    That is entirely opinion based.

If I want to go your route... TERA has the best combat of any game.

For all you B2P fanbois out there, remember that TERA is implementing Chronoscrolls which are $15 and equate to 30 days of game time.  These scrolls are tradable IN GAME.  Don't wanna sub, then get in game gold and never use RL currency...

I don't blame those that only take a few hours to play and say it's nothing special, they're only reporting on what they know or cared to notice. I would ask this: Take the best MMO you've ever played, tell someone who has never played it before and tell me they'll understand what makes it great in 4, 6 or even a whole weekend.

Open world is a feature after all Diablo, Vindictus, C9 and a lot of other games don't have it.

Combat "has been done better" is an opinion, one that you don't even back up with names of other games or any actual facts or data as to where you came to that conclusion.

Aion had the "same" group content?   What does that even mean?

For one this game's grouping is VERY different from any game I've played, and for two why is it more like Aion's grouping than any other?

I had to aim to heal people in this game, and actually pay attention to the giant MONSTER not just HP bars as a healer, VERY exciting game to play as a healer.... very refreshing difference.   I'm tired of staring at HP bars.

I was all up for tera even played on the Korean servers but at the end of the day its just another cookie cutter MMO with a better combat system..

If you like themepark games and if you want somthing a big different with a better combat system then yeah give tera a shot..

There is no way the thing that is being listed could have more pro's than cons?

How exactly do you "weigh" pros and cons then?   Or are all lists bias?

If you seriously think that those are the only cons of the game then yes I consider it bias. It's not about the amount of cons to pros, it's skipping over obvious flaws in the game cause they don't bother you as much as it might bother someone else.

Well its hard to give a complete list because everyoen view things differently, what you think of con might be pro and pro might be con. There will never be a universial list for these kind of things.

Yet you don't provide any details or information, you off handedly dismiss anyones claims and say they are outright bias or lies.  This just further discounts your opinion as you still cannot provide ANY details on why you don't like it or what FEATURES  you detest.

It just as bad as saying it SUUUUCK's it does not mater how many "U's you add in, this tells us, and the OP literally NOTHING about the game, why you don't like it, or why we should consider anything you have to say to be taken seriously.

A Characteristic of this game is that it has an open world.

Other games, like C9 and Diablo 3, Don't.

This is why its a feature.

I'm sorry if you can't understand that.

Edit: Again you provide no info, and resort to name calling, further devaluing your opinion.

Sector is an oddly cynical fellow who also has a hard time accepting that people might like something he does not. He gets a majority of his posts in this board trying to convince people who like the game it is not as good as they think.

I find him very odd, try to take his posts with a grain of salt.

Thats been my problem in the past..coming from wow (old school 2004-7 was far superior..h8 wotlk/cata).

I lasted 7 yrs on and off in wow so its harder for me to get into a new mmo.

WOW is polished as a piece of mmo software so rift and age of conan never stood a chance.

If my first mmo was lets say ultima online it would be easier to think SWTOR was brilliant.

Im not die hard wow by any means but expect a playable intersting product to subscribe too.

The only other games i was hooked between 2005 and now were company of heroes and world of tanks.

I need a new MMO to make life more interesting and i wont being going back to the wow pandas thats for sure.

The curse of wow will live with me forever, comparing every game to it. Blizzard must have put subliminal messages in it telling me to h8 all other mmos.

Sector, I'm not going to argue the details of why TERA combat is better, whether an open world is a "feature" or whether Aion has overland group content (which it does and is awesome).

I wanted to thank you for pointing out why I want to play TERA:

The features are all in one game.

Just not worth my time anymore.

I played wow on and off for 7 yrs but its boring now and holds no interest.

I tried rift, age of conan, warhammer, SWTOR which all failed to inspire me.

TERA looks promising but so did SWTOR.

The open world is a big draw for me and the pvp. The lush visuals and new combat system too.

Is the game polished like wow?

Please no wow h8ers frothing at the mouth. WOW is but boring for me now but it was very well made and playable.

Bring on the negative tera boys please...i want to hear the other side of the coin.

