However numbers dont lie. This game has 1.7million subscribers. That makes it at worst, the 3rd most popular MMO (After WoW and Eve). Thats a massive success no matter which way you look at it. The haters on this site are by no means a fair representation of the MMO playing community as a whole.
Anyone that says the 1.7million number is innaccurate doesnt understand coporate liability - If they lie about the subscriber numbers to the shareholders they are commiting a criminal offense. I seriously doubt they are doing that.

i take that 1.7 million with a pinch of salt. thats only figures up to the end of january, and the game was going fairly strong up til then. around mid feb time, the number of players declined heavily based on my server.

i would like to see their figures for the end of march, i'm willing to bet that its a much lower figure then 1.7million.

and have to comment on this one aswell yes, aoc failed after players finished tortage wich was on of the best starting zones in history after that everything wasnt just half ready so this made it flop, they pulled it out better after for awhile but its always too late.

agree with this point SWTOR definitely has the foundations to be a great game.
It is, however, not a great game now, and its up to Bioware to improve it.
That doesnt mean people dont still find it enjoyable. if you do then fair play to you.

Besides, something thats fast becoming common knowledge is hardly the 'inside scoop' now is it, the only way for Bioware/EA to turn things around is to listen to what the players are saying and fix those issues, ignoring them really isnt going to make them go away, unlike their playerbase.

LMAO you must've missed a bunch of the headlines the last couple of years. Best you get off your MMO and out of the basement and catch up.
Ok so after reviewing you list of 50 I give you 13 correct, 20 opinions, 3 being fixed in 1.2, 12 that are seen by you and not me, most of those have been identified and patched out in the past (might want to update your info a little, those talking points have already gone away), and finally 2 which are most likely caused by your PC (dont care how uber it is or how new, if your not configured right it will suck, update your drivers, update your hardware, clean off the porn and keyloggers - it really does help to do regular cleanup and maintenance on your PC).
Only here has it become acceptable to accept the mediocre...
Anything else youpay for, you would not accept it having things wrong with it, unless you like fixing them, or can fix and turn a profit on.
This is mainly the consumer's fault though, we have come to accept that things can be released half-assed and patched later. Sure things are being fixed, but they should not have to be, they should of been working to start with....

EA made a convoluted statement that started with the 1.7m figure, it did not say 1.7m it referred to the previous comment based on the end of Jan Figure. This was also not an announcement to shareholders nor analysts and so not covered by the legality and accuracy, companies deceive and put a positive spin on things all the time, what they do not do is do that in reports to investors and shareholders. Their end of year is up in a week or two, they will need to make an accurate statement at this point, this is why all these trials are happening, to try and convert some of the trials into purchases before year end to boost the numbers. We know the numbers are dropping but to what mains to be seen

