Ok, this is getting silly. I have yet have been at a workplace where everyone loved the place, of course people have different views on where they work.
I have yet to see poeple who where not pissed if they where fired.
I also have yet to know a company with more than a few 50 empleyees where they man on the floor really know what the real financial situation of the company was.
So while people are discussing the qualities of the workplace, an who is and isn't lying they real question is being conviniently burried: Are they running out of money?
In this case my motivation is to let 'mr. have fun!!!!!' know (again) that many know hes not some mere 'fan' posting about a game he likes but rather is making some serious shillings doing what hes been doing.

Better get bag of those marshmallows... I'll bring the chocolate and tell Chris to stop being a cheapo ass and at least bring the graham crackers.
We'll have a hell of a party. A meltdown party!!!!!

Why dont you just tell the man that you are just a SC fan and have no connection to the game beyond that and close that silly back and fotrh you guys have going. Its getting old...
hmm do feel people are getting a bit too hyped off this. Not that I have much say as I haven't been following the game much, Chris could be the super killer scammer or just doing things very oddly.
Reason I feel people are getting a bit crazy over this Is, why is this not as wide spread? why is this being covered by one site and has such a small slot? I would have thought if this was the biggest scam this shit would be on every MMO/game/business site.
The second and funny thing is, whenever someone posts info from a site that praises a game or talks negatively and is said by a well known person or site, its called unreliable or the guy/girl is a hack, but a site that I have never seen once been talked about on here, their words are taken as gospel and has people jumping up an down shouting lawsuit.

Eh, thats my bad- And I know (just hard to resist...)
Everytime he pops in to spew propaganda and try to redirect the conversation or turn it into a DS attack or whatever- I feel the need ...
But yeah, you're probably right. I think my position is pretty clear and now a bit redundant on this issue... It just burns me up the sheer magnitude of shady shit, misrepresentation and viral marketing thats been going on and now is being used to not only bilk more cash from the whales, reinforce the "us vs them' mentality but flat out lie- All for some shillings. granted, theres a fuckton of shillings to be had here, but still...
The response by the Escapist seems an honest enough attempt to explain the reasons the sources' comments could be found on glassdoor. It establishes a very real time line that, if need be, could be easily verified without giving away the sources' identities.
Again, this places the onus squarely back on CR and CIG. Instead of this going back and forth, would it not be more effective to just release enough information to counter the claims of the anonymous sources? I don't know what I believe regarding CR and CIG's use of the funds raised (other than I do believe, with such a large staff, more progress could/should have been made over the years than what we've been shown) or whether or not there was gross mismanagement involved.. But if there was not and more progress has been made than is already publicly available..
Would it not be easier and more effective for CIG to just release the information on that progress? No spending reports needed if only you can show backers their money is creating an effective progression towards a completed product. This would be an absolutely perfect moment, in terms of PR and marketing, to drop a major website update on previously unreleased progress.
Show people there actually is a damn game. Right now, Chris. Show the world what you've gotten done other than create fancy videos of pre-rendered assets, or a tiny arena. Show us dogfighting in space, show us how atmospheric flight works (like No Man's Sky). Show a station interface, show us how the economy works. Show, show, show. Don't tell, SHOW! The game should be at least half finished at this point, show us what you've done!
Showing people what they've got would shut everybody up. Instead, they resort to Chris Roberts throwing a hissy fit and spouting off platitudes and accusations, as per usual. Why? Because I suspect there's nothing much to show other than what little has been seen. I hope I'm wrong, if for no other reason than to prevent this turning into a rather large nail in the coffin of crowd funding.
AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!
We are born of the blood. Made men by the blood. Undone by the blood. Our eyes are yet to open. FEAR THE OLD BLOOD.

