I said the same thing about PC gaming 10 years ago and I am still here doing the same thing that you're doing.  We must be addicts.  Pay $50 for a game, get a $5 "high", come down from that "high" and swear we'll never do it again, forget everything after reading some previews, and then spend $50 on another game.  That's one cycle that never ends.

Couple things I wanted to clear up for people.

    1. The community, for the most part, is alot better than others. People are understandably defensive about their game, and occasionally if you make an unpopular comment in chat someone might say "go back to wow", but in general they're alot more helpful and tolerant than say, the other popular game well all compare everything with.

    2. SOE is not developing the game. SOE has publishing rights, and that's it. This means they are allowed to promote the game, host the servers, get the game to people who want it, generate hype about the game, and deal with the billing. That's it though. All the development decisions, all the ingame events, all the tweaks and patches and everything else is done by Sigil, the guys who left SoE because it was screwing up their game the first time.

    3. There's been tons and tons of improvements even in the last few days of beta. Don't keep bashing the game on stuff that you saw earlier in beta when it can easily just not be true anymore.

in regards to number 2 SOE has Sigil by the money sack, when SOE says jump Sigil has no choice but to say how high.

in regards to # 3 in 15 minutes of running around taking screenshots yesterday I came across these

    a floating PC

    http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/1/screenshot000063uw.jpg

A PC sinking in the ground killing a bug with the "wind" off his sword

    http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/979/screenshot000002qx.jpg

and something which I have yet to figure out. If anyone can tell me what this is I would appreciate it. By the way this was taken on extreme performance setting and the blue "stuck" text was flashing on and off. When I went back later the legs had disappeared.

    http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/4267/screenshot000081sl.jpg

what I found really weird was the game looks almost as good at extreme performance as it does at extreme quality and triples the FPS

Jack, i don't know.... but that is nothing.  That is the only thing you have left?  Stucked NPC or clipping NPC?

I know you can do better then that.... get back to work.  Not original at all ;)

seriously I do want to know, I logged back in this morning and it was not there. Looking at the legs they have no shoes or boots and I thought it might be a quest NPC or something. I am really curious not trolling, I even emphasised that screenie was taken on the lowest quality so people would know I was not slamming the graphics.

Anyway the game will do now what it does ,  word is out an no amount of spin doctoring or trolling will make a damn now one way or the other. Most peopl eI know are gpoing to either pass or wait a few months. The diehard fans that run from bad game to bad game have already pre order so ~shrug~ it does not really matter at this point

Here's the problem Jack, your argument is faulty.

You focus on "ooh, look at that rock" and "Hey look, I found a guy who has a clipping problem". Guess what tro- oops I mean Jackdog, every game has issues like this. It was probably a corpse that got caught in the steps there. The stuck is a safety system so that other players can avoid the rare occurance and help the guy out, in addition with providing feedback. (You did provide feedback didn't you?)

How about you stop the half-truths and stop trying to make it out like the entire game is like this. The truth is these are exceptions to the rule, and you just want to bash on vanguard with every opportunity. I can go into any game you give me and find issues like these. WoW has them, LOTRO has them, AoC has them, WAR will probably have them too. The fact is that they're just rare occurrances that most people don't see. Anyone can find them in any game if they're looking for them to the extent that you would in your quest to try and bash the game. You're nitpicking and grasping at straws. Grow up man.

what half truths dude, yesterday in 15 minutes of play which is about as much of this thing I can endure. I saw one guy with his leg buried to his knee in a hill, one chick floating 3 feet in the air and the ass end of some PC or NPC or something with a flashing blue stuck. That woul dbe acceptable if this was a Q2or Q3 release in closed beta but Wednesday is money day dude. You fan  boys need to accept reality  that this thing is not ready for pay to play yet. Not that that has ever stopped SOE before.

I think the game's graphics is the least that you have to worry about. For me the game's base system that is flawed. There is nothing new in it and at the beginning is quite boring and dull(not the environment). The environment and the world is real amazing and nice but thats it. All the other aspects are quite boring, imo. Maybe it will be get better after lvl 10 but i just didnt have the patience to take a toon that high up, so sorry Vanguard you are not my type. The peeps who like the style have fun and play safe:)

Okay Jackdog, here's your chance to prove you're not just a petty nitpicking troll.

1- Body in the ground being stuck: Show me a game that has no clipping issues at all. If I can play it, I can find a clipping issue.

2- Guy with his leg in a hill: Show me an MMO where someone can stand on a steep hill without one foot in the hill or one foot in the air, still standing up straight.

3- Girl floating in the air: Well you really can't do anything about this one. There's LEVITATION in the game. Feel free to keep ignoring the fact that people have told you again and again though.

The truth is you ran around looking for things to complain about, and you represent them as being the entirety of the game. It's pathetic.

I think the number of servers they are launching with says it all. We came, we saw,  we held our noses and walked away. 7 US servers appx 3K per server max players atr a time ......10% on at any given time means they anticipate at most  200K box sales. Figure industry standard retention after the first month and the game will have less than 100K players by March and that is a very very optimistic number.

See Jackdog, there goes your credibility right out the window. I challenge you to back up your words and you change the topic.

Also, what is this bullcrap about servers? Can you even count? Or did you change the numbers to make it sound more like you wanted?

There's 8 US pve servers, 2 US pvp servers, and 2 Euro servers. Nowhere does it say that there will be 3k players max (even the beta servers went over 3k). There's no way of knowing the average number of players on at a time, could be 10%, could be 5%, could be 25%. You are just guessing at 'anticipated' numbers, that you are making up anyways. Also, please post your sources for the "industry standard" of 50% retention in the first month.

You're just pulling bullcrap out your ass now. Give it up troll.

    Questions:

What's the difference between the normal PvP rules and the alt PvP rules?

    Concerns:

That seems like too few Roleplay servers to me.  I know that roleplay isn't super popular amongst MMORPGs, but looking at EQ2  Ican see that the PvP servers are the most popular.  I'd probably designate 2 US Roleplay PvE servers and 6 US RP-optional PvE servers.

seven or eight it is still not exactly a impressive number is it LOL. Guess if  you really want to nitpick there are ten of the little devils counting the PvP.

Define quality buddy...quality is a good game that will last you years.  You might think that SWG was a good quality game, while I beg the differ.  You might think your doing good here, flaming and trying to win an argument, but it all comes down to how lame are you?  Lame enough to come in and try to stir things up about a game that you'll either play or won't play.  I'll pick quality over quantity anyday...I don't need people like you in my game.  why don't you try for once playing a game you enjoy and just forget about us?  I'm tired of laughing my ass off here Jacky...

I would say the simplest definition of quality in a game would be one that has entertainment and is amusing .  Very few find frustration and boredom amusing anymore. Oh and it is your game? Well don't sweat it I doubt if I will ever be in your game again.

Ok, and what is frustrating?  The uneasy FPS?  Mine seem to be fine now.  Are the naked death runs frustrating?  I don't think they are, they add tatics and teamwork.  Hell, World of Warcraft can get frustrating at time, so that means it's a bad game?  I am not bored in Vanguard and I'm not frustrated at all.  It all comes down to what you want and Vanguard isn't what YOU want.

Oh come now, the game has gotten much better, but it's still not all that.  At least it wasn't a half hour ago when I was playing.  It's not crap anymore, but it's not the game of the year yet either.  The jury is still out.
