can.

You seem to forget that power levelers aren't like real people.  In fact, the majority of them have several people helping.  They all tag-team a character and play in shifts.  The character is playing for 100 hours straight, I can see how one account can manage a level 50 in less than a week.

Think of a normal person, playing 3 hours a day on average.  That's 21 hours per week.  So to obtain level 50 (assuming 100 hours is even close), they would have to play almost 5 weeks to get to max level.  This is assuming they are constantly engaged in an activity that provides them experience.  For some, it may take a couple months or so.  For others, maybe 3-4 weeks.  And for the hardcore few, less than a week.  What do you think those people are doing right now?  Tradeskills most likely.  There aren't really enough to do many warfronts.  Probably griefing the opposing factions.  Doubt they are doing any end game content, at least not any big raids.  They are mostly sitting on their butt in cities or maxing other characters out.

Why does anyone care anyways?  You'll get there.  They don't have any advantage that you can't catch up to eventually.  Enjoy the game, stop worrying about what everyone else is doing and start worrying more about whether or not you're having fun.  That's my suggestion.

I needed 122.5hours of pure (no afk) gameplay to reach the max level, through normal activites (no rift farming or other monotonous one type only activities). At this point I consider myself a veteran player and the fact that I was playing a healer gave me access to easier grouping, which probably helped my levelling speed.

I'd say an average person is looking at 140-150 hours to reach max level.

(I reached 42 in beta, but on the opposite faction)
