I'm a defensive-play oriented gamer. I like to keep the fights slow and controlled. Battles of attrition are my forte; forcing both my allies and my enemies to play smart.
I traditionally play as support/healer classes or skill-sets when playing with friends. If playing an MMO solo, it tends to be more of a toss-up although I do tend to favor Classes or Skill-Sets with interesting mechanics.
My favorite MMOs of all time were Asheron's Call, WAR, and WoW. Though I found myself utterly sick of WoW currently.
I'm most looking forward to SW:ToR, FF14, and Earthrise.
It would appear you didn't read the OPs statements clearly enough. He didn't demand something for nothing. He doesn't want a silver platter. He voice a concern that is not all that uncommon to MMO players and especially not ones from the days of Ash…

Bioware makes a concerted effort to only show completed content. Seeing as the game is still in focus testing and isn't even in closed beta yet, I'd say you're being awfully demanding on what you expect to be showed.
Not to mention, the game looks …

Currently I'm not but at one point I was subbed to Champions Online and Aion at the same time. Both turned out to be games I didn't want to continue with, but early-game the lack of time investment isn't that important so I saw no problems.

The argument that borrowed features from WoW = WoW Clone is simply tiring at this point. Every argument I've ever seen in favor of that side of the…
I love this idea conceptually. Human-controlled bosses have existed before in MMOs. Such as the Bael'Zharon event in Asheron's Call. But that was a dev controlled boss. I agree it would only work in a trinity-free MMO, because any smart player contr…
It's a concept that has a whoooole lot of potential. I'm a little saddened because I very much enjoy playing dedicated healers, but I think this type of change in MMOs, especially popular ones, really helps expand the genre. Kudos to the devs, let's…

I'm jumping into this very late, but as soon as I saw the topic I said to myself "Oh man... this is gonna be like... 5 pages long".
I was close... it's at 8 =P

I still remember being told and convinced that crown-control wouldn't be so rampant in the game. Boy was that wrong! I can't remember the name of the volcano scenario in T3, but that was the start of the end for me.

I wanted to respond here, but there's been a lot of prior posts and I kinda just want to jump in without reading the other 3 pages, so I apologize if I replicate prior points. If I do, consider this an homage.

They have mentioned that the transition between Flashpoints (i.e. Instances/Dungeons) from the planet will be seamless. You could walk in and out of an instance with no load time, but the Flashpoints WILL be instances.
And while I don't recall…