They just released the sale of another ship. It's selling for the bargain price of $450. Its a beautiful drawing of a space ship. You can look at it and marvel whenever you want. They give you 24/7 access to look at it. What else do people want? Blood?
1. Never put money into something that's gonna take 4 Massive Years to complete and never get past 25% complete.
2. If you have invested, get your refund now, cause this game is dead and will never complete.
3. If this was Privateer 1 or 2, you wouldn't need a 10,000$ Computer to play it !
4. Roberts & Wife recently bought a new Yacht with all you MONEY, Don't you feel Screwed now?
New to this; but from what I see, Chris Roberts is completely detached from reality. He asks in one of his posts, how two former employees in FL can contact and meet with someone in LA? This is the age of the INTERNET!! Has he never heard of SKYPE or other video conferencing? And his problems with an article is the writer had a funny mug that says semen on it? Give me a break. His 'letters' and other posts on the Star Citizen site aren't backing him up, he's just bashing on those that are writing negatively about him; with good reason. He has YET to show a product over 4 years, other than barely working demos, and a CGI concept movie. He's changed his goals for the product numerous times, and even changed the product over this history. THIS is why Wing Commander died as a franchise.

And just WHERE is this game Erillion? Even STO had working demos after a few months work. As did Defiance, Rift and other games created by studios smaller than what Roberts claims to have. And these games had more than one or two videos posted by those who were testing them. So what's the hold-up? Roberts spending too much time on that yacht?
I agree with Chris that if the game comes out early and isn't fully featured he will be on blast by the community.
He's being blasted by the community right now. Releasing the game early would actually help his case. By 'game' I mean persistent universe. I don't care about the single player. I pledged for the MMORPG content.