Is someone like Bioware likely to lie for the sake of it, I do not htink so, but when you talk big bucks (you work on Wall Street, you see the money go by) people will do crazy/stupid things.
Wouldn't it be nice if companies had the guts to simply say how many players are currently logged into their servers? Apart from EVE I don't think any major MMO openly shows their users how many players are on and I'm not talking about "light, medium, full".
Being honest isn't hard for companies to do.... They simply rather lie to your face.
IIlum is so terrible even Bioware are removing it.
Lvl 50 PvP is pointless
LvL 50 Pvp is impossible for a newly reached level 50 player.
None existant customer service
poor maintainence times
numerous friends list bugs
dead planets in reference to people
dead planets in reference to NPC's not ever moving.
No LFG feature
90% of pvp matches will be huttball
horrible UI
pointless professions
bugged professions
bugged class quests
jawa balloon quest is ridiuclous and bugged
unabandonable quests
9+ Players in one WZ team bug
broken economy on servers due to poor price points of purchaesable items
rampant botting
Loot system is locked in, if someone rolls ur class ur screwed
poor textures that we didn't have in beta, they were dumbed down at release because of the game engine.
WZ's dont always count for daily quest STILL
getting stuck in invisible zones in WZs
lack of space content (really? samer thing over and over again?)
a reverse engineering bug that they ignore
trinkets that dont release you from the animation
lack of endgame content
pointless lvl 50 pvp gear
pointless craftables at level 50
Companion bug where everything stops when they return
LAME character creation
Overload of constant "Side Quests" (which are also unabandonable.)
Ships are stale and pointless
excessive loading times
Almost no immersion in the game.
Can't even use chairs
Linear worlds, you are funneled to every segment of all planets
Even open planets are small due to the "exhaustion zones"
Games Laucher causes people problems just about every patch
Does not support CrossFireX or SLI in 2011! WTH!
Virtually no support for ATI GPU's
Forced to watch every cutscene even if you've seen it 100 times if you group. Spacebar to skip is STILL slow as hell.
Despite what all the fanboi's are saying the people are leaving the game. 1.7Mil in january and 1.7 mil in March says Bioware are only sustaining as best, but NOT growing.
I agree with most of your points 100% but:
42. How can you possibly say there is no immersion, there is not a MMO leveling experience out there that immerses you more into your character, that's something they did amazingly well.
49. You say the spacebar skip is "slow" but it has nothing to do with it being a slow response time. It's because other players are watching the scene. If all party members in a group quest spacebar immediately you will not see anything.
That being said 48 out of 50 is still an A.
I was a huge supporter during the hype and during the leveling process but the main issue for me is that SWTOR should not be considered an MMO. It's an amazing albeit buggy single player/ co-op RPG with a chatbox. Once you're 50 you either roll an alt or go play something else.

Actually, nobody here has put together a list of the good things in this game for me to go thru. Mostly because this forum would cut it to shreds and make shit up left and right to justify thier 'opinions'. Just look at this thread here. How many people stil post how they just KNOW companies outrigth lie to thier shareholders on a regular basis. No proof at all, nothing, just some headline they read on some blog from some dude who lives in his mothers basement and hates chocolate chip cookies so he is taking it out on the world! Really, even fighting this point, after people have proven them wrong time and time again with actual LAWS that make it false what they are saying. Yet they still continue....
Now to your comment, I do not accept mediocre when it comes to this game, I play this game, and i have fun doing so. You may FEEL you find it below standards, that is entirely your right. I play games to relax after work, to enjoy the play time. I am not in it to prove myself to anyone, to gloat about my epeen size, I dont lok for the carrot on the stick, or the end game hook that will let the world know how great I am at some computer game. To me, I buy a game to play the game as a form of entertainment. I dont expect a computer game of any kind to make up for my shortfalls in reality like some do. THose people fnid MOST games mediocre. Not because they are that, but because no game can ever really make them become somethign they are not, and they get mad at the game because its not GOOD enough to do what THEY want.
I budget my money, $100 a month is my gaming budget. Thats it, I could go more if I felt like it, or less. If I want to spend more than that I save for it. Its an entertainment expense. I get my money's worth from my games I play and SWTOR has been worth every penny I have paid into it so far. 75% of all these broken things or missing things you people on here bitch about daily do not effect me at all. I do not need a LFG tool to be able to find a team to do what I want in a game. I dont need the VO to be sped up because I have no patience. My PC does not flake out when I enter PvP, it doesn't lag out when I get in a group of 10 peopel fighting, I dont have 10 min load screens.
What you call mediocre I call just fine. Attitude has a lot to do with it, really it does. And just to clarify you comment further, I stated what was already fixed and a couple of things which are to be INCLUDED in update 1.2. The person whos comment I was referring to was attempting to imply that those things still existed, which factually they do not. I was simply correcting his false information.
(DISCLAIMER - The use of the word YOU in the above post is not directed at any one person in particular, but towards those who fall into the category itself - there is no personal attack here, neither intentional nor implied.)
