Well they haven't added tracking for Rangers. And stealth doesn't work in PVP. The quest that would give me the xbow i need is bugged. Half the time i teleport to new Tanipor I am stuck. So i stuck out, and wind up in an area that isn't finished yet. So all the areas around me are locked. So the only way to get out is to recall. So i just stand there for a half hour, waiting for my recall to refresh.
So stop saying how polished this game is now. Its not.
ROFL its not done because the oohh .5% of the game you want still isnt perfect? Good dont come back
no am not jack at the end of next week i should have my new rig and am going AMD64 4800,2gigs PC6400 and a 8800 gtx with a 800 watt power supply so i can run 2 8800 when the price comes down so will see just seems strange all the really good machines that seem to have problems with vanguard

Most people are not going to go iout and drop 2000 plus USD to play this game when they can play otehr games with a minimal upgrade, howeverl I guess if you can drop 1000 dollars just for video cards this game would run fine. I thinkt most people wil still be running their 6000 and 7000 series cards for a while yet. I am in another games beta where the graphics are far superior and I get 50+FPS on my machine, so I think I will pass till the end of the year at least on a video card upgrade.

Considering my machine is 2 years old, nvidia 7800, I am getting about 30 fps...
Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS) Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve
The fact that it is in BETA matters greatly actually. The game will be running on better servers at release. You will see more patching improving the game before release. Oh yeah did I forget to mention that you are playin a game BEFORE release.

if I want to drop my settings down to minimum so can I, however the textures look like crap on a stick even at max quality. Face it fanbois this game is just going to be anotehr loser right along with SWG and teh Matrix in SOEs stable of half assed games
Take a page out of your own book, I think you are being ignorant to the facts. The release of Vangaurd is premature. The game is largely unfinished and unpolished.

Well you think thats bad i ordered a 30 inch dell monitor to for 1400 because my monitor couldn't even take advantage of a highend machine , but my wife wants to play to so what better excuse to upgrade and its not just for vanguard i want to play the new games coming out at max everything too
I don't expect the magic fanboi patch. But I am going to be one of those who is there at the begining and just enjoy the world as it blossoms into a living world.

Its more than .5%. Tracking is big part of rangers. Heck we can't even make arrows yet! And stealth is huge in pvp. I crash half the time I ride the boat. The whole SW part of Thestra is unfished. The game has huge amounts that are unfinished.

Yeah he's defiantly high. But then again the majority of vanboi's must be. That's about the only way I can see someone enjoying vanguard. Ooooo pretty lights!
Just wondering Jackdog, when was the last time you posted something positive about anything in these forums?
well a fanboy made the post and asked what I thought about it now so I dug up the old zip file unzipped it and logged in and within 5 minutes found these two graphical problems
which gets 50 FPS in EQII with most settings maxxed. So to make a long story short I don't think this game is ready for release or worth 15 dollars a month. FLoating avatars and poor performance was acceptable 3 months ago but a week from release it just does not cut it.
Want me to post something positive? Ok I just bought a new Samsung 22" widescreen monitor today and I ma postive that games other than Vanguard will look fantastic on it. I wait till the free ten day trial before I try Vanguard on it, or maybe the second since I doubt they will have everything fixed before they offer the first one.
I have been very down on this game for quite a while now, but I've still keeped a close eye on it. I must say Sigil has done a very good job with the recent patches, and I now think the game will have a solid following in a niche market. I still won't be buying it upon release, and I'm still not to sure this is even the game for me, but they've done such a good job improving the game that I might give it a try the next time a decide to upgrade the cpu.

The developers have acknowledged that the game isn't quite ready, however they must follow the wishes of their financiers and release the game now. They've promised to fix it as quickly as they can. Not much else they can do at this time.
Despite its flaws, I'm finding it enteraining, there seems to be a huge world out there for me to explore (my favorite part of any MMO) and I am more than willing to give them 15.00 per month (the price of a good lunch btw) for the chance to start playing.
I'll spend the first few months trying out different characters and classes, to see what I'd really like to develop all the way to the top, and I'll explore places. I won't be concerned with reaching the end-game or anything like that. If it doesn't work out..oh well, another game will come along and I'll give that a try.
If you don't want to play thats fine, when/if they get it all fixed up and if you decide to join us... we'll leave the light on for you.

Actually I doubt if I will ever play it again to be honest. There are too many other games conimg out in the near future which offer more. Yhey had their chance to hook my wallet and missed
Well Jack your loss. I really don't see any other mmorpgs coming out in the near future that will be better. Lord of the rings is the most boring ever, full of instances, feel almost like a singleplayer game at times.
Only 1 game I see as a competitor for Vanguard , other than WoW and that is WarhammerOnline, but still think that game has some time to go, and will focus on a different group of ppl than Vanguard. Since it is mostly a pvp game like DAoC, and also has a completely different style of art, same as WoW has.
But we'll see who's right and wrong, luckily for us, it doesn't matter which of the games turn out awesome, cause we can chose to play whatever one of them we like the most

And they will not be "finished" product and you know it.
I cannot wait for AoC and WAR to be honest, but they will be "unfinished" just like Vanguard.

My FPS went down considerably ( Nvidia user here as well ).
Animations still suck.
Mobs and players still fall through the floor.
My verdict stays the same, I'll check back in a year.

So can some of the anti-fanboys confirm this that theres actually a lot of improvements happening or is this just the usual overshooting?
NOT that this will change the game from what it is, but of course a little more shiny and well oiled hamster wheel is always a better one..
wow... the game has come a really long way just in the 2 weeks ive been playing. The lastest patch did wonders ,worth another look^^

notice the 17.1 FPS average? That was with a light server load on this machine
