The sound effects such as talking to a quest giver to accept a task or right after a buff(That sudden hitting sound) and the tambourine sound is horrible. Look`s like I`ll have my sfx turned off.

The world, from those videos seems quite massive o.O

Or would that just be an illusion xD?

Oh my, lots of questions! I'll try to answer them all.

-"Are they thinking of some sort of manual attack option, here you have to click each time to swing. Is the combat at least a little bit more engaging then Eve's soul crushingly dull zerg-target paint fest? How does one use strategy in skill combos, don't you already just memorize the correct combos that are the best for a certain enemy? Or do you need to constantly need to change tactics based on what the enemy does such as countering attacks/buffs/defenses etc."

There is an auto attack ig. It kinda disables itself at times (not sure why, maybe due to lag), so it might need some fixing. And yes the combat is more engaging than EvE, I just compared it to EvE, because IMO it's similar in the way it requires strategical thinking, but it's not as slow paced as EvE. If you're basing this question on my videos, I think I should highlight that I was low lvl, and I had a healer build at that time. So obviously not the best build to fight mobs.

As for the combos, just memorizing them isn't enough, you have to adapt depending on the ennemy. From a PvP point of view, you also have to wait for the right opportunity to unleash a combo, because the "ennemy" won't let you just spam your skills, they'll try to CC you, and make their own combos too. There is many CCs and CCs resist tool ig.

-"How would you compare it to say, WoW's combat? How difficult is the game, b/c the vids make pve seem easy, does this change later? In PVE do you "move on" to different zones after out leveling it, or are the difficulty of monsters quests kind of spread out so that old areas are worth going back to? Do you think this game will quell some of the general forums crying for this type of MMO?"

Never played WoW, sorry. And of course it looks easy in the vids, have you seen my level? Like every MMO it gets harder over time with each lvl and new ennemies. As for the general forum crying, I don't understand your question.

-"how large is your "land" area around your house?the area thats actually associated with the plot of land your house is build on?

is it possible to build 2 houses side by side and have them so close together that they are up against each other? so that no one can travel between both houses?"

I hope these 2 screenshots answer your question.

    image

    image

-"is it possible to fill your land with trees? ever since I saw the first "house building" video I was thinking of using trees to build a maze around my house. would this be possible?"

Yes it is. Video I made during CBT3 :

-"is it possible to craft in your own house? do you need a crafting station type of thing? will crafting only be done in the main cities?"

Devs have said it would possible to buy a crafting table furniture for a house. It might be ingame already, i'm not sure, only seen aquariums, paintings and that kind of stuff so far.

-"is tehre a limit to how many houses you can have?"

I'm not sure about this one. I would say you can have severals. They are pretty expensive to make, I don't think many people will waste their time and money in xxx houses.

(On another note, how do you quote on these forums? Haven't found a way! Thankies~)

In regards to the "forum crying" I think they mean will this game satisfy the people that have been waiting for a quality sandbox mmorpg.

I absolutely love the minimalistic UI, thats the way it should be done.

Not many people notices this UI, for me that's good, it has it all and does not get in the way. Excellent stuff.

    Thanks for the video BlackHuru

And the Mods....? pathetic, instead of deleting a thread edit the tittle, jeez.

Here is a pic from the video, amazing....

It's all good...guess i should have worded the title differently. The mods do a good job for the most part, i wasn't trying to bait people with that thread but i can see how that might be the case.

Have a look at Amate's new astonishing video showing the beautiful sea of Archeage. Furthermore, a good watch is Steparu's (and youtube channel) new streamings and would really like to thanks Buggs (Betacake) for all the videos he -and his team- record. Keep up the good work guys!

Exclusive news guys! The first clan war happened in Archeage, 300 testers participated. The battle was between Renaissance(the famous guild, which managed to build their castle first of all) and Kosanakzhi. Here is a poor quality video, and here a bigger one showing some off-action too. The battle lasted about 3 hours.

Moreover the Kraken patch is released. See these 3 videos showing its unique power (the first , second , and the third one). Furthedrmore have a look at this video, which shows the beautiful home of Kraken. And why not, here is an exploring video captivating the stunning landscapes.

Edit: Found the video with the Kraken Fight, thanks to the Russian communi-ty. It's a 70 minutes long video, very worth seeing and the big battle starts around the 40th minute.

Another video from a Kraken fight.

Also I made an album with some very nice screenshots from CBT4, have fun.

Greetings everyone, making an update to show the latest PvP videos.

The first one showing a quite large PVP fight happening on an island. The player we are watching is Magic/Will/Conjury.

Another one, a very intresting one actually, the player is Combat/Fortification/Vocation(?). The same player recording another video of an island fight.

Customazation of the toons is really bad, but kind of expected that.  These videos really don't do justice for what I've seen fromt eh game so far.

I love all the complaints about "grind" because people who have only played themeparks have no clue how a sandbox works.

A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.

Okay, now you can go back to not giving us any worthwhile information.

I do love how mounts gain exp though.  This game just keeps getting more and more each time I look at it.  Can not wait for an NA release.

I've been participating in mass PvP for the last 2 days, and to be honest, it's on a very different level compared to other games.

You have cannons shooting at you from strategic spots, craftable gliders (freshly added) dropping mines from the sky, and mounted players using their dash to knock down everything on their path.

Now all this brings a new strategic meaning to mass PvP. A zerg of infantry can easily get destroyed by some well placed cannons, same goes for a well-timed cavalry charge.

All this has really gotten me excited about the future of mass PvP in ArcheAge. It's still beta so I expect them to add even more tools to give variety to large scale battles.

keep that info flowing. even the smallest detail that you or any of our AA testers can give is apperitated. this open pvp is just what i was missing. i hate these wf/bg types of pvp where the only thing you gain is some worthless faction and some shiny trinkets.

i use to play Ragnarok and loved how you got to fight over control of castles. teamed up with other guild to eather help capture or defend. got the use of the area dungeon for exp and looting. you fought for something. granted it was only for like 2 or 3 hours and it was twice a week but the whole sever got involved. from buying the services of smaller guilds to help atk/def or merchs that just wanted to profit from the wars.

this game seems to be shaping up to be something special.

Greetings everyone, once again I have some very interesting and exclusive news from CBT4. At the 35th day of the CBT, testers managed to kill the Kraken! Roughly 100 people participated in the fight which lasted about 1 hour. Here is a video showing a part of the fight! Have fun!

Concerning the loot-drops.. I am not sure but from the google translator I can understand that it dropped some kind of Glider(the item that lets you "fly") and some blue items.

Because they only know how to play Massively Instanced Online Non-Roleplaying Games (WoW, SWTOR, AOC etc) where the developers dictate their every move, overtuning content so that it last longer, weekly lockouts, RNG loot tables and restricted areas for PvP.

ArcheAge looks like it will have meaningful and given gameplay, a world where the developer delivers a wide variety of polished tools that the players have the freedom to decide what to do with.

I played SWTOR excessively, got full T2 and realised that I won't be wasting time on another 1:1 copy of WoW, that I can't, it will spoil the MMO experience even further.
