I'm interested that some people quote GW2 as a favourable example of exploration - I couldn't stand it. Every 2 paces in the "wilderness" there's some quest giver or quest hub dude with a telescope, pointing out everything around you....
Wizardry was a really great series, one of the genre-defining CRPGs, so I hope the MMORPG can do it justice. Really wouldn't want to see it done as a JRPG though...fingers crossed!
I still quite like the "feel" of Altdorf in Warhammer Online. It captures the spirit of the Warhammer universe pretty well I think. And the skaven hiding in the barrels were fun :-)
Ahh thanks, that's good to know. I don't tend to have much time I can schedule for gaming in advance, so being able to jump on and fly around without needing to get buddies online would be good. :-)

I remember a pretty stupid discussion once in Warhammer Online. Someone was saying that even though it's a PvP game, it's a pity they neglected the PvE side, because PvE and questing generally was so crap, etc etc....then the same person admitted th…
Hmm....Terry Goodkind....
I tried reading Wizard's First Rule recently, but found it a bit silly. Especially when he suddenly decides to lapse from fantasy writing into Bondage Erotica.
But, I know what you mean. Regardless of what I thought of th…
Hi PTED,
I read all of the correspondence you provided, and I can see why you're annoyed. However...no offense, but I think you're going a bit far with your last response to the customer support team. Here's my take on it.
First, the person who tr…
This is a great topic
I agree with all the above, particularly Joel's point about user-submitted content. Why was Morrowind so popular for the PC even three years after release? Simple, because of the mod community.
I'd also like to see more game…

Bah, Mozilla, Firefox, bah. Opera is the only browser worth using. Had pretty much all the features of Firefox, only it had them about 6 years ago

No offense to anyone who thinks differently, but I've never understood what the problem is with this. Yes, it's a bit unnecessary and relies on the player remembering to cancel his/her account, but such behaviour is not really surprising in the mode…
Thanks, this is all interesting stuff.
So, another question: how would you class the text-based games from people like Skotos, Iron Realms, and Simutronics? I'm thinking of Castle Marrach or GemStone IV, for example. As far as I can see, they have …
Thanks. That's interesting, I'm a big GW fan but didn't know about the chatlogs. I've now managed to spend the last hour or so in work reading them, instead of working.

I like the concept. The only thing I wasn't sure about was the "sacrifice 10% of player population" to leave Stygia. What exactly do you mean by that? You have to kill 10% of the other players in Stygia at the time?
Other than that, it's a good ide…
I don't think it's so much that people think that Warhammer itself is copied from WoW. Most people know it's based on the vintage tabletop battle game.
I think what annoys people is that it seems that the Warhammer Online folks have basically look…
Hey VGJustice, where did you hear that it's going to change? Would be cool if you could do the early Tyria quests with a Factions character. Would help counteract the slightly dull PvE in Factions.

How come? What in particular don't you like about it?
Actually, I can see that it's more like a "movie soundtrack" type of music, rather than music that reacts to the events in the game. But I still think it's cool.
What game music do you like?

However, you won't be able to do it immediately with a new RP character. You need to play quite a way into the game if you want to do PvE missions together. Just in case you didn't know already.

LOL great post. So, I take it you didn't like Oblivion, then?
Seriously though, you have a good point, and it's one that's been raised before. We definitely need more variety in our games, but then you come up against the fact that the publishers…