Just wait for Guild wars 2 to come out this year. :)

Its not a WoW thing, i think its just human nature to adept. After playing a single mmorpg for so long your used to it, you adepted to what the game is and once your used to something everything else seem different and werid and possibly bad. Same with me, i play a f2p korean grind fest that was completely unbalanced and horrible cashshop. but the game was fun when it started in beta and i gotten used to, than every other game look horrible because i was so used to that game. Any attempt to quit always resulted in me coming back. What finally made me quit was well getting hacked really lol i would have probably went back on it to wait for Tera if i didn't get hacked last oct. But i'm glad, yes it was like hundreds of dollar worth if equips that vanished but honestly to get me off that game was worth it.

Human nature goes we don't like change, which is why we stick to what we know no matter how shitty it is, case and point Bush. So not just a WoW thing its most things in general. Usually takes something big to finally make you let go of it or extremely long time of slowly letting go.

Airborne if the ! & ? quest system doesn't bother, there is a main questline as well, and you like or can tolerate the art style I don't see any reason you wouldn't like TERA.

Going away from tab targeting is huge but keep in mind the first 10 or 12 levels are getting you used to it and you won't have a ton of skills.

If you start now you'll have a combined 10 days to test the game before it gets to the head start weekend. Hopefully that will be enough to know if you think it's great or sucks.

Just not worth my time anymore.

They have a race for everyone, I don't really like Elin, but man if a few of my friends don't really wanna roll a fox girl at launch.  I like how their humans look rugged, and their Elves look kinda anime ish, the Dragon people really fit the folks who wanna look "tough"

I think that it will be a good feature in the long run, and that a lot of people are freaking out over nothing.  So what if there is a little kid race?   FFXI had Taru, and they ALL looked like children.

Hey my room mates girlfriend has a tinkerbell tattoo, guess Tinkerbell is creepy and werid too right?

    No?

    She makes sense?

    Why dont' Elin?

    Reasons are:

    1. felt like I was playing a saturday morning cartoon

    2. too cutsey for its own good

    3. chainmail bikinis and popori

    4. linear quest system, I'll never play another WoW clone again

    5. self rooting on character ability use

    6. did not like the fact that I was constantly clicking my mouse button, carpal tunnel syndrome inducing

    7. bumble bees, unicorns and reindeer as onsters to kill........lol no thanks

    5. errr because almost every other action combat game, the best of them dark soul, demon soul, monster hunter, god eater burst all have root animation and they are consider the best and most challenging of action combat games.

    6. playing game period give you carpal tunnel syndrome. hold on using the fcking computer for long period give you carpal tunnel syndrome.....

Lol zylaxx, like i`ve said before...

it`s not that cutesy, it`s actually quite dark and horrible as soon as you get to higher levels. Many zones are dark and sinister while all the endgame zones are sci-fi and robotic whilst being dark and evil, the game has every type of zone I can think of, which I find admirable.

Slow down there, I don't think Tinkerbell is creepy and weird. You're making assumptions based off one comment by me and your assumptions are wrong

I can't stand the Elin because of what I consider to be the ridiculous anime trend of slapping cat/bunny ears and tail on cutesy baby doll female characters. It has nothing to do with the size of the chracters. There are small races I like or don't mind and there are small races I can't stand but it's not because of the size or age.

I like the Popori race, really liked the Aman race. I don't mind the Asura race in GW2, can't stand the Lallafell race in FFXIV. I like the Hobbits.

Even if the Elin looked like mature adults or even old people with the cat/bunny ears/tail I would think they look stupid.

I think Tinerkbell would look werid and creepy if you stuck cat/bunny ears/tail on her as well. But Tink is fine like she is.

The main question is when has cutesy been a bad thing? Why is it negative? Why is been over dark not a negative or cartoonish a negative but cutesy is? Are peopel that insecsure that if there is more than 1 primary color on screen at a time playing it would risk their masculinity?

O and if Tera was made by a Japanese company i would defend its art style with " Japan. If your can image it we can imaging it been fcked by an octpus." (from gameover thinker)
