People around here are being butts. Stop being butts. You are getting distressed and insulting others over which video game you like most.
"There is no WAY people like that game! I haven't played it but my game is SUH WEEEEEEET!"
"UGH that game is the worst I played it at launch and there were BUGS!"
"I am voting against that game because it ranked higher than my game >: ("
STOP BEING BUTTS.
"You could call it a psychotic experience, but she was very happy about it," van Os said. "There isn't always a need for care when there's an instance of psychosis."
I was a huge fan of LOTRO, but the last time I played it was pretty much empty. I got like 15 levels without seeing a single other player in the game. I suspect that it was an issue with my server(landroval) more than anything else. However, since the cost to change servers is so massive that I just stopped playing again.
ESO gets my vote, but I still have a lot of respect for LOTRO. I played it for a long time.
Look, honestly most people on here are like me, they register, create an account, new or another, and vote for the game they want to win.
What I did differently was make other new accounts (like others have as well). Most of the people in my guild did as well. We all voted for ESO. Most of them created accounts and have never posted on here. A few have. With our numbers, I guarantee we are making a difference.
I'd bet most don't really care who wins...
Quick question though, if that is indeed what you're doing.. Under what motivation? For ESO to win or screw the poll? IF it's for ESO to win why come and announce it? Doesn't make sense, if the motivation is for your game to win, you've given ample reason for a do over... Again doesn't make sense. Unless of course like I said you're trolling the poll.
There's also a third option you're not really an ESO fan at all and are instead concerned about it being ahead. Either way none of it makes sense.
Pretty sure it's a combination of the two. He's looking to discredit the game by making it look like it couldn't win without cheating. It would be interesting to see where his vote actually lay. :P
I was also under the impression this site cracked down pretty hard on multi-accounters, yet he's still posting. Either way, I'm pretty sure he's violating the terms of the site.
I am also curious about this. Unfortunately some folks here, obviously for political reasons, auto-assumed he was telling truth and started quoting him endlessly.
Even if I did not play ESO - and I do. I would still vote for it. The reason is the never ending sea of hate especially from Wildstar fans during launch and after. ESO winning could make a few rage or even cry. Assuming there is many more Wildstar fans left here?
Seriously though Zen has really listened to the community and made a turn around like few others. Only A realm reborn stands out as a bigger turn around in my eyes. They deserve the vote for that reason.
Now Lord of The Rings Online was a fantastic game, with a current fantastic community. Two-three years ago it wins hands down. Maybe was the best MMO is history during Moria expansion. But in it's current state? The glory days are over it feels all but abandoned. I mean Turbine still has not fixed server lag problems or even offered a merge to help smaller realms out. You play on Brandywine or Brandywine. Not to mention the new class is broke.
This has been a lot of fun watching the seething vitriol over ESO potentially winning this whole thing.
I used to be a big time ESO hater too, check mah post history.
But now I gave the game a chance and it's one of the best MMOs I've played since SWG.
Just so funny seeing all the people who never even played ESO flip their shit that it might beat their own precious game to the finish line.
ESO definitely deserves the Black Sheep award for this year. So few even gave it a chance and yet ArcheAge and Wildstar both tanked miserably and ESO is rolling along with no problem. So funny how things sometimes turn out.
It's more about old vs. new at this point. They are both good games, but eso has more shiny on it. lotro is broken in and comfortable like fuzzy slippers and an old flannel shirt.

Majgic8ball's first post in which he claimed that he and his guild had created multiple accounts on MMORPG to vote for ESO was made on the forums for the semi-finals after the voting closed and ESO had won. I copied that post and pasted into a PM which I sent to Bill Murphy, Managing Editor for MMORPG.com, and whose name and image are in the introductory post on this thread. His reply was that MMORPG.com does not check IP addresses or verify accounts and is not set up to. His attitude was that everybody had the option to create as many accounts as they wanted so that made it fair.
Majgic8 might be trolling but he started it after ESO had already won the semi-finals and before the finals even started.

Ah, I guess it's not feasible for them to check that or something.
On a sidenote: ESO's population is really taking this competition serious. Currently there's messages on the zone chats in game urging players to come vote for the game on this site. By players mind you, not Devs/GMs, but still...! xD
My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)
The is nothing wrong with letting the community know about this competition xD and if people find this website because of it mmorpg gets more famous!
they even want you to tell everyone: Voting will be open until late Friday, January 2nd, so get your friends to the polls, arm your communities, your guilds, and spread the word. This is the final round of the battle.
there is a decent number who voted for lotro out of spite for ESO.
im not seeing much voting for ESO just to spite Lotor.
That has likely played a part in Lotro's past victories as well, against WoW and the like. MMO loyalty is based more on hatred towards other games than love towards the own one. Even though few have ever tried Lotro and fewer still know what state it currently is in, it has been able to coast it's way to the finals on a wave of harmlessness.
I thought the contest was not for beta or incomplete games.
I voted LoTRO of course. It is not in its best shape but is far better than ESO.
Wut? The very nature of MMOs means none of them are ever "complete" or "finished" until the servers shut down
Your statement may be one of the most ignorant I've ever read. Thanks to you my IQ has dropped.
The old trick to justify incompetence and lack of design.
When still there are speculations about ESO budget's size, the fact is, a called AAA mmorpg that was meant to be the game of the decade (unless you don't know what TESO franchise means), launched without BASIC mmorpg features like anti-bot, online GM's, housing and an assisted auction system, just to name a few; not even talking about other things that can be fixed but lazy designed, it seems with a cash shop in mind: inventory, mounts, pets, cosmetics, and RP tools.
Perhaps you need to check yourself before talking about ignorance.
LOTRO is fighting back.... as it should, almost even now in the battle.. one more day to go.... GOGOGO Ringbearers..
For me it has become clear... obviously my 2 favourite games in the final, yet one gave me over 7 years of fun, while the other only shows 7 months or so and is still growing into its own....
The future is for ESO, however in the past, there was one to rule them all
GOGOGO LOTRO GOGOGO

Sadly what is the result of you doing what you did is that we get a skewed result in which votes for one game is inflated by the same person voting as if they were several persons.
The sad thing is that I don't think multi voting was nescessary for "your" game to "win". ESO is a great game and I am certain that if each person voted once that would have been more than enough to rise to the top. Seeing as you and your "entire guild" admittedly have skewed the votes we'll never know. And your "win" will forever be tainted in the perception of readers of this forum due to your actions.
Or it would be if we weren't all convinced that you are full of shit.
All joking aside I don't belive a word you are writing. And I'm quite convinced that what you are trying to do is cast the ESO community in the "villain role" as petty douchebags that would stoop so low as to create fictional accounts in order to win an online popularity contest.
I call shenanigans on your statements, sir.
ESO is a very popular, well made game from a well known franchise and there is no way in hell they'd need multiple fictional accounts in order to win the previous rounds. (When not pitted against TSW I have voted for ESO for example.)
Wether you did create multiple accounts or not is insignificant. What is significant is your repeated claims of "misconduct" and I am sure that many like me are seeing through that.
I'd give you a "well played" but alas your feeble trolling is anything but.
Bad show, sir. Bad show.

Lol what's it like to be so miserable? Eso is fun, gorgeous and is improving in leaps and bounds to ths point where it is the leader in the market IMO. Above bs had nothing to do with this thread, pick between the 2 best titles eso or Lotr.

I play LOTRO but i voted ESO because LOTRO in its actual state winning would be a joke (no new instances for 2 years, endgame is basically collecting cosmetic pets, and all new areas are copy and paste of previous regions).
