Chris Roberts Responds to Recent Allegations | Star Citizen | MMORPG.com

Star Citizen's Chris Roberts has taken to the game's official page to speak out against recent allegations against Roberts Space Industries coming from several quarters. Most notably, Roberts addresses the company's handling of finances raised through KickStarter and employee issues stemming from anonymous 'insiders' over the past couple of weeks.

Maybe if there was some work done on the game that at least reflects the $250 I spent on it as well as others, for a ship that cant even fly, then people would not point fingers at him. Frankly, the game consists of a couple of hangers and a small space flight sim for small ships. Whoopie Freakin Doo!

Oh SNAP!!! I didn't even know the bit about Derek Smart writing a letter to Origin about infringement. WOW!!!!!! That's just WOW!!!! If only we could see an original. So, it would seem that these are no new tactics to Derek Smart. He appears to have been employing the same tactics to "acquire" IP even back then, while attempt to create even a half-baked game. If only he was talented enough to even half-bake a game, maybe he wouldn't need to steal from others.

Well... If CR actually lives in that house on that adress on the site you link to you kinda doxed him, didn't you? Or do you mean to claim that was just some random house you linked there that just happended to be (if it actually is) his? That is kind of a thin argument tbh...

What all of you seem to forget is it takes a VERY long time to make the game of our dreams. Its like your damned if you do and damned if you don't. I agree with Chris that if the game comes out early and isn't fully featured he will be on blast by the community. He is doing things the right way and its taking a LONG time. But my money is on star citizen being a success and the game so many of you claim to want.

By the time we reach the end of this story, few are going to care.. As the longer these accusations linger and nothing happens one way or the other, the less impact they have when the next one rears it's head. Why operate from the shadows if there is something shady going on at a game company? It makes no sense... If something is really going down really blow the whistle, agent 47 isn't gonna get you if you do.

Meh, I trust that no matter which way this goes, when there is a game to play all this will mean nothing.  If there ends up no game to play, well that's entirely a different issue. 

Personally, even if Squadron 42 is released to the backers to date, with the modules they have out, you have gotten your 40$ worth.  It is not CIG's fault if you've dropped 10k + on the promise for digital assets and the project falls short.  

Fear mongering though, that Derek nukfut is just doign what he does best.  Nothing at all. Move on.

Honestly, the drama surrounding this game was worth the backing, and it's better than any MMO I've played lately. Now who wants some POPCORN!

Well the accusations pointed to illegal employer activities not just the game.He carefully left that part out. The accusations on employer conduct are very serious,enough that he could see some court time if they were taken to a lawyer. I actually worked at a place where the owner and one of his sons were so bad they forced legally to stay out of their own shop-business.They were hiring handicap workers for free through the government but were abusing them.So yeah a little more serious but still employer conduct does fall under the law and discrimination and harassment is serious. Now of course this re-buttle gave him his fair chance to speak back but anyone with an iq over2 knows there is no way in hell he could admit to these allegations if they were true.So know way to do we know the truths from either side,i still just look at what we do know.

He pretty much came out and said what I have been thinking for sometime, that SC can't be made with the current cash on hand didn't he? Unless they keep selling ships to keep the company running they won't be able to release the game as promised.

This isn't in and of itself a bad thing or means that SC is going to fail but if the gravy train of ship sales dries up either because of all this press or for some other reason the whole project might fall apart or at best result in something much less than what has been sold being delivered. I find it interesting thinking about all these "concept" ships that where sold that have not been developed in game and wonder if there is a very real possibility of some of these items not making it into the game at launch?

If Derek commited libel and doxed, as people say, why is Chris Roberts not legitimately suing him? Perhaps its because where there is smoke, there is fire? I hope Derek continues with that investigation, people need to be accountable where did those 90m dollars go...

I just get the feeling from reading anything Chris Roberts says that he has no idea what goes on within his company. A clear case of ' head in sand '. Someone needs to start taking pictures of these emails and recording these uncalled for public lashings if they are indeed happening. If so and nothing is being done about it because of who is doing it.. Well that is some big trouble there.