Yes.... exactly.... they can meet over the Internet. You know, because when has anything over the Internet ever been fake? It also seems like you may have spent more time looking at the pictures in the article than actually reading it. If you had read the CIG response, and threat of legal action, there are a couple really interesting notes which discredit at least a few of their "vetted" sources. So, obviously, this vetting process is completely broken.
Also, I consider myself to be a progressive middle-aged man. However, there is a line that should still be drawn. As a general rule of thumb, I tell my kids that if they want to be treated as adults, then they should act like adults. So, yes, gaming t-shirts on a gaming show can slide, but cups re: semen are juvenile. They SHOULD hurt your credibility. That's just my opinion. Maybe we should make a poll and see how many people would walk around with that cup and work, and if not, why.
As far as products go, it's a modular design, which they are actually delivering on. If you knew about the product, you'd know that. The product scope is expected to change, not just in SC but in every single gaming and software project ever since the dawn of mankind. As anyone who works in software. Since they announced they were freezing features, they have not added any new features. They have weekly updates on progress for anyone who is actually willing to pay attention.
Sorry, but if you'd like to debate intelligently, please bring an intelligent argument and some actual, legitimate information to back up your claims.
Well, CIG feel confident enough about their position that they've informed The Escapist that they intend to sue them not only in the US, but the UK as well unless a full retraction and an apology are published by them. They gave them a deadline to respond to them until the end of business hours today. See the updated post at https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/14979-Chairmans-Response-To-The-Escapist. They're keeping all updates on the situation on the same post so as not to pollute the rest of the site with it and they've added the formal response from Ortwin Freyermuth, CIG's co-founder together with Roberts and CIG's general counsel (yep, he's a lawyer), to The Escapist.
Frankly the Escapist articles were some of the shoddiest journalistic workmanship I've seen, even in games journalism which is an achievement in and of itself, and it's a site which has been in a steady and steep decline since they lost the Jimquisition. Nowadays the only thing of any value there is Zero Punctuation.
"I've had a lot of jobs over the years,
because I recognized early on that I learned better from experience
than from schooling. Because of this, I took a lot of jobs and left a
lot of jobs when I felt I'd learned what I could from them. I've
worked as, in no particular order:
a Construction Contractor,
a Barista, an IT Professional, an actual High School Drama Teacher,
an Audio Engineer for both Television and Radio, a Retail Supervisor
or Manager several times over, a Professional Baseball Mascot, a
Telemarketer, a Stage and Film Actor, a WoW Game Master, a
Prosthetics Support Specialist, a Home Improvement Professional, a
Director of Operations for a Professional Baseball Team, a Cashier, a
Mr. Trash, a Theme Park Performer, a Truck Loader, a Published Author
of textbooks and magazine articles, a Hospitality Worker and a few
others that escape recall at this moment.
I mention all this
because there are all kinds of jobs, and all kinds of workplaces, and
what's right for one isn't necessarily right for another, and for
many workplaces, you never know if it's going to be a good fit
between employee and employer until you get there. Before I came to
Star Citizen, as a devout backer, I thought I knew everything I
needed to about working for Star Citizen.
And I've never been
more wrong in my life.
This is so much better than I
expected.
This is a place for gamers, and when I say that,
I mean people that come READY TO PLAY. The work is hard, the hours
are long, and the rewards... well, the rewards are history in the
making.
The people that are here are as dedicated as any I've
met on any job I've had. They come in early and stay late, and they
work under the light of a community that can be both supportive and
demanding in equal measure. I've seen every emotion in the human
specturm from my fellow employees in the time I've been here, because
for many, this isn't just a job: you build a very real attachment to
the thing. It resonates deeply when people are pleased with what
they're seeing, as much as it does when they do not. This collective
endeavor to do the thing they say can't be done, that's never been
done, and then to do it in a form and manner that's scares the
industry must scare the crap out of some people. It makes sense that
it would.
But courage isn't the absence of fear, it's the
ability to let that fear inform your actions and proceed
intelligently anyway.
Ands that's what I see people doing
here each and every day. It's hard work building the impossible, and
it's not for everyone. People will come and people will go because of
this. Speaking only for myself, this place quickly became a home. My
co-workers were dedicated, my superiors easily approachable, and it's
a rare day that some aspect of this amazing development doesn't
surprise or astonish me. I feel like I wandered in the desert for so
many years, looking for my place in things, and I don't feel that way
anymore.
This is the place where I belong.
With Chris
and Sandi and Ben and Alexis and Thomas and Toast (I still can't call
him Steven) and everyone else that comes in each day to make the
impossible possible. It's okay to be afraid, but it's even better to
have the courage to succeed as well. And to those of you that
do:
And erillion, you know this will all include you to by the time everything is said and done. Your redirection and attempt at obfuscation is downright hilarious at this point.
YOU are so transparent its not even funny anymore.
Everyone knows your bias and most suspect (but havnt seen proof) your financial ties.
We're going to out you too- Time and place of our choosing.
Remember who controls the timeline now sweetie. You guys better get ready for the FUN thats coming ...Soon...
Have Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude, that is some creepy shit you posted there. I'd ask what your motivations are, but I actually don't think I want to know.
In this case my motivation is to let 'mr. have fun!!!!!' know (again) that many know hes not some mere 'fan' posting about a game he likes but rather is making some serious shillings doing what hes been doing.
So what about Mr jcrg99? will you expose him too? I have actually seen Erillion post like a regular human being in a couple threads that have zero to do with SC.
I'm glad I didn't give this game a single penny, from what I've read and heard is that the game is empty promises and false hopes. People should be more cautious where they spend their money.
The should be a an independent company set up that monitors Early Access, Kick Starter games, that people pledge money to, but if the company fails then the company rakes back all funds and refunds the funders as much money as they can, that's in the pot for the title they funded. Uncontrolled and left to their own, companies can take money and are not accountable for their actions or responsibilities to the public, which is alone morally wrong as the public funded someone, to make something which they failed to complete.
So Robert, when are you going to release a working alpha to your supporters to prove that you ARE actually using their funded monies, to support Star Citizen project. Which you continue to argue that you are in fact not laundering the millions of dollars to line your own pocket, but however continue to fail to produce anything that resembles a working model for the backers to play and test and give their direct support, so where is it?
