I think Guild Wars is a great game. Having lots of fun playing it. WoW lasted me about 3 weeks before it got really boring. If I can get 3 weeks or more out of GW, its well worth $50...

Play a Warrior/Monk with a sword and shield as your first character. Very easy to play, and easy to keep alive. Rangers are fairly easy to play also.
