Me and a few friends just recently started playing this game. They seem to absolutely love the game in its current state. I personally find it too simplistic and so full of bugs that it is annoying to play. From what I read i would have liked the game in its original state pre screw up or what ever they call it.

This is correct, there were issues make no joke about it... BUT the level the game was at and it's depth was by far alot more then it is now.
They really did go after a younger demograph this time and make no hidden agenda about it actually.. as it has been said they changed the game because the previous one was to complex, with to much reading and diversity.
Now it is meant for a quick fix -- we did go from a SIM based game to a ARCADE one with multiplayer atributes.
You don't need me and I don't need you type game... Not a MMO of sorts, more of a go go go game.

This is not a flame at all at you or your friends. I am just curious as to what age group is represented by your friends. How old are they and have they tried other MMORPG's?
Ask them if they think it's too simple or just about right.
It's just my nature to be curous because I found nothing good about the new system but then again I haven't played since March of this year.

Our Age group is approximately from 25 - 40, me being the youngest of the group. We all have played other MMO's. Personally I have played EQ, AO (greatest mmo to date imo), DDO, Ferentus. They have played UO, COH, L2, DDO, and SWG before and after NGE. I have not asked them how they feel of the game yet.
I am bored with the game just after a week of play (give or take a few days), and find the game very simplistic as i stated previously. I understad a week is not much time to review a game, but i have read qute a bit on the game, and am an avid forum sufer. Who ever posted previously that they are going for the wow gamer crowd seem to be correct as a child could easily play the game.
I wish I would have had the oppurtunity to play the game in its original form as I think it would have been a very entertaining game.
it was a very fun game at launch, then they made it really gay so i stopped playing..they made it to easy to become a jedi so yah it was time to stop playing. heh
ah i miss the days farming on dantoonie with my ATST running around killing stuff at my side:(
They killed alot of stuff ok everyone is mad including me I'm really mad cause that was one of my favorite games untill they screwd it up and now nobody plays it and what pisses me off the most is SOE is probaly sitting in their chairs smoking money and drinkning fancy wine and laughing at us. <<<< that explains how im feeling ok. I have been looking for an MMO like it and have not found one like the old swg and it pisses me off SOE IS GOING DOWN So i hope. I think a company should make SWG2 (GOOD) and make it during the clone/sith rising age. I'm itching to get back to this game just because I want to see what its like but, I must restrain my self I need help lol.

You need help to restrain yourself. The best thing for you to do is re-up for a month. After that, you will hit the cancel button and no longer need the restraint. You try it and realize you expect to see Barney and friends around the corner and tell me you would actually want to re-up again after that.

Wait I'm confused you want me to stop being angry? Why do you think they call me Jack Bauer? lol. I just want SWG a familiar game to everyone, one of the best MMO's (when it was old) to be back orrrr just make another SWG (maybe not the same title but a Star Wars MMO even better then the old one)
By the way.... Your right and right now I have to defeat terrorists in 24 without eating/taking a bathroom break so I may be uptight.
