Sounds like a wonderful idea! Make sure however that the item is only useless at 0/100 durability and not completely broken or lost forever. It seems to me like it could be a nice tool in adding to the imersion of WoW.

I am probably wrong so dont quote me.... but I heard that in closed beta you are not able to set your graphics to maximum. Perhaps that was only for the stress test.
