I use a 2 buttons + wheel mouse. I move my keyboard to the right and align my right hand with WASD. I use the same keys as right handers. That way, i'm close to the 1-0 keys.

Did you install it in "program files"? I think there's a problem with Win7/Vista that doesn't let you save files there. So you can't update the game.
