Well well well! Bravo Anet! I bow before your ideas and execution!

Hype or not, beta will be as impressive as once Wow beta was.

Best 50€ you can spend in your gaming life.. Well maybe Fallout 2 is on par.

Spent 2 years trying not to get hyped for GW2, but this seals the deal. Bricks, they have been shat.

The fact is, WvW in GW2 is effectively like getting an entire second game with the purchase of the PvE content. You can level up completely, gear up completely and basically never leave WvW if you wish. The maps ae humongous, there's PvE elements, dynamic events, etc. occuring around you, keeps, weapons to build, structures to fortify,... this is a thread for the fans. Go back to Ilium or wherever and hush.

Finally a game that is going to worth a subscription.......OH WAIT

honestly, I would be happy for just a PvE oriented game with the box price......

BUT BRING ON THE WvWvW, with those objectives in the 4 maps, it seems like PvEer can play with PvP players at the same time......WvWvW isn't going to be just for PvPer afterall!!!!

How much WoW could a WoWhater hate, if a WoWhater could hate WoW?
As much WoW as a WoWhater would, if a WoWhater could hate WoW.

What's not innovative about the system taken as a whole? ANet fully explains that they took the best they saw from other games, even mentioning DAOC for WvW, and combined those elements into one, getting rid of the crap that sucks the fun out of games. When you combine the DAoC elements, the GW2 combat, the supply system, etc. I'm having a hard time seeing where there's a lack of innovation as a whole.

Found this to be of interest

Looks like caravans are easy prey for small bands if this is an NPC escort.

So is this an NPC escort or a player?

Edit- didnt see they had em on the front page.

Honestly, I write here a lot about DAOC and the glory days of RvR combat.

Guild Wars 2 is taking World vs World PvP VERY SERIOUSLY!

I am so excited about this aspect of the game. MMOs have needed a system like this for a long time. Sadly WoW turned the industry away from it for so long.

I cannot wait to play this part of Guild Wars 2!!

the WvW PvP was always going to be the games big selling point, i just wish though that this game was P2P and they ditched the cash shop completely, as i'd be more than happy to pay a sub to play this game, but the recent cash shop changes are a complete deal breaker.. :(

Stop Rizel^ he has every right to complain because someone will level up in high heel shoes and a white wedding dress they got at the cash shop.

It could be envy? Is that a debuff?

There are no actual cash shop changes. You will not, now or ever, be able to purchase anything from the cash shop that will give you an advantage over people who don't. Even something as silly as experience boosts... the levelling curve is flat in GW2 (takes the same time to level 79 to 80 as 29 to 30 for example), so anyone purchasing those will simply be giggled at, especially when you remember the game will boost your effective level up or down depending where you are.

So tell us, which misconception is it that's the "deal breaker"?

You think people who complain about cash shops really care if it has fluff items or not? they just despise cash shops no matter what they are selling in it.

He's mentioning non-existent cash shop changes though. It wouldn't be right to scare other people off GW2 due to an unfounded myth.

Maybe they need to try BSG online or STO for a day or two and see what a real cash shop scam looks like. Someone buying a pink Tutu isn't going to make my game any worse. Or they could just spend $15 a month themselves at the shop if it makes them feel comfortable paying a sub fee.

People just have this 'entitlement' complex and want as much as they can for free. So like i said fluff or not, a lot of people just don't want to spend that extra cash for that 'pink tutut' even though they don't need it but want it anyways.

I think you are on to something, I think he may "secretly" want those high heels, but is afraid every time he passes the cahs shop, he will be compelled to wear them publicly.

It's just the fact if I'm correct he was never into the game in the first place and tryna make something out of some silly ass word changes and ish.

Even a realist would have enough common sense to take note on their intentions.

Assuming they don't screw it up by making seperate pvp gear then yes, if they do its just another wow or swtor. IMO everyone should have to raid for their gear whether its for pve or pvp. It worked fine in dark age of camelot, and it actually got alot of pve only people to try pvp, where as wow/swtors take on it with special pvp gear tended to make them stay away from it.

Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:

    A. Proven right (if something bad happens)

    or

    B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)

Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime!

I thought Mists were PVP exclusive, then why are there NPC? And convince me why it will not be similar to SWTOR's Ilum played out. What I mean is mad lag and republic just sitting in their base and nip-picking one-at-a-time.

So when the game launches, and you are putting your guilds flag on the top of a tower you just spent 3 hours assaulting in an epic fight, put on that pink Tutu and high heels from the cash shop, Emote into a dance, take a screenshot, come back on here and post it as Phyrs Cash Shop Epic Win!

I'm not a MMO pvper, but this sounds intriguing.

If you don't worry about it, it's not a problem.
