yeah well fans play a major role in overclocking your computer which keeps your comp cool and its temperature down. Try www.Overclockers.com for some more info

  • fatalblitzzfatalblitzz Member Posts: 128
well if you're not familiar with overclocking then i suggest  you not do it. Overclocking is very risky and is dangerous for your card if you overclock it too much. Unless your computer that you get is slow, then i suggest you dont overclock.

  • SatansDiscipleSatansDisciple Member Posts: 2,782

im not sure, i just remember djin saying something like that.

and yea, thats why i wont attempt overclocking until i have enough money for back-up parts if needed.

Or if you have headphones that shut out the real world from the gameworld like Telex H-51- you wont even hear if someone shouts "the roof is on fire" they are really effective.

    They are really dangerousimage

  • SerienSerien Member CommonPosts: 8,460

  • OltzuOltzu Member UncommonPosts: 103

    Help yourself

    you can find them there

  • SerienSerien Member CommonPosts: 8,460

    so there are eh?

but are they like real surround sound speakers...whereas if someone shoots you from the back....you can hear it from the back of your ear?

and also...is there a way to purchase like surround sound headphones just like regular...i mean at RadioShack maybe... or so near it... (electronics store)

or do i have to order them online?

  • OltzuOltzu Member UncommonPosts: 103

Yes they have surround sound, the Telex Headphones you have to order but i think you can buy surround sound headphones from any electric stores.

Is 512Mb a decent amount of ram? I'm getting a new computer and this is the amount of ram it has? Is this enough to run games well or whatever it does? (Sorry I'm not a computer buff)

    yea 512 should do.

and i have a question too. i just got my case for my pc today, and on the psu it says "pentium 4 support". so will my amd not run at all? and if that is true, can i just replace the psu that came with it? or do they just not mention amd because not as many people use them? if it matters this is the case: case

ram is your random acces memory and it helps run many program, or programs that are high end (games)

512 would do...but i suggest once you get another 80 bucks or so, add another 512 and push it up to 1024

it'll help a LOT, but 512 is substantial

(almost every good computer starts with 512...after a while they have more than 1.5gigs...image)

just remember...u have the spare money, get the ram first

then worry about the graphics card or anything else u wanna do to it

yes that is what most modern day comps have for their stock memory. If you really wanna take it to the next level then you can get 1 gig.

those sites are confusing though, they keep telling me to look at my mobo/case instructions for help. where my mobo manual is good, my case manual sucks. it just tells me how to attach the mobo/drives. soive been hunting around lots of wires and lots of small print... my eyes are gettin old. anyway, ive been mostly doin guesswork anyway, and it seems to be right. and puttin that heatsink in was a bitch! im surprised i didnt break the damn thing out of frustration. took me like an hour alone to do that cuz i wanted to be careful... sigh, seemed so easy before. it shall get done though, its lookin like thats not gonna happen tonight though...
